There have been numerous requests from players regarding the differences between a GM and a CSR. While both roles are rather similar in that they both help players each day in any way possible, they provide help through different means.
What does GM and CSR Stand For?
A GM is a Game Master
A CSR is a Customer Support Representative
What is the Role of a GM?
GMs responsibilities include, but are not limited to: hosting various game events, awarding items, spawning monsters, hosting pvp tournaments, and keeping the overall atmosphere friendly and fun. They are the ones you would contact regarding any game play concerns that may arise such as guild issues, player harassment, bot reporting etc.
How can I contact a GM?
If you have a game play issue for a GM, you can either contact them in game, or send them a Private Message through the forums.
All GMs when online are contactable in game but please be aware that they are often busy assisting other players and may not respond immediately to a question directed at them.
You should respect each GM that you see online with the same authority regardless of your familiarity with them. There are numerous other GMs however their roles require that they focus their efforts on other aspects of our games.
What is the Role of a CSR?
Where GMs and CSRs differ is how they provide assistance and where they handle the issues that players have. CSRs handle support issues via email and Private Messages received via the Forums doing a lot of investigative work directly dealing with other departments such as the Development Team, Quality Assurance Department and other sections of our staff in order to resolve technical or account issues. CSRs rarely handle game play issues and if you need assistance with one, it is recommended asking a GM rather than a CSR for help.
How do I contact a CSR?
If there is a technical or account issue that you are seeking help for, you can submit a ticket using our Help tool in the upper right hand corner of your screen while you navigate the www.outspark.com website. A CSR will contact you once the ticket has been received and will get in touch with you usually within 24 hours unless there is an unusually high volume.
Where are GMs and CSRs when I do not see them?
If you are in game and you do not see a GM or CSR present, they are either performing an investigation regarding a player's issue, moderating the forums, or hidden while they assist specific players individually. Remember that even when you do not see any GMs or CSRs online, we have various means of monitoring our games that do not require us to be actively playing.
How do I become a GM or CSR?
At this time, Outspark is not looking to hire any new GMs or CSRs but thank you for your interest.
