Lag reduction question

Is there a way to reduce lag caused by too many players onscreen. I know I may have asked this before a while ago, but I just started playing again, & my laptop can't handle mass amounts of lag.

If your problem is caused by the high number of players, there's a key command to hide other players. I think it's shift + Z.

In general you can also go into the graphics settings and lower the quality as much as possible, and turn off the music and sounds.

Thanks. I knew there was a keyboard command for it, I just couldn't recall what it was.

minimize the LOD distance also. Turn off show other players names. item names, glow effects, etc...

play on the lowest setting graphically possible.
