I think that's the name of the skill (just got it today). Is it really worth using? It uses a fair bit of MP and sounds like itworks well, loweing the enemy's threat level... but what do the rest of you seasoned archers think?

Sorry I am not a seasoned archer but it is very helpful to me as a cleric, because sometimes it can be a pain to try and heal multiple people, so if a mob is attacking an archer and the tank can't pull it off just by taunting, then nature's protection is a must, especially since most archers can't take too many hits. Of course if you are soloing this is only good for running away, and even then I would think it wouldn't be very useful. In a party though it helps the cleric if you use it when being attacked, so that maybe all we have to do is throw a quick restore on you and save the heals and rejuvantes for the tank. Also please be aware that this does not always take all the aggro away from you, so if no one else is attacking the mobs or generateing aggro through taunts damage or healing, then it will continue to attack you, it only makes it so that it is very easy to pull them off of you (unless you are doing godly damage or something).

Are you suggesting it is a party effect or is it for caster only? A little confused there.
I wouldn't go and try to take red-named monsters on with it, but was hoping it would help me solo yellow-named at least.

I am a 37 archer and I love it. It has saved me from many a certain death while grouping. I make my own potions as well to alleviate the need of the cleric to have to worry about me so they can concentrate on the tank. I find it extremely useful and the clerics seem to appreciate it. :)
* While soloing it is great for splattering those low level guys that wander their way into MT and try to KS a few exp. One well placed cast of Natures Protection and /splat! no more annoying little pest. :p *
edit: Also great for eliminating bots that attack the nearest mob. Grab 8 or 9 mobs take them to the bot, cast Natures Protection, you walk away with minor flesh wounds. The bot on the other hand usually goes bye-bye.

timing is everything.
it's nice to be able to dump a bunch of enemies on someone else (especially bots)
great for Robo KQ too.

Being a level 40 archer I love that skill its great to use against KSers Ive killed like four using Natures Protection, and its hilarious. Its also good if your the strongest member in a party but you want the tanker to take the damage, then if the creatue comes and attacks you, you can use it and it cn save your life.
just my opinion :)

I learned something new today...
apparently nature's protection is the anti-bot/KSer tool.
On my Archer I find it useful but since I didn't know too much about the mechanics of it I only used it in parties and KQ's on very rare occasions. The cooldown sucks though, and I haven't seen a use for it while soloing (other then people's bot and KSer methods).
I think the reason most people say it doesn't work/is useless is because they keep trying to use it when they're the only person fighting a mob, which makes it useless.

Nature's Protection is pretty much the entire essence of being an archer. For one, if your in a tight squeeze you can use it and run. The monster will automatically lose your aggro. Best thing to kill bots or kill stealers too, just use it and run behind them. It looses your attention and automatically goes onto the attacking player.
Best thing for parties too. By using it you can lose attention so the fighter can gain it.
Learn when to use it, I always want to shout to some archers to tell them not to use it at the moment and waster precious sp.

Nature's Protection is pretty much a skill to be used in a party. Whenever you are fighting solo, it can be used if you take on a monster that you find out is too high for you, just run and activate the protect, the monster will De-Aggro you and go back.
However, this skill ONLY works on the target monster. It does not work on a group of monsters, that I know of. I could be wrong, but I swear it says on the skill info that it only works on the target. I've only used it maybe once on my archer, but I've kinda been neglecting her.
It's a good skill, and definitely worth getting. If you pass one of the quests after your Shadow Quest, you get the skill for free and you don't have to buy it with fame at item merchant nina in Elderine.

Yes - there really has to be something done about this. Personally I think whomever hits it first gets 100% of the xp (or their party does) - evne if you snipe it, you get nothing.
I rarely use the spell, tho....
Actually - I just used it the other day in BH and it came in VERY nice... can't say the same for our poor tank, though :/
The best time, however, was when I was hunting in Sea of Greed near the Elderine gate. I was attacking Lizardmen, et al and I noticed a young noob mage taking shots at my mobs. Thinking it an oversight, I went and attacked another nearby and after I took a few hits, she'd appear and start attacking it.
Now annoyed, I called in a lizardman, took some baby hits and she took the bait... so I cast NP and walked away. By the time I turned around, she was dead and the beast was walking away.
So yes, it DOES come in handy ^_^

That's how i kill low level KS'ers in CP, lol.
I shoot a few harkans, once I see them attack I cast NP.
You gotta love seeing the naked dead bodies. <3

I've found the skill pretty useful in Kingdom Quests, specifically the Millennium Robo one...where a large amount of monsters either respawn or enter the room at the same time.
I'm not considered a person who is added to big parties all the time, so I don't know if they're useful outside of KQ's or not, haha.

Where exactly do I obtain this Nature's Protection? i've completed the shadow quest but all that was given to me was a bow and some fame and 5 skills points... I've checked my inventory and everything...I've checked through Master Deiked.. (sp) I can't find it..
Thanks

I thought at lvl 20, after completing the Shadow Clone quest you can talk to Master Deiked to talk to the dark elf in the Forest of Mist. That's where I thought I got it...

I don't find it useful at all, actually. I've used it maybe twice since I got it again, since I knew what it did from when I had my archer the first time. To me its useless, because it does nothing more than dump the enemy on someone else's feet. Maybe it's a life saver in groups, but my archer doesn't do groups yet since all my friends are high level.
But that's just my two cents XD

Frankly I really hate it when an archer with 600+ hp in a KQ like mara uses Nature at all - either it's getting my mage in trouble, or making my life as a cleric difficult =P

i figured it out.... you've gotta do deiked's quest (20 mara pirate elite & 20 smart phinos) after the shadow quest, then you go to the forest of mist and find the unknown elf Rupel in the upper left corner of the map and he'll give you another quest (graverobber ,lizardman, and something else.. cant remember). Then I'll probably get it.. Haven't completed the second quest though..
