While playing fiesta as a cleric, how do you respond to other players cries for help, or attempts at a party with you for being a cleric?
I help just about everyone I meet, and try to heal, and rez those who ask me for it, (Even those who just say REZ or HEAL, those are annoying but im a cleric so answering them is my call. I also give away stuff since I dont mind helpin a lot of noobie clerics I meet, in fact I gave away my Augmented hammer away to another cleric who was struggling, if it helps I give it to them. I will help anyone who finds, and asks of me, as long as they are not idiots or stupid about it.)
How do most of you answer when asked to rez, or heal, or even asked for advice by somebody??

I tend to try and help, although I really wish people wouldn't try and party me if I'm wandering around a low level zone. (level 36 atm, Orbie on bijou, why I can't get to level 37 after trying for 2 straight weeks is beyond me)
If I have anything to spare that might be of better use to someone else, I give it to them. (I even give pets away if I have an extra, but I'll never give up my Honeying)
There was one person once in the forest of tides, she had just died, and didn't know what to do, so she started asking for help, and I came over and revived her. (although I let her and the surrounding new people know that revive is a level 20 skill, so they shouldn't expect it all the time)
My favorite thing to do is to find people going for their job change quest, and even though I can't help with endure yet, I give them my stack of hp potions that I stockpile and never use. (the reactions I get are really great, so I don't mind doing that at all)

I usually try to help. Some people are irritating, but if I can possibly make it over, I'll help them. As for parties, I rarely join a party. The exception being Kingdom Quest or those special level areas such as the Marlone Secret Dungeon or the Graveyard. But I too give my old equips to new clerics. And the HP Pots too. Lol.
(Funny thing is, even on my Fighter I tend to give away what I can to help people.)

people dont usually randomly ask me (sometimes in KQ if a party is missing a cleric, or if their cleric isn't keeping up), but i do run-by healings, restores, rev's, and cures. hahaha, even if im fighting a mob if there's a lone fighter or archer near me ill take a sec to heal them before i go back to my monster.

I will sometimes heal random passerbyers but only when I'm rather bored or don't have to worry about my SP being depleted. I revive anyone and everyone I can.
I do, however, keep a blacklist of people that are ungrateful. I refuse to reward bad manners and poor treatment of a person. Behind almost every single character is a human being, so treat them like you would if you were around them IN PERSON. You get what you give with me.
People who give me orders (forget the please) are not healed. I will do my best to heal any mage or archer that is kiting their behind off (provided I'm not preoccupied with keeping myself or fellow party members alive.)
My most annoying revive experience was an archer in MT. I couldn't get a fix on him so I failed to heal (but he wasn't in my party LOL no real big deal, time to revive.) The monster was left so I had to kill it off. My boyfriend and I start nuking it and the dead dude goes "rez". I'm trying to kill the spider so it doesn't kill me when I'm reviving him and I'm not making my boyfriend tank it (he's an archer.) I can SEE the guy needs a rez. I brush this off since LOL he's dead, I can let it go BUT when I revived him, he just ran off without a thank you. XP
^ I no like people who do this. People like that make clerics grouchy and cynical meanies who laugh at you or ignore you when you ask for revives and heals. They indirectly ruin the game for people who need clerics and directly ruin it for some clerics. No one likes being treated like a doormat. :(

People who randomly ask me to join their parties? lol. I block party invites and unblock them right before KQs. :)
I seem to constantly get stuck with cleric-abusive parties that don't understand to carry potions and stones in case your cleric's heal isn't enough to make up for your poor defense or worse, your cleric pulls aggro and has to focus on their own survival. XP
So I party with the few on my friends list that have proven to me they'll treat me as a living being. ^^
I refuse to abandon my party too. lol. The only time I ever left a party was when the others became extremely abusive towards me because I "wasn't healing fast enough". There is this thing called cooldown... I have put skill points into it, but you still have to realize the use for pots and possibly stones. =.=
I've had 2 experiences where I nearly got killed just so I could revive my boyfriend or another party member. One was in LS1 and the other was up against King Marlone in Marlone's Hideout. I equipped shield and vitality scrolls, healed myself to full and immediately began the revive. I survived King Marlone too! Yay! lol.
Later I got killed LOL and that's why I always make people get another cleric in addition to me. You need a second cleric incase the other one gets lag or needs a revive. I'm really getting sick of explaining this to people.

Yeah, walking through CP I get a lot of party invites...but sorry, I really don't want to plvl people unless I have loads of time and/or they're good friends (Falco, plvl yourself already, jeez). Otherwise, if I'm walking around maps and someone needs a rez or a heal I usually try to help them out, whether they ask or not (I'll also help low lvled players with certain quests, but that's about the extent of my plvling).
And the whole buff thing...I'll buff anyone who asks, but it does get tedious after a while when it's just a constant 'buff buff buff.' I do love it when people take the time to ask nicely--and I'm sure a lot of clerics like that, too. Constant buffing and healing does take up a lot of sp, and half the time people ask for a buff I'm either grinding or talking. Take that into consideration people, if you would; clerics don't have to buff every single person who comes by, so don't just barge into their business, get what you want, and then run off. It's always nice when people ask "Could you buff me please? When you have time..." Then I'm more likely to buff them sooner and I feel bad if you don't. XD
Otherwise, clerics are there for healing and rezzing...if you're a cleric and the only people you heal/rez are your party/guild members or no one at all, then go play another class; there are three more of them.

LUNA you are soooo right! I really dont mind healing people as Ive said before, but when it comes to HURRY UP! REZ OR HEAL! that just ruins the fun out of me for it. OUR freakin cooldown for REZ is like 30 SECONDS and that is that WHY CANT THEY UNDERSTAND THIS!! :P Ahh, but it doesnt matter, in the end I do forgive people because they are human, and go right back to healing them. I don't really hold a grudge against anyone for even I am sometimes ungratefull, and dont realize it till later.
You LUNA have had a bad experience, with people, and I am sorry for u. I have too, and Im sure everyother Cleric has at one point or another. However, I for one do tend to not judge or even try to bother with arguin over someone for something so trivial. If they want to argue let them. I wont bother, if I remember the person, il just ignore them later.. :P
SO, if you need help or a cleric to help u level, well find me, and if not too busy, il gladly help, because as ive mentioned that is my job, as a cleric...
Thanks MAC! :P I am a dude, so :)....

I heal people in need, I revive if I can make it there without dragging a huge train, I cast Cure, though I rarely party despite all invites.(Prefer to level mostly on my own pace and farm at the same time for equipment)
At times if I see someone struggle with a mob; I cast Invincible or the regen-spell on them.(17 seconds are so funny with a 1k shield)

what buffs do clerics have?
Atmor
11-28-2007, 05:51 PM
If I have time and the SP (which I usually do) I will add what few buffs (only the poison/illness resist one at this point) to whoever I see if I am like running through CP or whatever, but it is what I do. If someone is in a party with a cleric that I believe should be able to do their job, I won't heal their people, because we might double heal and waste SP (hence why I like being the only cleric in a party, less SP wasted on double heals). Otherwhise I will help anyone that needs it, rez where I can without getting killed by whatever killed them, and overall just do what I can. I too keep a blacklist...and you had better hope you never get on it...

My reaction depends entirely upon how the person acts, if someone says please and asks for a rez and gives their location (God I hate when people ask for a rez without providing their location), then I'll happily rev them, if I run into someone dead I'll rev them unless they're saying something rude or I had previously had bad experiences with them.
I'll heal just about anyone if I happen to notice they're being mobbed and I'll try to help them fight the mob, too.
I never help anyone that I see who are rude, repeatedly KS, or train on other people. I've flat out refused to rev someone near me because I had previously seen him get two lower level people killed with a giant mob train.
So it just depends on the person. ;)

Only level 11 so far, so that limits me to healing only so far. But when I'm walking anywhere I click on people and if they don't have full HP I heal them until they do. None of them say thanks, but it doesn't bother me because A: They didn't ask for it and B: they rarely know it was me. If I see someone fighting a difficult monster I'll heal them till they kill it. It's nice when they say thanks, but heck, I became a cleric to heal people like crazy, so that's exactly what I'm gonna do. I'm sure that when I get the ability to rez people I'll start being pickier about who I help out, but that's still 9 levels and the job advance quest off.

Well, I like to help people so if i hear that someone died close to me, or if I see someone in troubles and i'm not dying in this moment I'm helping. But still I like to fight alone and usually not going to party, but I still can if you have a good reason :)

I'm just gonna keep ignoring people who just ask "REZ ME" in the shout and give no location because i don't feel like running all around the map looking for one person who's too lazy to look their location from the map. Not that i don't like helping others but i can't read minds so if people truly want a rez they will tell their location. Otherwise they can just hope for someone to pass by.
I don't really party that much since it always gets to the point where all the lower lvls start asking for an invite. Pretty much the only times i party with anyone are when i need to get bosses or if my friends ask me to help.
I usually just heal and buff those who are in my party or just clearly need it or ask for it, but i won't go running around clicking everyone i see if they need healing or so.
And i agree with Luna, it's really nice to have another cleric in the same party. If people could just realize that. It's really hard to keep your party alive and yourself alive when you're laggin badly..and hard to go on and just relog if the party gets attacked all the time. And seriously some people trust in clerics healing skill way too much. We have cooldowns on our skills too! And it's no good if the cleric is so busy healing the party that he/she doesn't have time to heal him-/herself. So people should stop whining about the healing except if the cleric is clearly doing no healing at all..at that point i would think that the person is playing the wrong class -.-

About 2 clerics in party - so true. For me a perfect party consists of 2 clerics (at least 1 with rez on lower levels), tank, some other strong fighter and 2 mages.

I enjoy helping anyone i can. It helps both of us if that person would give a clear reason of help (like - died and coordinates).
If they just shout "Help me" I'll ask how.. if I can't, at least i reply the reason why i can't :]

I would really like the party to have 1 other cleric besides me and eather 2 figters and a DD or 1 higher lvl fighter and archer/mage. Not that i wouldn't join any other kind of partys ^^
Sometimes - if i'm not busy - i do ask people where they are if they're just saying they need a rez. It doesn't nessecarily mean that i'm going there but at least someone else will know where to go if near.

Meh, If I'm passing by someone and I'm not in a REALLY bad mood then I'll stop and try to heal a few people, and I usually revive people as I pass by them, but if they cry "res" or "heal" too many times I just go about my way; there's no need to keep spamming heal or res.
To the thread starter: be careful with just giving people stuff; there's a lot of people who will take advantage of that kindness and others who will get the wrong idea and start bugging you every time you log on for handouts and powerleveling.
And to the comment about having two clerics in the party: That one's shaky; I run into a lot of cases where i'm one of two clerics in the party yet I'm the only one healing all the other party members while the second cleric just keeps on fighting...those kinds of two cleric parties are not fun

I still say clerics should go on strike lol >.<
Nah, Ill always help someone if I can, but all i really would in return is a thank you. Most do, but there are those (*stares* you know who you are) who just leave. Clerics definitely get abused though sometimes...like when we are fighting something, and someone comes up and asks for a buff, without saying "when youre free" or something at least. Even better is when they get killed while youre fighting, and they ask for a rez, then a buff again! Or else when someone gets like 5 mobs on them, and they die because they cant handle it due to their own stats, and abilities, yet they blame the cleric...
*takes a breath* anyway, yea, im happy to help, i just want a little courtesy back is all lol. Just because we are clerics and its our job, doesnt mean you have to be rude about it.

Yeah, I just recently started as a cleric (level 17 now) and was totally blown away by how many invites I get to join parties whenever I'm travelling, it never happened like that with my archer! :)
I do the same thing with healing though, I usually just click on everyone that I see walking by/fighting mobs (even while I'm fighting) and will heal them, most people are very appreciative. I do get a little frustrated sometimes when people are inconsiderate and spam "HEAL" or "REZ" (to which I can't help yet anyway), but I guess maybe they're not very good with the keyboard :)
On KQs I was getting frustrated because it seemed I could never get into a party even though I make sure that all my party members are always at full HP (since I can't rez yet figure mine as well keep them all full), but it just seems to be luck of the draw I guess.
Yesterday I was able to double-KQ (one right after the other) on King Slime, and many of the people I was healing in the 1st (who were NOT in my party) partied with me making it alot easier to keep the tanks fully healed. What was pretty funny was that I was healing so many people so fast that I ended up pulling aggro on ALL of the little slimes (and Queen Slime) during the fight. I couldn't type anything like, "Hey will someone get these crazy slimes off of me" because I was too busy healing everyone else (Didn't want tank to die), but luckily after about 2 or 3 hp pots on myself someone realized that they probably wanted to keep me alive and shouted, "Help Tryllan, Keep Him Alive!" -- it felt nice to be appreciated (besides that HP pot stack was getting too full anyway).
Gotta love being a Cleric!
P.s. About giving out items, I think that's awesome! I've given out items to obvious new players and try to sell items below the market price to help people out (although I have very little $$ now because of it). I still have not had the benefit of meeting generous players who are just trying to help me out yet, but I guess what goes around comes around so I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep being generous and hopefully there will be more players like you all!

I heal only people in my party and those I can visually tell are in a bind and might need a quick heal or cure. I DO NOT go gallivanting around trying rev everyone shouting for help on a map, but if I see a man down I'll usually give them a rez...with the exception of ksers/boss crashers. And sometimes in places where there is allot of competition and I am in a party I will only rez people in my party...sometimes I would rather you die and we get a higher chance of reaching that boss before hes killed and we have to wait an hour for him to spawn again...I chose to tick off that 'random guy on the floor over there' rather then the people in my party that I 'need' to keep happy in order to get to a certain boss. Thems the breaks peoples:p And as always...politeness indeed counts for something in the minds and eyes of those around you. I have been known to go above and beyond for someone who is polite and courteous...and the rude ones I will walk right on by...

Most of the time (about 90% of the time to be exact), I will heal people. But, if they're rude, I won't. I do heal people without them asking, but if they beg obnoxiously when they don't need it, or they do need it, I probably won't help them because I don't help people who get on my nerves. Thankfully, I know and have seen very few people like that in Fiesta.

I just stopped playing my Clever Fighter (Due to disliking it for some reason) :p.
Unfortunately I also always noticed people spamming for heals, I felt bad for the clerics who had to deal with people like that..So I made a Cleric! :p
Only level 14 at the moment but as above, it is amazing how many people are rude and just spam your pm's asking for "Heal" or "Party" (since I can do the Phys Dam/Def skill and heal).
I just recently did 2 KQ's last night, in the first one someone put 4 clerics into 1 party  which..was weird (Killed myself to get out of the KQ :D). But finally in the second one it was more orgainised and had a Tank, 2 mages, Archer and myself to heal.
The only problem was the archer thinking he could tank and consuming alot of heals for me that I could not use on my Tanker .
I will always heal people who need trouble (people on my friends list and people I see taking Boss monsters etc) and most of the time I get "Thanx" or the like back which of course, makes you feel loved :p
(I Have also had some guy try hit on me because my char was female..boy was he shocked ).
The only problem I would have is some people thinking "Wow we have a cleric in our party we don't have to heal!". Even though I mention for people to have their Stones/Pots (Like in the KQ, because of the Archer not using his stones I nearly missed the Tank & Mage in healing cause of the cooldown) they still think only I should heal!
But I love Cleric, in most MMORPG's I love playing support as I like to help people and am a big talker/friend person so I help people with quests (regardless of times) or info, of spare items if I can spare it cause if it helps them have fun in the game (and of course they are nice to you) its worth it :)

Hehe, to the thread starter, I find that we are very similar, not to feel self-righteous or anything but yeah I'm a cheerful giver and cleric.
Let's see, I have what I'd like to call "Helping Range". It is simply within my screen and if I realize I can do something to help you, be it I saw your question in normal/shout, or I saw you approaching me, I automatically try to help. When someone comes up to me, I already figure out it's for buff so I give buff immediately. I find myself buffing 5 or more people at a time because like I said those within my line of sight I'd gladly help.
For heals and rev, well I am observant of my surroundings, so if I pass by someone obviously not a cleric and soloing, I throw them a heal when I can and buff them at that. When I'm in party and I see another party having trouble or got wiped out for example in dungeons, I make sure my party is not in any danger and I rush off to help.
Hmm, yes I still do these things even I'm getting mobbed or what not. Even if they don't say please. I dunno, I don't take those stuff seriously so if they have manners or what it's not my problem. However I do whisper them to tell them to be more polite next time because other clerics besides me do not appreciate it. Helping is fun for the heck of it so I don't care if they appreciate it or not. XD
If you don't get a reply from me, or I don't buff you immediately, chances are I'm AFK, or having a serious talk with someone that I didn't notice you. Normally I also buff all the people I meet as I walk or run but when I'm in a hurry I have to really *resist* buffing or helping. As for rev, I always stop to give rev when they need it. XD I was a mage before and no matter how politely you ask there are some people who'd choose to ignore you. I know when one is afk, so that excuse for not helping won't work. In the first place, I wouldn't even go asking some people when they are afk or really busy.
And I think as a mage before, I never understood how much of an effort it was really to give a heal or rev or buff even if you're talking to someone or taking a mob (I mean come on clerics have auto-attack). So when I made a cleric, I wanted to find it out for myself, and now that I've made a cleric I can say it's not that hard really.
*shrug* I guess it's a matter of preference too.
As for giving out stuff, yeah I do that randomly too. O.o Hmm, about being careful for abusers, I jsut encountered one, and that one person is not enough to make me stop helping people XD.
One thing I don't like is pleveling much. It's not so much as I hate the idea itself, if I can I would really like to help you level at least one level. But the point is I hate grinding solo, I can tolerate it when I have someone to talk to in guild chat or whisper or in shout. So if I myself don't even like to grind, don't go asking me for pleveling xD. Another thing is, I don't like pleveling because I'm a cleric :S I'm full end cleric sooooo... it really takes a while to kill things. >.> So yeah, if I were a mage maybe, I'd consider helping people with levels. But as a cleric I can provide other form of helps so yeah I stick to that: heal, rev, buff or give out some items I have no use for.
As for the issue of having two clerics in party, I appreciate it as well. Makes grinding more fun because I can talk more. XD So If i fail to heal, I'm quite sure the other cleric won't miss healing the tank or someone else XD

I believe that Outspark made clerics a stronger character, than other games do, to attract more people to this class. With more clerics game will run smother for everyone. In other games, where clerics are seen only as 2nd line players, who canīt survive without the help of others, there are few clerics, and a lot of people disturbing those who follow the path of faith.
When alone, I try to help everyone, specially mages and archers facing mobs. When I find someone dead, I rez without request. I like to help younger clerics even with my old equipment. I have even helped entire parties more than once. I believe that its part of my job. Better, older clerics helped me many times, without request, so I am not the only one.
In KQ I help everyone, its not only a question of behavior, it is a matter of survival. In KQ if one fail, everyone fails. You must help everyone. Of course, I like to make my kills, but if you watch the KQ carefully there will be always a pretty mageling in danger, help her and save her day. And, please, let the fighters do theirs jobs, because, they canīt do ours'.
Leveling? This has nothing to do with my job, I help people in danger. I would only do this for a close friend. My advice, find a cleric of your own level and party.
In Parties, I help if possible. But, if I am bounded to a group I will not put the party in danger just to help someone.
About people who ask 'heal' and 'rez', well there are many foreigners in the game (like me),many speak poor English. So, maybe, they just use the words they know. Also, there are children playing, you canīt expected too much from them, some donīt even realize what a KS is. Do you think that they read forums or something?
One last opinion, Cleric class is for patient people who do not see competition, in a game, too seriously. Maybe you are not the best killer on the server, but you can be a hero for someone. This is the path of the old knights.

Well if someone asks me for help i would help, but i hate people who send random party invites (except in KQs of course). Even if I ask them what they made the party for, most people don't reply and say something to the effect that I needed help. I hate that! I then just quit the party. If i need help i'll bloody well ask for it!

^^ I love being a Cleric and being able to help people in need.
Although, I am a person who loves people who are kind and use manners. I heal people and revive them without request, but if someone is constantly dying, the same person each time or someone is shouting heal 50 times in a row, I always remind people to use some manners when around Clerics. I feel that we might become under apperciated if we let the people get away without using manners. ^^
Then again, Im just weird like that xD <3

I love helping people out. After every two or three monsters I kill I'll look around and see if anyone needs a cure - I'm only lvl 17 atm, so I can't do much else! If I'm travelling then I'll often stop to heal anyone who looks in trouble (like the Archer with only 3HP left who was fleeing with all her might from a monster).
It's early days, but I've only had one rude person. "HEAL ME" he said, then came back a few minutes later and said "HEAL". I hesitated, then healed him anyway. He actually said "THANKS" after the 2nd one! Not sure if I'd heal people who do that again though. I'll heal anyone who isn't rude when they ask.
I've had one great experience. Someone I'd been regularly healing, who said "Thanks" a lot, and who never came up and asked me to heal her. She eventually approached me and asked my level, said she had a mace with raised stat bonuses and it was mine for free. She gave me the mace and off she went. I was so shocked and pleased at this kindness that I went off after her, we formed a party, and I leveled her up.
I did have one person say to me "You're not like the other Clerics, who never heal other people". Either she'd been rude in the past or, judging by the amount of people in this thread who are glad to help, she just got unlucky a few times.
Love being a Cleric, love healing. If you're fighting near me then I'll look out for you whether stranger or friend.

How do most of you answer when asked to rez, or heal, or even asked for advice by somebody??
i try to do the same but at times it get a bit annoying and i cant even buff with my cleric yet

I do like to help when a cry for help is there but there are days when I'm just a little tired of seeing a cry for help on my screen. One time I didn't buff and I pretty much got swear at.
From level 1-46 I never ask for a buff. I did fine without a buff.

Yes I agree that clerics are strong. We can clank! (cleric-tank) I was in Battle Ground yesterday (level 60-69) and it was just two clerics and two mages we did GREAT without a silly figher to help us.
Cleric forever!

:)I'm happy being a cleric... the skills are ok, but the attack skills are lacking... i mean, it's just bash, hopefully they add another attack skill in the near future to make the cleric class more enjoyable to play... :D :D :D
