Quick magic burst question

Is this worth putting 5 into damage? I plan on mostly PvE'ing but don't want to have a dead talent with points in it in the long run. Thanks

No you wont and +5dmg magic burst is nice for holding aggro if you wanna tank something :o

Like winty already said, Magic Burst is an aggro magnet, if you are going wizard at 100, you'll still get upgrades from that skill, it should be worth to do it. (I dont have the +5 into it tough)

i deff think that 5 point to dam are worth it somtimes nova and inferno leave just a little bit of life left and when you got a mob on you magic burst is just enough to finish them all of at once to avoid 20 hits from almost dead monsters ...also helps alot when you plvl people it steals aggro away your trainiee

I tend to not use magic burst because often when I do I end up being a dead mage...yeah what ale.wilkins said. Leave tanking to the meat shields if you can find one who isn't an ax wielding psycho who laughs as you die because they can't remember where they put the "mock" button.

Do any of the higher level mages have points in cooldown on burst (obviously WinterClown does)? And do you use it at the higher levels often?

I have 5/5 into it and use it even when AoE because of the instant cast. 5dam is insane.

I used to have 10 points into burst when my mage was perm 49 and up until she was 69 I left them in. The cooldown effect was only 0.8 seconds I think but it helped. And when I hit 55 and started to use a spark set it was mob burst run burst dead. I'm going to wait for 100 and when I pull my 10 points off fireball, which is now a useless upgrade because of insta cast MB, I'm going to check the empowerments again.

And woops sorry for the necro I was looking at burst stuff and forgot to check dates. Also my mage was permed for Honeying so that is why I sunk the points in initially.
