What was your first MMORPG? [Archive]

Mine was DarkAges it was a game by Nexus back then. I was addicted for a long time played it since beta and then gave it up when World of Warcraft came out. This isn't Dark Ages of Camelot or any of those.

I played WOW for awhile but it lost it's entertainment value when most of my friends from DarkAges left.

Now I'm here to play with this game looks like so much fun can't wait to try it out.

Also played no particular order....

Asda Story - down too right now waiting to open for open beta again

mine was MapleStory...that's right. Maple. the 2d world.

Other games that i've played/am playing:

StepManie (not an MMORPG...but threw it up here anyway)
Dance!online (like SM, but MMORPG style)
Ghost online (2D, like Maple...but better)
Fiesta (duh)
Nostale (adorable little things, but very crowded)
Flyff (to past time, and not a lot of people, and not to much lag)

I had the exact same situation, although I don't know how old I was when RO was in closed beta. The first MMO I REALLY got into though was Final Fantasy XI online when it was first released in the states for the PC.

ehh. i forget what my first mmorpg was. but the early one that got me hooked was RO. i've played so many MMO's i've lost count. F2P or P2P i've probably played it!

Eve was fun, but it wasn't so much of grinding as it was Timetaking. it was well thought out.

WoW, just sucks. it's got content it has some Balance issues. Nerfing da Facking Paradin.... *RawR* but, it's toooo simplistic. if you know what i mean.

I dont Necicarily like any of the Guild Wars, or Everquests, i didn't play Galaxie's because when i was gonna they already f***ed it up. read about it. you'll understand what i mean.

i wish i got to play darkages of camelot that was a good game.

thats about all i havnt played and i really dislike. i've played nearly every single F2P game. and Most P2P games.

FFXI was agood game, but it was party based, Techinical, and could seem liek a grind session. it wasnt really one of those begginer mmo's any younger kid would normally think it sucked because how complicated it could get. most younger people and peopel new to mmo's tend to like solo

When i was a kid i played neopets. but that isnt realy a MMOrpg....... it counts as disapointment.

runescape brought me into the world of mmorpg's but i didnt play it for long nor was it the first MMORPG i played.

i cant remember the first i thought of it a few mins ago but now its gone. god damit.

off topic: anyone seen that heavy metal 2000 movie? its on my T.V right now and well. its strange

Tibia and runescape , first 2 ...can't remember which first ....somehow tibia still interests me quite a bit after like 4years ... if I can pay for premium I will surely play tibia ..no credit card =(

Neverwinter Nights was my first i guess. but i started playing many MUD games using Telnet ect but they werent really mass multi more like tiny multi.
Anywho, from there i CB tested UO then went to be passionately obsessed with Diablo (dupe bug FTW!, casting teleport on players FTW...ahh the memories.).
Ive always tried to play every mmorpg that has come out and my favorite had to The 4th Coming.
