I've always been curious about this. what is the point of upgrading the skill invincible? it doesn't last any longer and it costs more sp.

Well adding onto your already invincible power sounds already too good to be true.
You overpowered piece of character you. :P
Any way. Did you try looking for cast times or cool down?

The skill isn't really "invincibility," but a damage-absorbing shield. It ceases absorbing damage whenever its timer runs out or when it has absorbed the maximum amount of damage, whichever comes first.
At lower levels, the timer usually runs out long before it absorbs enough damage to fail. From reports I've seen here, at higher levels the opposite is often true.
Upgrading the skill (ie, from Invincible[01] to Invincible[02]) increases the max amount of damage it will absorb- although for some reason, OnsOnSoft chose to remove the amount of damage it will absorb from the skill's description at some point in the past. (Again, this information gleaned from older threads I've seen.)

Putting one point in duration increases is by 2 or 3 seconds... been a while since I played my cleric. So if it does last before it absorbs too much, you got a few more seconds of "invincible."
I had the cool down on it too at one point but it did almost nothing.
That's all I did with it ;o

If not upgraded, the skill becomes useless after a while. The dmg amount it can absorb raises as you upgrade it, so Invincible[03] absorbs more damage than Invincible[02]. Unfortunately it's not clear how much it really absorbs, but if we say for example that Invincible[01] absorbs up to 500hp dmg, it won't be any help against monsters dealing 1000+hp damage. So i'd suggest you to upgrade it everytime you can. If you want to raises its duration, just use skill points. Fully empowered, it can last up to 17.5 seconds. But it's your choice to use skill points on it or not. :)

As mentioned, higher tiers of Invinc absorb higher amounts of damage (though the exact numbers were inexplicably removed from the skill descriptions some time ago, and OOS apparently is more concerned with "fixing" things like our run animations than fixing incomplete/bugged skill descriptions, but I digress).
As far as empowering is concerned, I am ambivalent. Empowering duration can give up to 17.5 seconds of effect time, which is extremely useful up to level 60 or 70 or so. After that, however, Invinc simply cannot absorb enough damage from high-level mobs to make empowered duration worth it.

Oh that upgrading.
Lol thought you meant skill points .0.

I suggest that you don't empower invincible at all, at 60+ mobs will be tearing it apart long before the duration is over. you shave off 5.4 sec of the 2 min cd if you fully empower the cd which is next to nothing although the [10] version will have it at 36 sec. This is just imo but i really think empowering invincy is useless :/

It's not worth empowering. You'll need all of your skill points for all the eventual heals. The left overs should be put to bash pwr/cd, trip/bleed cd, etc, but up to you.

That's news to me, I use it all the time to take hits that would normally kill me when resing another character..
You can't res and heal at the same time.
To the OP
Yes, it does have a limit as previously mentioned.
If you get hit by a big boss it does put a dent in invincible.
If you look at the skill stats it tells you the range of damage that it will protect you from.
Most Clerics that I know max out the duration time and the cool down time to get the most from it.
I disagree with those who say it is not a useful skill as I find it to be very useful.

Rynax is correct. After 60/70, Invinc is very often overwhelmed long before its duration is up, espcecially when you are dealing with hard-hitting mobs (and/or lots of them). The CD is also bugged, so empowering it is worthless.
Also, the skill descriptions (if that is what you meant) no longer show how much damage each tier of Invinc can absorb.

Fully empowered CD works for me... i timed it to be sure.

A Lot has changed I guess.
I left my Cleric at level 76 and pursued my Archer.
It's been a while since I have put any leveling into my Cleric.

I wish empowering effect time or power did something for the amount of damage it absorbs rather than the duration of the skill seeing as it's broken pretty easily in the higher levels. It's a nice second saver but not worth empowering it the way it is imo.

I think she means all other versions besides the 8x only take off 5.4 seconds with full empowerment on CD :\
