If your a mage you know that its hard to solo because of your low def. useing a def. scroll and a power scroll gives mages a boost wich helps when attacking stronger monsters. You will need healing items but you will not use as many as you have been. If anyone knows a better way let me know.

I'm a lv 28 end/spr mage and atm i solo in bats spiders and ice vivs fairly well. Haven't grouped there since and i use 1 stone per fight. I make more then enough to cover the stone use just by selling the drops so its win win.

Wanna know a great way to solo? Cash Shop pots, and do a Self Magic Burst AoE. Mega hardcore exp.

just hop a cleric into a party and jsut duo anywhere just dont take big mobs maybe 1-3 monster a time no waste of hp at all and still gain great exp and $$$ so yeah

To solo I follow some guidelines:

I try to fight mobs I can kill before they hit me more than twice
I select a spot where I know there are no spawns
I select a spot where there is no regular traffic of other players so I do not get trained
Of course pull one enemy at a time

Sure biger monster award more exp, but with mage is more a question of how many than how big since we kill "weak" enemies really fast, that means 15s which is the cooldown of most our spells, the ideal situation is when u kill a mob just before the first spell (typically Icebolt) u casted is ready again.

lvl 38 mage , tips i guess for soloing - make sure you got plenty of hp pots n stones. Focus the skill empower points on lower cool down on magic misslie and fire skill as it has less sp usage than the other 2. Always use a combo as this can help with cool down times eg. missile, fire, missile, ice, missile, lightning, missile, (and fire should have recovered soon). Also don't just stand n get hit either hit back by hitting with staff-little damage but is useful on reserving sp when monster has only a lil hp left.
Another tactic is run and hit, run and hit. This however only works when you have a safe area to run back into (i use this on goblins in GC).
If attract more monsters than planning you kinda either run or fight, just uses lots of stones and pots and i find running better.
If you can get a buff from a cleric these are great.

hope that helps in a way.

to solo , just stick with mobs in ur level
and with good use of high DPS combo

if u want to level up fast, just go to party and quest

for the possible highest damage,
just dun save the sp,
dun argue about higher level of ice bolt or lighting bolt spend more sp,
but only dealing a little bit more

a bit more means it may save u from 1 more hit by mob
just simply means u may able to kill without any damage received(prefect)

i dun remember clearly at what level i do with which mob as all are past tense for me
but let's just start with level 20 in sequence

speed boogy-> smart phino-> little lizardman->grave robber->baby bat-> gold slim -> bat -> spider-> zombie ->hoe->bone imp-> goblin-> goblin swordman ->werebear-> harkan -> weakened orge-> vampire bat-> prisoner->karasian soldier->junior archon->pixy

avoid mobs which are ranged , skill using or illness like procks (poison and ranged), skelton archer(ranged), arch mage book(stun), vampire bat (poison),
king coll (skill), mansic staff (mana burn), ghost(fear)...etc

reasons are simple.....i think dun need to answer

for high dps combo, just check other post and find the one that fit ur need.

but something have to mention,
solo is slow and expensive if u stick with wrong mob,
think about the stone, potion u needed per mob and time to sit in mushroom for recovery.

and solo is risky as no one will heal, totally DIY

final...as mentioned as the top... damage is all u need..... go and train ur license, critical rate will also be increased, for example, completed werebear license will give u 3% more critical rate, orc license will give u 5% when complted

that's all i have to say
dun be mislead by some person who said cash shop potion and aoe alone
only stupid mage which dun know how to solo will say that

and the real final, werebear @ GC are nice, lots of uruga scroll and silver lumps were dropped, i have never bought any uruga scroll from other pc and have sold out uruga scroll for 200s while 10s each, no doubt that, i have reserved some uruga scrolls for my own use XD

good luck to all mage who are going to solo, lol

Only sensible option for an opening skill when soloing is Ice bolt (at least until level 49 when new skills are available). It has longer range and great chance of slowing enemy allowing a couple more hits on mob before he closes in.

Beyond level 49 with more powerfull skills available but with the drawback of casting times it may be better to open with something else. I'll have to experiment when i get those skills.

mages can solo as long as they have the right stuff parctically justhave some hp/sp pots and stones and also equip lower class spells like firebolt[1] and magic missle [1] they might be weaker but u can deal damage on your opponents faster :P

Sand Hill or Burning Hills are good spots to solo around lvl 25. Pick a good spot with no respawn points and be curtious to people who already have a spot....KSer galore last night, tho. -_-

Soloing has been fairly easy for me (so far), just reaaaally time-consuming. :p

I don't usually have to use any stones or pots if I pick a spot near a bridge or near one of the gates, unless a mob train is coming through >_< Also depends on your SP, really, you can kill a lot of these guys before they even reach you or hit you once. So I can usually kill about 5-10, then I rest in my safe spot and wait for respawn.

=] boi mage is easy solo, but if u want to kill with less pot/stone burns.. i would suggest green mobs =X

I can solo without taking a hit most of the time. I start with ice bolt, worked most of the time, lightning and fire bolt, then spam mm1 as I run back. Easier done with a speed, vit and def scroll. Make sure your kiting trail is clear. Higher Ice bolt seems to work longer I think.

It worked so far on harkens, werebears, hobs, bone imps and others. I tried and see which mob I can kill without getting a hit and grind on that. Harken is my latest one at lv46.
