View Full Version : A few thoughts....

Hello everyone!

Here are a few thoughts I felt like I should share with the community:

During the PvP event today, many people were upset because I would not let them watch the match. They said that the old GMs would let them, that I was mean, I didn't care, and that I was "fail". Please understand that I would love nothing more than to let people watch, but time after time, people have been found cheating in PvP; spectators set up pot shops, buff from afar, abuse a specific type of glitch, and so on. The best way to curb some of this cheating is not to allow spectators in. Perhaps we can work on this and come to some middle ground, but for things to be fair, I can not allow the risk of someone off screen tossing out a buff or two or otherwise helping contestants

Many people were also upset by the fact that the event was not ranked by class, just by category. There are two reasons why the event was organized this way: reason 1, requests were made for this specific PvP arrangement and reason 2, many times only 1 player of a certain class will show up, letting them win by default...and by many I mean MANY.

So lets see if we can meet in the middle on class-specific events. I will be more than happy to run class-specific events for PvP (and maybe other events) IF the Secret of the Solstice community can resist using the words "suck" and "fail", in any context, via any medium (shouts, forum posts, whispers) for an entire week starting today. This would end September 3rd at 5:30pm PDT. If you guys can do this, I will be more than happy to do class-specific events.

Hahaha, this reminds me of when we had a "by the class pvp" and I was the only Warlord available in the game. Funny stuff. Too bad all the prize was just 2 Xen Stones.

Now actually class doesn't matter. After all, an Assassin won the Neophyte category PvP Class. I was unable to be present at the time, therefore I challenged that said Assassin to a duel (one even more fair being no sc, super items, etc)...and won, so I technically stole his title. :p

You win based on what ever goods you simply have. Not even level is the given victor in this case. This is why when people overhype what level you are it appears funny to me, being 16x means nothing if you don't have the items to actually make yourself "powerful". People complain about higher levels, but even if everyone was set to 15X right now, could easily still pick out the "weaklings" based on what items they have.

Looks like the rest of you guys who insulted the GM dun goofed yet again, and Panda is backtracing it, ready to inform the Cyber Police. Sadly, I have doubts the community will succeed, and soon panda will be bombed with "Da Hale! Wer mi xens pls?!". It'll be like fighting the very first form of the Amaranth Wyrm.

Get it right you guys or else...consequences will never be the same!

Very well said Charon. I would also like to add that Robo no matter what you do you are going to have those players who are going to complain, cry, whine. Its just how it goes. You guys are doin a fantastic job.

The way it was done before is there was a GM in the arena and all spectators were brought to the stands. All people who were competing were brought to the waitin rooms with another GM present and informed NOT to go out or you would be immediately disqualified. The NPC to the waiting room was closed off and the players in the waiting room were weeded through until those who didnt belong were gone. Then the fight could begin.

You cant pass to players when your in the stands. I dont think you can buy from the stand either but that would have to be checked on.

Like I said you will have people complain no matter what you do. You cant please everyone. Keep doin what you guys are doing. Those who are appreciative will show you that :)

come on, man. There are far worse, more commonly words used in game other than "fail" and "suck" especially when all you have to do is insert another character after you type one of the prohibited/ censored words. You cant be posterior/dorsal-hurt by these relatively harmless words D:

that said, i didnt even know there was a pvp event so i wasnt there >>
