Hello everyone!
Here are a few thoughts I felt like I should share with the community:
During the PvP event today, many people were upset because I would not let them watch the match. They said that the old GMs would let them, that I was mean, I didn't care, and that I was "fail". Please understand that I would love nothing more than to let people watch, but time after time, people have been found cheating in PvP; spectators set up pot shops, buff from afar, abuse a specific type of glitch, and so on. The best way to curb some of this cheating is not to allow spectators in. Perhaps we can work on this and come to some middle ground, but for things to be fair, I can not allow the risk of someone off screen tossing out a buff or two or otherwise helping contestants
Many people were also upset by the fact that the event was not ranked by class, just by category. There are two reasons why the event was organized this way: reason 1, requests were made for this specific PvP arrangement and reason 2, many times only 1 player of a certain class will show up, letting them win by default...and by many I mean MANY.
So lets see if we can meet in the middle on class-specific events. I will be more than happy to run class-specific events for PvP (and maybe other events) IF the Secret of the Solstice community can resist using the words "suck" and "fail", in any context, via any medium (shouts, forum posts, whispers) for an entire week starting today. This would end September 3rd at 5:30pm PDT. If you guys can do this, I will be more than happy to do class-specific events.
