I compared my mage's defence to my archer's defence and almost cried. DX

My lvl 69 mage/enchanter's Physical Defence - 538 total defence
[with no buffs/scrolls/cookies/partybuff/etc]

My archer/hawkarcher lvl 49's physical defence - 400 total defence
[with no buffs/scrolls/cookies/partybuff/etc]

People are telling me, even lower lvl mages, that their physical defence is higher then my mage's defence and and that my mage is "squishy" I actually am believing my mage is squishy becuz no matter what awesome rings I use, her stats BARELY go UP. e-e And no she doesn't have a enhanced weapon, no blues either, becuz no one buys my stuff at all.
But what I'm mainly asking here is...

Is my mage a bad stat a.k.a squishy mage (stat resets dont work well for some reason on mage) or is my archer..well..kinda have weird defence or something?

Cuz I was seriously surprised when I saw the physical defence between the two of my characters. e-e

nuuu ur not squishy D: my mage has what 560 def at lv 74? ur not squishy D: dont be so hard on yourself my mage is swuishy x3 unless the other player is another mage that is kus my mdef is 1.2k >_> and 2k mdmg +9 staff and even tho i have all those i still get rhaped at times especially by a fighter i have:

2k base hp
and 560 def

thats low for a mage my level so dont worry ull get better :3 kus ur not squishy and also

all mages r squishy so idk WHY another mage would call YOU squishey when they are equally as squishy unless they charmers

It's just cuz you're a mage. Mage's have awesome damage. But because of that, the only reasonable balance to the high mdmg is extremely low def.

I have around that same defense with a Sun Set.
~750 with my 7x gears.
