Ok, so I'm a level 46 mage, and I'm having a tough time level. I know, I know, it's hard for all mages. But I was wondering whether or not there was an easier way to grind/quest/kill monsters without any enhanced gear.

I've read the guides on how I should use mm1 and fb1, but It seems like I use 10 hp stones every time before I kill the monster attacking me with that attack pattern.

My current attack pattern is as follows:

Ice Bolt7 > MM8 > FB7 > MM8 > Lightning Bolt7 > MM8 > Magic Burst3 (if I need to use it)

Then I have to wait 10 seconds for Ice Bolt to CD before I can attack again. I've calculated the amount of abyss goblins I need to kill, and for half of my level, it's 315.

This takes exactly...

315 (# goblins) * 15 (seconds between each Ice bolt) % (divided by) 60 (amount of seconds in a minute)

Simplified...

315 * 15 % 60 = 78.75 minutes.

So it takes me an hour and 19 minutes to get half of my exp. Given that I don't stop, and I don't have to restone, get scrolls, get pots, etc. It's all perfectly straight grinding.

Realistically, I find this to turn into 2 hours.
If I didn't have any exp, It'd take me 4 hours of boring grinding to level up.
For the next level, it will probably take 6 hours to level up.

I need to find a faster way to level up. I've found a good way for a full END fighter, but I don't know how to master the mage. That's where I need you (the experienced, awesomely 60+ enchanter or above), the expert, to come in.

I'm a noob a being a mage. Even though I do better than most, I still feel like I do pretty bad.

If I do have to spend that much time into grinding, let me know so I don't have to continue trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to leveling up.

Thanks!:D

I kinda agree with that.

Now to the topic, u dont need to grind and specially as a mage (before level 60) because they are slow and ur hp stone capacity its so low also. I noticed u know wiki fiesta page, always use it to plan your leveling. I recommend you to save quests for the levels you dont have repeteables, the repeteable quests are most of the time the fastest and safest way to level because u can find a party and make it easier/faster many times.

I remember you, we partied for GGK remember? I'm DarkElf. At lvl 46 I believe you have the werebear repeat. Usually there's tons of people there, so just find a party and spam that quest. Always spam repeats, it's the faster then grinding. We were the same lvl back then, but you haven't been leveling much. ):

Two words: parties and quests. As I recall, there are quite a few 4x (and 5x) quests, mostly in GC (and SEG). I would suggest partying up and doing them. With a half-decent party, werebears and gob captains should be fairly quick and easy.

That being said, if you are having a hard time stomaching the idea of 4 hours of grinding...quit now (and cake will be served, immediately). I say this in all seriousness. Sooner or later (probably later, given the newer quests that have been added), you will have to do some major grinding if you want to level. The early 7x's have historically been rough, along with the early 9x's. You need to be prepared. :D

(Kinda? I completely agree with my newb status.)

Hey dude, how's it going? =) Yeah, I've started a fighter just to take a break from my mage. I love being a mage, but I love leveling a lot too. So I just started a newb fighter to satisfy my leveling addiction. I think I got him to 22 in 4 hours total...

Yeah, I've experienced that. I don't have a hard time with it, knowing nova is at the end of the tunnel. I was just wondering if there was some super-secret-awesome advanced trick I hadn't heard about. lol XP

That's wisdom right there.
