Hello, I was grinding in Uruga and my game shut off and when I tried to log back in I get the error

Unable to connect to patch server: <urlopen error (11001, 'getaddrinfo failed')>

And I tried to go the website and it tells me this page cannot be displayed and it is computer specific because I am able to log on with a diff PC to the game and the website

Count me in on that one too, it just happened to me tonight. I was playing just fine and then got disconnected from the server. When I tried to log back on I got the same error, and when I tried to go to the site I had to do lots of workarounds just to get to the forum. What gives?

Hello everyone!

There may be an issue with your Internet speed caused by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). If you are trying to update with our patch servers, or if the Outspark Launcher is saying that it cannot connect, this most likely is on your side. There are packets of information being lost between your computer and our host servers and if the connection is too weak, it will simply fail.

I suggest that you try to connect at another time, and/or contact your network administrator/ISP to make sure that your Internet Connection is working properly. Also, you should check on the following and be sure that you are:

1. You are not accessing via a proxy
2. Your Internet connection is stable and consistent
3. Any firewall(s) you are running are disabled

I hope this helps to resolve your issues.

No, this does not solve the issue. I have broadband, and not some crappy connection. Every other site I use, works fine. My X-box 360 is connected to a 16 player "Orange Box" game as I type this. The issue is NOT on my end. Or any of the other players here in this forum... If anything it just makes us mad. If you dont know whats wrong, just say that.

Too many people who were playing just fine are suddenly having the same exact problem, this is not our issue. Something must have changed at the source that is only affecting a limited number of computers. So, if we can figure out just what our computers have in common we might be able to narrow down what has happened.

I work in the game testing industry, so I know that it is not easy to narrow down what issue causes a certain bug. So instead of complaining about not being able to log on we should be looking at what we all have in common to try and narrow down the search for a solution.

My system is running:

Windows XP Home Edition 2002 with service pack 2
CPU: Pentium 4 3.00GHz 3.01GHz, 2.00GB of RAM
Connection: 2wire High-speed wireless modem.

I don't know if any of that info will help or not but at least I'm trying.

I dont think its our ISP issue since it was working fine since I installed the game. Also all my internet games work like WoW, guild wars etc. It's some thing that you guys change on the patch today that make everything fubar. If the problem was just me not getting to connect, I will aggree with you most likely, but there's alot of people having same problem with the error connecting to patch.
Also I dont reccommend people disabling their firewall it's a very bad idea. I have 2 firewalls going to protect me from hackers and it works fine playing this game and any other games I have until today.

Ok, folks... I don't know if this will help anyone else but here is what I did to get back on the game.

I decided to check if the windows update changed any of my computer settings. *Pashakitty has a love/hate relationship with MS Windows* Some how it changed one of the settings on my wireless router. It set it to using a proxy, (MS) to access the internet. I switched it back and then had to uninstall and then reinstall my Outspark launcher, (+ all updates) now all is working fine again.

Click on your start button (its the windows symbol). Now go to programs (all programs for vista/xp) Accessorys - system tools - System Information (click that) a screen will pop up. Copy and Paste that into your post (ctrl +a then press ctrl + c. then ctrl+v ((select all, copy, paste)) ) that's how you get the information.

well i have not had any luck with any sudgestions and my comp does not auto update so nothing got changed the DNS thing was only for the website and not the game. but i have confidence they will figure it out. as i said in another forum on this it may be aggrovating people but this is still a "Beta" and not a full version this could be a timely thing thing anyone who has delt with programming know that bugs are rarely an easy fix

a sedgestion on what could be wrong though i doubt it is : numerical simularities between the IP's that are having this issue but this is a stretch becuase i doubt everyone running the game having this problem has comp that are close enough in hard ware to be the issue and being that majority of the masses still use XP i dont think it's an OS issue either (if you use vista and have issues with anything...it's just vista lol) im sure they will work hard to fix it and i hope to play tomorrow becuase i know and understand that it is a "beta"

Hey Cloud it's Jaci, can't connect either. I'm low tech so I can't tell u guys much about my pc other than I can't get onto fiesta. I know it wouldn't make u drool! I run vista, cpu 2.8 ghz, 1000 mb ram, nividia geforce 8500. Use comcast broadband. Asked the former guild master to pop on and let u guys know I couldn't get on. A friend of mine is having the same problem as you guys, but he can't also enter in outspark website *that's why I'm posting for him*. When he double click on the Fiesta icon, it opens the Fiesta Launcher, but in the Launcher it says that the page canot be found. also it says that it can't connect to the patch servers. It has been the almost whole day. :(

I really hope it will be fixed soon, since the problem is during a long time.

I recieved- Unable to connect to patch server: <urlopen error (11001, "getaddrinfo failed")>. Twice when it is searching for launcher and updating. Then when I try to log in it would not let me THEN when I x out the window it says see the logfie 'C:\Program Files\Outspark\Launcher\outspark.exe.log' for details.

I was able to finally get in...played for about 5 minutes...everything was working fine until for some reason I couldn't drink any potions. So, I tried to relog but after I got out, I couldn't get back in again

none of the three possibilities would be consistant to solve my problem unless u've changed things around on ur end. if it were firewalled (the most possible of those options) then i would have had this problem from update number one (and i haven't) unless u changed where it comes from or whatever.

also, i checked since there were other people with the issue, i can still get into the game even though i still ahve the urlopen failed addrinfo message. when i go in and then exit out again, i get a message that i need to go to that exe cite for further info

Thank you those of you who have submitted their information, we have now determined that the message you are receiving is a generic network error message. You could receive it anytime your machine can't resolve our servers.

It could be because of the following reasons:

1) Your network is down or your LAN cable isn't fully plugged into an Ethernet Port
2) Your wireless is going in and out and does not have a consistent connection
3) Our DNS changes have not updated in your ISP's records

We believe the majority of the users affected are encountering issue #3 and it should resolve itself eventually when your ISP resets your DNS which occurs usually every 24 hours unless you have a static IP. If you have a static IP you will have to contact your ISP directly and have them reset it.

Seems all of us are having the same problems in logging in and uploading the launcher to start the game,, Im having the same problem too since 3 days ago and was talking to a CSR and he told me that they are working on this problem and we have to be patient.
i have done many ways i know personally on how to fix this my way. ive done installing and reinstalling the game and manually downloading the patch but it still getting the same problem..

on the START button click Command Prompt

On the Command Prompt..

Type.. ipconfig <space> /flushdns

try launching the game if this helps..

If not.. Go back to the Command Prompt and type

ipconfig <space> /registerdns

so this will refresh all DHCP leases and registers DNS names..


if still not working try CLEAN BOOT <copied this from community leader SHAHARED>:D

Attempt to run the games in a "Clean Boot": If the above has still not solved your problems, there is an easy way to determine if another program running on your computer is causing the issue. To do this we are going to "Clean Boot" our computers. To do this press the system/windows key+r to open the run command. Now type msconfig and hit enter. This will open your System Configuration Utility. Now do the following:

1. In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click the General tab, and then click Selective Startup.
2. Click to clear the Process SYSTEM.INI File check box.
3. Click to clear the Process WIN.INI File check box.
4. Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
5. Click the Services tab.
6. Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
7. Click Disable All, and then click OK..
8. When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer.


if you still receive the same error messages.. try contacting outspark by clicking HELP on the upper right corner of your screen,.. click an article and click SUBMIT TICKET... furnish all requierments needed and your complains so outspark will get back to you within 24hours upon receive of the ticket..
