Clerics are generally a support class, but they can solo. They shine as healers for damage dealers, such as mages or fighters. Try finding a party to go farm for jewelry or armor.

That's about all I can say about clerics, since fighters are my specialty.

thats my tip, and I'm sticking to it.

Contrary to popular belief, clerics can solo.
Look in the cleric forums. In my opinion, you don't have to necessarily follow those guides to every letter, but they do give you great background information. Also, look at individual posts as well, see what theories there are flying about.

If you're going to go the heal-slave route, just remember not to be a total pain in the neck about buffing and healing, and even helping out with killing spawns if people ask you. As a healer in a party, there's a high chance that the blame will be placed on you for everything and you have to accept that. Even if it's not your fault, you should be able to tolerate supporting an unskilled party for the short time you're there. Then, it's your problem to deal with any drama that rises.

My final advice: Experiment. Find what works for your playing style. Nobody can tell you, nor force you to choose the exact stats or strategies that are the "best".

And if that doesn't work out, place the blame on the fighter or damage dealer in your party... Just for fun and if you have nothing else better to do. It's funny to see how people reply sometimes.:p

Contrary to popular belief solo clerics suck :/ I LOVE HEAL SLAVES. If youre saying youre making some sort of crazy pvp cleric build ill just tell you right now. I cant kill a heal slave and yet i can own a so called pvp cleric with half a stack....basically solo clerics are about as effective as full int fighters and full str mages.

Clerics can solo.

Clerics can be heal slaves.
They can also be heal kings that rule with iron scept- er, hammers and maces. If someone is getting the entire party killed, you can threaten to withhold heals until you are given the title of party master and can then kick any disobedient member. But you have to be good to pull that off. REAL GOOD. If you're an ok heal-bot then it's probably not the best idea. x.x

Sadly, you can buy a cleric thru the Cash Shop or do without one with epic gear.

Ok, I just had to come in again to clear the air on this subject to try to give some help.

You do not need to buy cash shop items in order to be an effective cleric, or replace the cleric in your party (whether the cleric is more of a healer or a battle cleric).

PvP and soloing as a cleric have differences in my opinion. Consider this: can you predict the exact weaknesses/strengths and moves of your opponent in PvP? Battling monsters on the field is pretty straightforward on the other hand.

Don't let the post above discourage you, you can be a solo cleric and/or a PvP cleric and/or a clank. However, if you find any of those difficult, look into... *drumroll* Strategic planning.
Take a while to work with the skills you currently have. You may find "skill chains" useful instead of pressing buttons mindlessly. Do you know how the heal spell works in these chains? Did you know you don't have to watch the entire animation for some skills? Have you ever worked with restore and rejuvenate? What about your general battle approach?

After knowing how to work with your cleric for a while, you will determine where it is best to place skill points for you. Do you appreciate SP reduction, cool-down time? And who knows, you might find yourself investing in some nice gear, but you don't need +9's or something extra godly. Also, you may benefit from experimenting with both the mace and the hammer (if you have not done so yet), so you can choose a "main" weapon. Perhaps you will switch between the two as some people do, but you may prefer one over the other like myself.

Most importantly, remember:
- Don't whine and complain just because you're a cleric. If you have to, do so to yourself in your head.
- If you still experience a little bit of difficulty, or are discouraged if you see another class killing something faster than you, that slight challenge will keep you interested in the game! If you're not worried about this, then that's great!
- Have fun! Even if you do something that looks stupid, who cares? If you die, who cares? Does it matter? No. Just get back up and keep going at it!

:)

Yeah, they actually are.
I think they're listed at 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 million sc.

How to get rare drops:
http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244892

Fast ways to level:
1. Follow around a mage and duo.
2. Follow around an archer. Less expensive than following around a mage, but it may take slightly more time.
3. Follow around a fighter. Not as squish as the other two and you can fight along side him/her if you want.
4. Solo. Expect to take most amount of time. If you are not in a hurry, this is actually pretty cheap. You are not pressured to burn through your stones. You just have to know how to pull mobs one at a time and rest.

Tip: Always do your quests. If you get repeat quests, do them repeatedly. When you run out of quests, go after enemies that are at least 10 levels higher than you. It will give you more exp per kill. STR/END and 25 SPR build can take down enemies even 20 or 30 levels higher.

Dungeon bosses: Clerics work fabulously well on Zombie King no matter what build you have. But by the time you reach Torture King with full STR, you may be too squish to take this guy down solo unless you use SC items. These bosses can stun you. You need to be able to survive when these bosses stun you and you can't heal while you are stunned. Put some points into STR, 25 SPR and the rest into END. It will take longer for you to kill, but you will actually survive and get the kill. If you are going to use SC items, go with pure END. I saw a pure END build with SC items leveling just as fast as any fighters.

Finally, you really can't mess up with clerics.
-If you can't kill, get someone else to kill for you.
-If you die too quickly, get someone else to kill for you.
-If you get bored of bashing, get someone else to kill for you.

The biggest downside to cleric farming is... it's very easy to KS them.

Yes, a good point.

Dragonleather, if you still want to farm the dungeons with your cleric past Zombie King, go and find a secluded location where no one even knows you are there. It's frustrating if another person comes in and just ks the boss that you were working on for 30 minutes. Fighters are the best farmers. I'd say the best way to farm is to party with a fighter. The fighter will appreciate your heal.

Or maybe the cleric is keen and Fraps while doing a bash marathon. That would be an awfully big file to send to a CSR for proof of ksing. xD

CSR Will send it back saying "We have a life. If you want it to be viewed, please speed it up."

Clerics were pretty much made for levelling with a mage. Mages generally have low defense, low HP but the ability to destroy a mob within seconds. If you marry a mage your experience as a cleric will be quicker, but maybe not easier. That will depend on your mage.

But this doesn't mean you can only level with a mage. Another DD class is more than capable of helping you with quests, grinding and farming. You just have to be friendly with people, and make sure you heal them so that they at least don't die every minute because of something silly like you wanted to kill something.

Cleric is the least expensive in terms of SC. But depending on server could be more expensive for gearing up. They also go through stones quick. So that eats money. Although sometimes they can get away with not scrolling when other classes usually do.

Although I have not actually played for a while my tips should be more or less accurate to certain stages and degrees. The rest is up to you. Have fun.

my idea: if ya wanna be a non-stop heal slave, then get spirit up to heal lots before using a SP stone.
