Hello! I am Asa and I was just wondering. Did Outspark ever make any attempts to balance the PVP features of Windslayer? I played a long time ago and the last I remembered:
- Throwing could not be countered
- A rare throw glitch would freeze a victim until he/she was struck
- Swords were generally underpowered (moreso for the paladin)
- Rogues were overpowered in the mode(s) where actual stats applied
- Mages were overpowered in the mode(s) where actual stats did not apply
- Weapons with elemental properties provided little-to-no effect
- Leveling was mildly tedious (but those kind of things are to be expected..)
I moved on to other things ages ago, but I still admired Windslayer to this day for its potentially engaging PVP options. When I decided to leave this ages ago I figured that by now, significant/necessary changes were made to make the game more enjoyable. Long story short, did anything change over the years?

Come to Rawr.
You'll see.

This odd terminology that you speak; I am afraid I am not following. It's been years since I played last after all. I guess Rawr is a guild of sorts?
(EDIT: Oh I see; the sig suggests that it is a guild invite.. I may come back once I figure out how far along this game has come over time.. I skimmed through some of the recent updates and it didn't really look like there was anything too significant, but I could be wrong... hence why I asked in the beginning.)

PvP Glitch is still here. Which also effects FastCast.
So,it hinders players. [Shrugs]
Just don't spam constantly or try not to get glitched.

Doki instead of "advertising" actually help the person out
1. Throwing has some sort of invincibility stage the instant you grab
2. The grab glitch is still there sadly and players have found ways to do this glitch however not many people do it (Also there is a glitch where you freeze like Doki said where if you spam a lot and get hit at the same time)
3. The Warrior class using swords isn't that underpowered you just have to use your skills right (including paladins)
4. Rogues can generally be annoying depending on if they like to stun a lot etc. and how fully prepared you are to fight them
5. Mages are overpowered but they're also one of the easiest classes to kill so it's a balanced trade off in my opinion
6. Elemental properties that are put onto weapons have a slight increase in your elemental attacks of the same element
7. Leveling can be hard but all you need are trustworthy friends to train with but most people don't really concentrate on this most are in PVP
So in general PVP hasn't changed much... but some people go on just to chat and stuff so I guess thats good in some way for some people.

Thank you for your feedback. I did a little snooping around between now and the time I started this thread. It sounds as though there is not much the staff can do about the core of the gameplay which is a bit of a shame, but I guess life can be complicated like that.
My original character was a paladin; it felt silly to me that all of their skills were party buffs that only offered a little aide. When compared to the skill sets of any other class I can think of right off the bat... well... yeah.
As far as the elemental properties go, it was very hard for me to see changes in attacks of the same element. The swordsman has one attack of each element and it was hard to see a difference.. but maybe I would have to do more investigation.
If I remember correctly in the Rogue's case, its main stat increased the power of daggers, increased magic defense, and as far as defense was concerned, they had some skill that always absorbed some damage from physical attacks. It seemed like a broken combination at the time, but maybe I'm overexaggerating.
I'll probably try again soon.. my main character's name is Asa. I'm likely to have to start over in terms of making friends, but thanks for replying and hope to see you soon~
EDIT: Even though it's probably not possible at this point, my suggestion for a PvP balance would have been a slim opportunity to cancel an opponent's grab. In the first phase of the grab, if the victim could quickly tap the quick attack key, the grab could be countered. Throw cancels these days are a standard after all.

-Throwing? You be grabbin'? It can be countered.
Dependin' on which class you are may effect how fast/slow you grab them then to throw/push'em.
Staff - Mage,Priest.
Bow - Archer.
Fist - Monk.
Dagger - Rouge.
Sword - Warrior
SideNote : Also,if you're grabbed then a player on your team uses a skill while you grab the person still in grab mode.
They may get hit, even pushed out of Ice and you can repeatedly do that.
- The GlitchFastCast(Or GFC,GFastCast). You hafto hold your Skill first while you grab.
If you grab then skill,it may just "freeze/stuck" you for the CoolDown.
Applies only to PvP..
Explanation : I'll use my BeastMaster ; Tamer.
The Game Function goes by what comes'first. By first,iMean if iTake out an animal it has cooldown 'til iCan take out the 'Same" one next. And iHafto wait 'til iUse my whistle to attack.
Example : Only Applies to BeastMasters
iTake out Emophant. It has cooldown of ## Seconds.
If iUse my whistle to attack. I'll be able to walk only but iMay not attack, jump,or do anythin' other than walk.
The moment iStop or fall off the ledge I'll be stuck/freeze.
Once my cooldown is down.My whistle will now active its'attack.
SideNote : THIS HINDERS BEASTMASTERS A LOT EVEN IF THEY DO "TANK."
Thus, the reason why iQUIT Tamer. overall.
SideNote : Archers,Mages,Priest are severely Hinder to this skill. They need to FastCast whereas melee(rouge, warrior, monk) don't need to.
My InPut : It takes moar actual skill to not GFC.
If you're 1v1in' and you GFC when the other player cannot. There isn't a real reason to celebrate if you have an edge over'em while theres a Glitch.- SMH due to the fact iKno' people who do this.
If you're gonna 1v1 while usin',you might as well take the hit of your opponent without blockin' to make it "fair."
The other way of glitchin'/freeze/stuck is.
If you're about to do a skill and someone hits you while you're attemptin;.You'll glitch.
Example : Mage Vs Archer
Mage is 'bout cast a spell. The Archer's quick "weak attack" interrupts'it.
The game function takes the weak attack "first" since then Mage's skill wasn't completed(casted).
The Mage will be glitched/stuck/freeze 'til the Skill's CoolDown is done and you'll automatically attack with it. and be able attack with the same skill again if you wish.
- Warrior's Sword.
I'm guessin' you're directin' it at.. Archers?
Archer can use "Focus Boost"(Increase attack) and take out a Woody and hit MORE Damage than the Warrior.
Paladins are usually more support-type due their aura. They can help you in advantage with your Increase Attack x2,1 Def or Defense x2,1 Attack. Bubble is also useful if you use it,right. You can take like eat 500DMG+ XD
InPut :
If you're goin' use your Sword,go practice NovicePvP. That is main object for Sword-Users.
Unless you're a Zerker that spams'constantly. You don't need it.
Zerker is mostly 'bout Timin' and Spammin'.Anyone can do it,I've try'd it and didn't like how my targets "flashed" in front of me because it seem lag me(My CPU wasn't used to it,perhaps).
Paladins are wha people call "Support." They're quietly deadly if you have NovicePvP Skill(or the StrongAttack doin' 360).
-Rouges..
Depends on you go against them and/or the class you are.
Healin' is good...Always (:
They fix'd the Trapper's 1 Kill Combo Puppet.
Trapper use this famous(or infamous?) glitch : Grab(While droppin' a bomb) and still able use posion.
Few Trappers users have said this is a Glitch.
Some Trappers aren't aware it is a glitch,Let alone non-trapper users.
SideNote : Wait and listen for their footstep + you can see "dust" when they land/jump. Click block when you're in the air to land so your dust doesn't appear(Glitch?).
InPut : Sin,iThink are underpower'd.Their skill don't hit as high(Uh,250DMG?) but they have support skills to help'em.
-Mages..
Well, with the Critical System in placed. It can be seen as OP'd due to the "Crit","Good" hits orr it can be seen as good thing for they may hit "bad" a alot. iSee it as luck for Critz,Bad hits.
If you're hit with Criticals, you're most likely have half your HP gone or dead(Ice+Fire)
Some mages can hit bad,normal/basic hit, good,Critical.
Lot of Elementalists,very few Summoners.
SideNote : There is a glitch for Summoners that a lot players abuse when they kno' 'bout it. If you take out 3 fairys, you can "glitch" whatever is on your character to dispel negatives.
Example : DarkPriest usin' Ssiyo,Counter usin' Cart,Monk usin' Taunt.(Only the ones,I've seen),Rouge's Posion.
Summoners hit by a negative skill and take out(or already have) 3 fairys out.
They "Dispel" the negative skill.
InPut : Ele'z are easy to kill and use. Summoners usually have moar skill but not anymoar since the increase of'em ..and majority just use Meteor,lol.. They ruin Summ's Class :/
-Weapons..
Eh,idk much 'bout this kuz iHonestly just care if it has certain help on it.
It does some help but not as much. Its'moar notice-ble when you're higher lvl(65+?).
This is only good for ULTM,Lvlin'..
SideNote : Jewelery helps and does make a difference in PvP(Any type). If it didn't,people wouldn't be usin' it in PvP*Any type)
-Lvlin'..
It depends on wha you're lookin' for.. iUsually just meet players who want it for ULTM,Certain Item to Wear,Certain Map.
InPut : All you really need is Lv49 unless you're Sniper then its Lv41.

They don't have the lowest HP.
They're all 900HP.
And Monks/Warrios have the highest.

Has it been a year already? Lol. I'm trying to get a new comp, which will take me a few semesters worth of left over loan money to buy. Lol. And getting a job. *sigh* Or get one for Christmas or Birthday *daydreams* I would love to come back and hide, run, camp, destroy 1v1s, and win 1vXs like good ol' times.
