Welcome, to those of you who are tuning in late.

Aequitas Guild.

Minimum Requirements: 95+ at guild inception (soon to be 100+.)

Aequitas is a new guild being started with a different premise than most of the others. The word 'aequitas' is Latin for 'justice,' and the tenants of this guild will reflect that.

Background and Mission Statement.

I believe that this guild has been in the works for far longer than the short time it's been spoken about by name. It has come as a result of my, as well as several of my close friends', frustration with the way other guilds have been managed.

These objections include the laxity of punishment taken against those 'bad seeds' every guild seems to have, the general sense of snobbishness that entrenches itself within every guild's senior members, the endless inter/intra guild hostility and vendettas, and the vague and sometimes cheap nature of who gets rewards dropped from bosses or farming events,

Aequitas' goal is to circumvent these problems, using strict rules, enforcement, and cold hard math. Lmao. No, it's not going to be as lifeless as I make it sound. All we want is to get a tight-knit group of people all of the drops and exp they need in the fairest, most civil and intelligent manner possible.

Eliminating Bias (Points.)

What separates Aequitas from other guilds primarily will be the drop system. Instead of seniority, or votes, which are subject to strong bias, all drops accrued by the guild on sanctioned farming events will be bid upon by members using 'points' that they earn through participation.

For example, every complete raid you participate in will give you a certain amount of points. Say 5. Every hour of sanctioned SL farming will give you ½ or 1 point. If something drops on a farming day that you want and can use, you can bid using points, and the highest bidder gets it.

This way, participation is the ONLY thing that matters. And if you jump on the boat late, and some senior members just spent their points on a godly piece of gear, so long as you participate as much as they do, you'll be in the same footing for the next drop.

There will be an admin present at all sanctioned farming events or raids, who will tally and verify points. Every Sunday, a spread sheet of points earned and spent by all members will be posted to our forums, which will be up and running once I pretty them up. As you can probably assume, there are several nuances to the point system that will need to be addressed further. If I don't get to them here, they will be discussed in the forum.

The Social Dynamic.

The main appeal of Aequitas, I feel, is the stability of its social system. The point system sets a foundation of fairness, and the moderation will ensure a high level of maturity. All members will be held accountable for any and all offenses that bring distrust to our guild, that harm another guild member, or unjustly harm any individual outside of the guild.

When it comes to keeping everyone in check, and farming days, we will be as they say, 'all business.' Punishments will range from point deductions or temporary guild bans to permanent bans.

I'm aware that writing about punishment first makes us seem like a lifeless guild, but I want it to be known that there will be no room for drama or hostility within the guild. Only after that has been established can we really come to work together and truly enjoy each others company (except for the case of Indigo, where only after a few drinks can one enjoy her company.)

Also, since all participation will be documented, and points calculated, members will be free to come and go, joining secondary social guilds if they so please. Their points will remain intact upon their prompt return come raid or farming time.

We will be, however, an awesome group of people, so having social guilds will probably not be necessary. Haha.

Some Things to be Aware of and Nuances of Point System.

* If you are concerned that you don't want to join Aequitas, or have some problem with the guild because X Member is in it, do not be. There will be no toleration of whatever you suspect these people to be guilty of. Cheating from within the guild will be impossible.

* This guild will work as hard for you as you work for it! If everyone is willing to participate, I see no reason we can't progress together happily.

* You must be present when a piece of gear drops and have points to bid on it.

* There will be farming days for SL or LN at least three times a week. The days will be decided pending a guild vote. During these days, I would like to see two Aequitas parties farming simultaneously, with drops from either party being voted upon by all participating members who can use the gear. Only on such sanctioned farming days can points be earned, and only on such sanctioned farming days must drops be given to the bid. On other days, what drops for you is yours. Sanctioned farming days, however, will be powerhouses and will see much more success with spamming floor 10 for top/pants.

* Blues earned and purchased with points can be sold back to the guild to be bid upon by other members for half, or some percentage of the points used to purchase. This can give you a boost if something new has dropped that you really want, and are willing to give up some other good gear for it.

* Once a week, 1 gold can be donated to guild acad by each member for half of a point, or some value of points.

* Points will not begin to be earned until the guild is in full motion. Joining now would be best, while we're still hammering out all of the rules and getting some templates for public information ready, such as point sheets.

* Malephar will be carried out in accordance with the best interest of other guilds, and will be discussed in privacy later.

Any point value given so far is tentative. We will have to weigh the frequency of each event held and decide how much each thing should yield. We'll hammer out everything in detail in the coming week, but feel free to leave feedback here.

Also, know that because we're operating under a set of rules, at any point, a member can make a formal complaint about a ruling or point nuance, and the guild will settle it by vote. This is not, and never will be, an oligarchy guild. It will always be democratic, and will always be fair and reasonable.

Join, Join!

Post if you're interested in joining! Now is indeed the time, if you want to be a part of setting up our constitution. Otherwise, still leave your feedback.

first question imna ask is this. So the people that have jobs and lifes outside of fiesta will get nothing. So people who play 10 12 hours a day will have all the points there-for the people with less points get nothing even though they work hard when there on to?

Sanctioned farming days won't be every day. Points can only be accrued on pre-determined farming days, that will be determined by the majority of the guild based on its schedule.

This is how every guild does it in the real MMOs, lol.

Say there's 3 farming days a week. Two players. Player A attends every day, Player B attends only one of the three days. Say 3 points can be earned per farming day, and both players get a weekly point from Acad work..

...................Week 1..............Week 2...........Week 3
Player A..........9......................18.............. .......0
Player B..........4........................8............. ........12

In the graph, assume Player A spent all of their points. Eventually, since everything is cumulative, things will even out. This is no different than a player who never logs on to another guild. They won't get as many rewards as someone who's on every day.

My main will probably be 95 after Christmas so if the level limit is still set to what it is I shall join the Guild then.

Since you are making a power guild let me tell you, you need to be really careful -.-
I came from apoline to cypion to start fresh but this has happened before in apoline and it didnt end pretty :C
If things go bad ppl in your guild will start to get a little too greedy and break off and probably form another power guild with breakoffs from insanity, and they will have problems and create further breakoff guilds....
Im telling you nothing good comes from it D:

This has happened at least 8 times already, and Insanity was one of those 'new' guilds.
