no need for +9s or sc here.just spam rejuv and heals.
if a mob or two starts attacking one of the npcs run and prioritize them.
helps if you also run towards the mob when they spawn to get all the aggro, keeping aggro is easier than stealing it.
just remember, use your heals as mini mocks to keep the mobs on you.

I got mine done on the first attempt (I guess I was lucky).

All I can say is do what achickentender has suggested and that is to prioritize the npcs first then yourself.

That's the hard part for the clerics so good luck and hope you get to job change real soon. (:

What exactly are you having trouble with?
Do you find it more difficult to survive, take the aggro off Roumen and Elderine, keep Roumen and Elderine alive, etc.?
Also, what is your approach towards defeating the mobs?

You do not need enhanced equipment or SC in order to complete this quest. Your build and gear may change the way you perform this quest compared to other clerics with different gears and builds. However, this quest is not impossible. After all, practice makes perfect.:)

I am guessing that you are having a problem with your approach towards this portion of the quest, or you are unaware of how this part of the quest works. If you answer the questions above, perhaps we can tailor a solution for you as well.

I will give you some very basic pointers, but the other posts describe an effective approach to this part of the quest:

- T3 scrolls, and potions will definitely help.
- Roumen can take more damage than Elderine, so help Elderine first if attacked.
- You cannot heal Roumen or Elderine.
- You do not need to run around the entire map like crazy. It is pretty obvious where the mobs spawn.
- Heal and rejuvenate are both useful for keeping aggro and healing yourself.

As the above said, spam your heals and rejuvenate (even when you're at full hp) to keep the aggro. Well you can decide to run while the mobs are on you to:

1. Prevent the npc from stealing the aggro (even well there's an archer, but she still needs to approach in order to attack)
2. If your def isn't that good enough to withstand all of the mob attacks, run around

Other than that, just keep spamming heals etc...

Actually , I don't recommend a cleric to use +9s for this quest .

Because you don't need it and actually to all cleric who want to be a good pally , I highly suggesting you to finish it without it.[I would say that people who says they need a +9 to finish the job change is a marketing strategy, in order to sell their "useless" lvl 50 +9 hammer in high price (it won't help you much) ]

The aim for the developer to design this quest for cleric is to test their party ability (Even tho that you're not in party). So what this promotion task is trying to test if you know your class.

As for all other classes:

Task 1[Zombies]: Soloing Survival (Fighter Stuns+deva , Mage AoE , Archers Kite, Cleric 1 by 1);)

Task 2[Dice game]: Target choice:rolleyes:

Task 3[Keeping Roumen and Elderine alive]: Party Co-operation

For task 3 , it's the hardest part , but only thing you really need is ... to heal .

Roumen and Elderine will never have enough time to finish all the waves in 20 mins, no matter what class you're .

As a cleric , there is only 1 way for you to keep them alive , is to heal ---with both rejuv and heal--- to take off the aggro from Elderine and Roumen .

And what you'll face after 60 is also the same : Take aggro off the attack class( mage and archer ) by healing and supporting.

Tips for 60 quest with all + 0 equips:

Before you start:

Put on your Def/Agility/HP scroll ,Take off all your armor at the beginning, put them in to a quick slot bar.

Or an Alternate way, DON'T put your Def scroll on but agility and HP is a must . Put on your boots, but all other equips remain off and ready in slot bar.

There will be 6 waves if I'm not wrong:
Control the damage that the mobs will do on you by equipping your armor . ;)

1-3 waves : you should be able to complete these waves before it reach 12:00 , during this period you should let the mobs to do about 120-150 damage on you per hit . Use rejuv and heal. Roumen and Eldy shouldn't get down to 50% of their HP on this stage, or you should loosen up a little bit in order to get more aggro from mobs by healing yourself.

Armor Should be on: depends , recommend 1 piece or none. Shield also counts.

4th waves: Before they come , run to 1 side of mobs as they spawn and hammer anyone of them once before they reach NPCs, you should be able to get either Elf or Lizards full attention on you . Keep healing yourself . Try to bring Elderine or Roumen to each others if possible. Keep running and healing and use tab to hammer random mobs. You will have no time to choose, so just do it randomly and keep healing yourself .

Armor Should be on: depends , recommend 1 piece . Keep the damage around 120 per hit.

5th wave: Same for what you're doing for the 4th, but wear 1 more piece of your own armor. Keep the damage around 100.Remember to check out which of the NPCs got lower HP , try to get mobs off him by your healing and hammering.

6th wave(Last) : Put on your shield , because you need block rate . Your HP will go down very fast in this last round , so you can say it's actually the hardest part OR the easiest part for you to do. What you need to do is to heal and Rejuv and restore and heal and so on. You'll not have time to cast any attack skills because you'll need to spam heal yourself in order to get Most aggro off from Eldy and Roumen. You can try cast 1 or 2 if you want to risk yourself to fail because Eldy's HP go down very fast(like 10 seconds if I cast a hammer) in this wave , if you can't keep aggro on you means fail. But on the other hand , this part is quite easy because once you generate aggro on yourself , you'll take a lot more in a very short time since more of them will hit you once you heal and the speed of your HP to go down will be accelerated in a very short period , so it means more aggro can be generated by healing yourself. Keep the Damage around 60-80 , because if your HP go down too fast , you won't be able to handle it. That damage should be enough for you to generate aggro.

Put on all your armor if you did not put on def scrolls. Armor that you put on is recommended to have END on their status.( Add more HP means heal more :D )

Just remember , you definitely can out damage Roumen and Elderine in killing mobs(even with + 0 hammer) , but that won't get you much aggro , so it's better for you to heal yourself to generate aggro then killing mobs purposely.

All I said here is just a complex version of what "achickentender" have said ~ ^^

Aggro Control

* Contrary to popular belief, trying to attract aggro through spamming Heal and Rejuvenate is not effective. Healing yourself does however increase aggro on Mobs that have already targeted you. Mobs who have targeted the NPCs and have already been attacked by the NPCs should be killed first, as they are hardest to attract the attention of.
* There's less chance of Roumen and Elderine dying if you prioritize taking aggro off the NPCs rather than trying to kill the monsters. Especially if you are a Cleric, try to draw all the mob's aggro to yourself instead of killing the mobs.
* Another Cleric-specific tip. You can choose either to kill all the mobs as quickly as possible, or lower your defense to attract more aggro through healing.
o Most Clerics who go into the Job-Change buff up using scrolls and potions. Using a high-tier defense scroll will negate mob-damage and using a strength increase potion kills off the mobs quicker.
o The unusual tip is to remove your armor/to not use a defense scroll or in summary, do the Job-Change with decreased defense. The benefit to removing your armor is contrary to common sense; so that one may receive more damage and thus aggro more by healing. Because Heal/Rejuvenate generates only so much aggro as it heals, if it heals only a small amount, only a small amount of aggro is generated. This will greatly help you keep aggro on those mobs that are already targeting you but note that you still have to attack those mobs attacking the NPCs to get their attention.

There are so many advices here, so I don't know if you need more advices, but I'll just tell you how I did it.

- I did not put on any scrolls. That way I can spam heal myself like crazy. But if you are having trouble with damage, maybe this is time to use the strength scroll that you collected in Lvl 42 at windy cave quest.
- I took off all armors that didn't have STR. I always carry around two sets of rings. END heavy rings and STR heavy rings. So for this quest, I changed everything to STR heavy rings. And STR heavy hammer.
- Elderine is squishy. So when a mob attacks, I tab and one-hit all monsters around her. And then take all the mobs near to Roumen, tab and one-hit all monsters around him. It's not about killing the monsters. It's about taking the mobs to me. Now bring all the mobs away from those two. Now most monsters will be attacking you. Heal yourself like crazy, because your HP will deplete like crazy now.
- Now Elderine and Roumen will help you with some kills while you take the aggro and be the tank there
- Heal and bash repeatedly. And spam heal yourself even more. If any monster is running away from you, hit once the monster again to prevent it from going to Elderine.
- If lucky, you will finish this quest just in time before the time runs out.
