OK not to sound rude or anything but.... ***. Iv sent PMs to numerous staff memebrs, GM, CM, and CSR and have received no reply. Iv started a thread and while a couple other people posted that they were having the same issue, no staff member posted at all. Iv sent in a Ticket and received an email saying they had received my ticket and a tech support person would email me about my issue shortly, yeah that was yesterday evening and no reply yet and it was stated as Priority: Low (thanks a bunch). So lets just say im pretty sick and tired of scanning the Trooblshooting forum looking for a solution to my problem.
However, because i would really like to give this game a try, i will attempt this one more time. My problem is as follows:
OK so i played the CB and still had the software on my computer when i DL the OB client earlier today and installed it. the first time i attempted to launch it, the launch window came up, i entered my info clicked login. the login window disapeard and another screen appeared for maybe 5 sec, from what i could read it was an updater. then that disappeard as well and there was no further action. so i started up SoS launcher again, enterd info again and clicked login. again the launcher disappears, but only for a split sec. then it pops back up with my info still entered as if i never clicked the login button. and no matter how many times i click it, nothing changes. theres no error message. it just doesnt do anything. so after doing some research on the forums and some people suggesting to uninstall everything, both the launcher and SoS and reinstalling fresh i did this and still having the exact same problem.
Now im sure the first thing ur gonna tell me is " oh its a problem with ur graphics driver, u must not have the newest version." Wrong! i just got off the phone with Dell Tech support, had them walk me through and check and recheck to make sure i had the newest driver available for my card and i do.
Next in line " Do u have the correct Direct X version, 9.0c. and in reply i had that as of about 5 minutes into said phone call to dell and then they advised me to go download DirectX ver. 10. so i have that now.
As for system requirements, i blow em out of the water and the recomended i beat out too.
NOW all that being said, one thing that has occured to me is that while i do have the most recent video driver for my card, it is still kind of an old driver and it is possible that it doesnt have the correct version of OpenGL. i have searched for OpenGL that i could download and they seem to be somewhat secretive with there downloads.
If u think this could be the probllem as well then could u possibly post a link to a download for Windows XP Prof?
Also ill include a DxDiag in a following post so that u can see nay other info that may be helping in solving this issue.
Thankyou in advance!

Not sure if I can help, but I'll give it a shot.
First the graphic driver that you needed is this:
https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/gamesite/7-11_xp32_dd_54435.exe
So if you didn't install that with dell, do that. (that's your OpenGL update btw)
Now when you reinstalled SoS, did you go and delete the folder it was installed in after you uninstalled. Because sometime some file stays and there might be some older file CB that are still on your pc causing trouble.
Another problem could be lack of space on hard drive (wich I doubt)
Last thing I can think is it could be your firewall stopping SoS from connecting on the internet if you have one.

thank you for the help, i tried the link u gave and it says i have insufficient access, could u perchance host the update file itself somewhere that i could download it from?
i did not delete the old file but i can go do that now thoguh i have a feelin it wont help ( pretty pesimistic at this point)
lack of HD space is definetly not the issue lol
as for firewall i dont have one on and i dont have Antivirus atm either. ncase my wifi router's firewall was causing issues i bypassed it and drew directly from the modem and that had no affect.

My bad, should have tough ATI would block external linking.
Try this:
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/radeonx-xp
Download option 2 which is Display Driver
I'll try to have a more tourough look at your machine details see if I can figure something else.

ok that one worked and i was able to download it but during the installation it came back and said that it could not find any components to update and to amke sure i had the correct software/hardware for this update.
i think i know what the problem is. when u went to ATI.com and in the driver section u picked the Windows XP and then in the next column it has all there graphic card product lines and u picked the Radeon line correct? i dont have a Radeon, i have a Mobility Radeon, if u look farther down on that list ull see it. the only option downloadable for that is the damn Catalyst thing and it says its nto available for my comp when i try to download/install.

Well. I've had alot of problems with it and still have. Something, well similar thing happens to me too. Its not going to be resolved until the GMs fix it or whatever. Which might not be any time soon...God thats annoying. Anyway, so yeah, nothing will help, believe me, I've tried EVERYTHING. Something is just up with server in my opinion...

driver befor running setup.
Soooo what next lol, this really sucks and mackanno i dont think this is the games fault, i think its something i need oto do i just wish i knew what and i hope i can do it once i find out

OK so quick update, i found this program on this site : http://www.ozone3d.net/hardware_infos.php
and after u DL and install it and run it, it pops up with a window showing alot of the crucial info about stuff on ur comp including ur opengl version.
SO back to the problem at hand i have version 2.0.5279 from what i understand 1.2 is the highest version needed to run the game so it cant be that. any other ideas?

I'll try to create the problem you're having on my Dell PC, and see if I can figure out what fixes it. I have pretty much the same computer specs you do, so I'll try to figure this out for ya. If anything should happen, and you can't get a hold of me here, just contact me on AIM: iareruss
I have a different issue with the game, but no one really helped me in my thread for it. I even posted a screenshot. (The game worked for me)
