Axe or Sword?

Ok From all that I see, 2h Axe is loads better than a 2h sword

It hits harder, more crit and just makes more sense to use

But people still use 2h sword...Is it because of speed? or aim?

Can someone explain this to me?

I haven't wield those two yet. But theoretically, critical hit is based on low percentage. But Aim is how often u hit monster. Both the speed also varies.

Yea its basically couse swords are the classic "Hero" weaps and so on...but axe owns sword in fiesta thats a fact

Ok because I was talking to this guy while playing and he says that axes win hands down so I followed his advice and I love it so far

2H swords are the best thar fast and thay have good aim with an axe its slower and it miss vary often form my experance and im a lvl 41 tank StewieGriffin

A 2h with good stats, such as a green Sun sword, can easily overtake an axe in damage, while still retaining the aim and speed.
If you have a 2h that's better then an axe, use it. Otherwise, don't.

However, axes do have faster dps overall.

Axes for dds, shields for tanks.

2hs are just for show, imo >.>

There is no reason to use a Two-handed sword over and axe providing they have the same stats(IE they are green and have +19 str or something)


A faster weapon does not make it better in any way, especially with skill spamming.

Skills are the same speed weather your weapon takes 1.5 seconds to swing, or two hours. Id take a two hour swing speed weapon any day of the week.(If the damage scaled along to create the same DPS)


I'm going to list Two-hand swords and axes, and their DPS.
DPS means "Damage Per Second" not just damage overall.


LeveL 20 weapons:

Steel sword 61-87 damage, 60 aim, 4% crit, 1.3 speed.

Steel Axe 96-134 damage, 53 aim 5% crit 1.5 speed.

Steel sword DPS(low): 61/1.3 = 46.923
Steel Sword DPS(High) 87/1.3 = 66.923
Steel Sword DPS(Average) ((61+87)/2)/1.3 = 56.923

Steel Axe DPS (Low): 96/1.5 = 64
Steel Axe DPS (High): 134/1.5 = 89.333~
Steel Axe DPS (Average): ((96+134)/2)/1.5 = 76.667


Right out the gate, level 20 weapons; The axe does about 20 more DPS(Damage per second) Than the sword, This isn't counting the extra crit.

over a 1 minute period The sword will average 46.154 swings @ 74 damage a swing which is 3341.396 damage (Before crits)

The axe will swing 40 times @ 115 damage a swing, which is 4600 damage(Before crits)

Since 1% crit is basically a 1% chance to effectively hit once more(Since crits are 200% damage) 1% crit is basicly 1% more damage over time.

So for the sword, 3341.396 * 1.04 - That means the damage times 4%
For the axe 4600 * 1.05

Sword (With crit) Damage over one minute = 3475.052
Axe (With crit) Damage over one minute = 4830

So with crit factored in, you are doing an extra 1354.948 damage.

The Axe did 39% more damage.

Thats just auto attacking, which is where the Two-hand sword has it best. When it comes to skill spamming, the Axe is the clear winner, I don't even need to do the math for you to see that when you take weapon damage and add a certain value, and strike at the same speed, the Axe wins easily.


When it comes to aim, I rarely miss, even red mobs. There are also Aim scrolls that are very easy to come by. Each level of Axe has about 87% the aim that the sword has, yet it does 39% more damage(Just with auto attacking).

Axe does more damage, Sword looks better (To most people)

One hander and shield for when you are getting pounded.

Pretty simple.

The axe just misses way too much. The 2h sword isn't exactly accurate, but in my opinion it beats the axe.

I've seen people use the 2h Sword over the axe because of accuracy and swing speed. I, myself, and others, use the axe due to higher damage and crit rate, and the fact that you can use scrolls to make up for accuracy. Honestly, if I was really concerned about attack speed, I would switch to sword and board. Its faster swing speed, lowest damage per strike, lowest crit rate, but gives highest defence, shield block rate, and fastest swing speed. All in all, its up to personal preferance of the person playing the Character.

Only depends on the situation. If you have to tank a lot then the extra defense of the shield is a good plus. Anyway, your 1-hand-sword will do as much damages as a cleric does (even less if he uses the hammer) so doing almost the lessest damage isn't that attractive.
Other side would be the axe which makes your fighter to a real dd by dealing almost 3 times of the damage as a one hand sword.
But as I mentioned it always depends on the situation and also on the experience of the player behind the keyboard. ;)

To all who think a 2-handed-sword is better then axe read Killmour's calculation above and if you still aren't convinced because of the hit chance, well, a cheap tier 1 power scroll will always be enough to make it out. Also I wouldn't fight orange or red mobs without that scroll. ;)

Ok here is answer. So fighters have 3 weapon choices. 1h sword 2h sword and axe. 1h sword is fast hase most aim, BUT hase less damage and less crit.
2h sword is in middle so its avarege, good dmg good speed and good crit. Axe hase alot dmg but slow and has less aim. I use 2h sword because its most... ugghhh useful to me. and if you want it do deal alot dmg enchance it using eyes to +9.:cool:
