I've spent at least 3 hours doing 2 downloads of open beta and everytime I press log in, a few seconds later, it keeps saying "Fail to connect to internet". This is getting ridiculous!!! Anyone have any suggestions with what to do? I don't want to waste an hour and a half with another download -.-;;

Ive checked my internet over and over and dont believe its that I try to log in then when it says its processing update info it just gives me a error message "Failed to connect to the internet" I believe the problem lies in the SoSclient file but thats just a hunch, hopefully it will be resolved soon.

i have the same problem. its something having to do with security settings that dont allow you to connect to a dns server. my old computer can barely run the game and has no antivirus, but it works, however, my good computer has lots of antivirus and firewalls and it wont let me connect to the internet for the game.

Then take down the firewalls?

Indeed, the number one problem with connection issues lately is one thing...firewalls. You likely have a port blocked that SoS requires to connect 'or' if you have something that works like ZoneAlarm you need to set SoS to have the right to act as a server and have access to the internet. Sounds to me like SoS is not getting access to act as a server, which is what it needs in order to play. You can use the internet just fine...cuz that is not the same as acting as a server, that's just access to the internet. Good luck figuring it out:D If you need help post what kind of internet security you own and maybe the community can help.

i dont think it has anything to do with the firewall because i have the exact same problem, when i get to that updating thing once i log in it says i cant connect to the internet. so i turned my firewall off and tried and i get the exact same thing. oh and btw if you log into the site and look under your log in name it says Fiesta = on SoS= off. that might be the reason, because SoS' servers might just be offline right now. (which is what im hoping for) but any further help from anyone on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Well, they did have a problem with users who had already created an account having trouble accessing the game...if that is still the case the workaround was creating a new account...My suggestion is go to troubleshooting and read all the stickied threads regarding connection issues as well as installation issues and see if the mods have posted a workaround/fix for the issue.
