apart from magic skills,ect...what else that make mages special? what made you choose to be a mage in the first place anyway?

um...i chose a mage because mages are cool, and wo doesn't want to be a magical god or something? unfortunatel, the main damage comes from spells, which are expensive(at 20+)....but its still fun throwing a firebolt with chains on i at a lvl 1 slime when you're 27 and hitting lik 4000 on it:)

you guys aren't helping me to decide what class i should choose...i'm interested in mage because of their magic skills but the lack of defense....i'm hesitating...

Anyway, you didn't say you were deciding on what class you wanted to be. You just asked what their specialty was.
Mostly people choose being mages for the following reasons:
1. They like making ULTRA damage
2. They like shiny effects...and armor
3. Just because
