Newbie with question

Hi! I just started playing fiesta last night (lv 5 fighter), and I got a question(obviously). Ok, so how do you use abilities (or skills, don't remember the proper term)? I bought my first ability, but I'm at a loss at how to use it. I've right clicked, left clicked, dragged, cursed at and verbally abused it. Nothing would work.

So....could you please help me?

Drag and drop it on your hotbar. Then either right click it or press the corresponding number to cast it. Unless it is a "passive" skill. they affect you but are not castable.
