I’ve been both on parties and soloing so far, and while parties can be good enough if you get a good one, if you’re unlucky and get stuck with newbies it’s just a waste of time. And well, soloing is not that bad, but is also quite slow.

Just kill off enemies with a white name and you'll get there quickly. Lower leveled creatures will still be white, so go as far out as you can untill the names start turning pink. Go back a portal or two and that should be a great place for your leveling.

Contrary to what you may think, killing higher leveled things doesn't make you level faster. You might get .20% more exp for every kill or soomething, but it takes you longer and is more taxing on your money and mana. Much more efficient to kill slightly weaker ones in greater numbers, aye?

If that doesn't make sense...
ex: It takes 30 seconds to kill one red monster, offering 1.5% exp. Thats 3% per minute, 180% per hour. It takes 10 seconds to kill a white creature at the rate of 1.0% exp. You would get 6% exp per minute this way and 360% exp per hour.

Those aren't exact numbers but the theory is still more or less correct.

I'm 25 right now, but about to be 26... I find that I can level up faster if I'm with a party so long as there are at least 3-4 other people in the party. I manage 3 lvls a day with a party like that.

Well, basically I have found out that being an acolyte (to me) seems to be quite boring. Though they are useful in the way that they can heal and buff (which proves to be very important), but overall they are considerably weak as they are not able to solo and must be in a party in order to level quite fast.

Well well, I am already lvl 38 (almost 39) when I finally felt tired and bored of using acolyte..(=.=") [What a waste of my time and energy]

P/S: I hope that the reply would not anger any other acolytes (O.o) I am only stating out my feelings. (^.^)

Well well, all characters do have their own good AND bad points~~ (In order to be FAIR for all~~)

It can be a bit tedious at times. I know several acolytes that will be going the Disciple branch when they reach lvl 45 which will increase their attack and overall soloing capabilities.

A lot of people enjoy that playstyle though. I know it's not for everyone. Just like tanking isn't really for me. I'm just not a close combat type of person. That's why I will never be able to make an archer. I'd like to but I'd suffer through 45lvls of neophyte. I plan on staying on the paladin path and hitting cleric (I think is the next one) when I reach lvl 66. I love the buffs and I'm a great healer. I just have that mindset.

But like I said. It's not for everyone. I know it seems like a lot of time wasted on your acolyte. But maybe you can go Disciple at lvl 45 and start doing better damage. Then it won't be time wasted.

At your current level, it's good if you good to places like kastled grove and train up yourself until level 25 or above before you move on to more tougher monsters' places cos you know acolytes can die very easily.

Or, you can stay in a party (comprising neophytes, apprentice, squires) and you can just heal them while they fight (you could level quite fast too ^^)

Just about 29 now...I really don't see how it's so hard to solo o.O
Just outside of Essene to the west is where I've been recently. When I really started trying I gained 2 levels in just an hour or two. Killing mass amounts of small monsters gets good exp, seriously ^^;

It's actually really easy to train an acolyte. I just go fight monsters which i can kill in 5-6 hits at saifield forest and routoer?or death valley? and i get around .46% per kill so it's pretty quick. The same place has worked for me since level 23. But I've gained about 8 levels today and get decent money I have 87k kron. Well, I'm not sure how the grinding goes as a higher level, but I'm going to be a disciple XD.

Hmm..As a lvl 38 acolyte, I found that one (an acolyte) must be in a party in order to lvl up quick, if not, it would take a long time to lvl up. Also, at lvl 35 or above, it would be best for an acolyte to venture out into a place with higher lvl monsters in a party to lvl up quick. All these are my opinions though..:)

Solo for an acolyte is possible BUT it just needs more time (this is what I personally think). Plus, I cannot play for too long thus I am always in a party to ensure easy and fast leveling. =P

Like this you will be getting most of the items, because as items go randomly, the percentage of getting the item get higher the more mana you use, and since aco's use more mana than squires, you'll get most of the items. you will get most of the exp because you are the highest level, plus the squires(or rogues if you have no squires) will still be happy at getting better exp, and getting to see new lands and new mobs, if you take them to a place where they normaly wouldent survive, and make sure they know they are safe in your hands as a capable acolyte.

i dont have an "official source" but i've tested it myself. and whenever i burn mana like it's silk, i alwayse come out with 10 to 15K more kron, than if i hold back and use it only when absolutely needed.

thinking about that it may be on pot usage, but i'm incluned to think it's mana usage more than pot usage.


plus the fact that when i play with neos and squires, i alwayse get more loot than with mages and acos.

My acolyte hit level 56 over a week ago and I stopped playing after that, because leveling is so slow now. I don't have much time to play this game anyway because of school.

Just wanted to tell you a little about the Oblivion skill. It doesn't use much mp per use( 16 or something if I remember right). Does a little more damage on the enemy than Illusion Quake when you first cast it(about 140-150 on red monsters). After that the enemy turns black and it starts taking damage over 17 seconds(you can barely notice this damage :I).And it has a 8 sec cooldown. That's it.:p

Yeah it helps killing monsters faster, but I was hoping it would be a little stronger.:rolleyes:It's lvl 56 skill after all.

And I haven't tried it on players yet( and won't be doing that soon either).So it might be a good skill in PvP though.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that what he likes the most is the fact that you must be as skilled as any other high lvl aco for supporting but at the same time have a low lvl, as it's not hard for an aco to easily support people who're around 20+ lvls higher than them as long as you’re skilled enough on controlling your char. Then again, I’m just saying.

Depends on the lvl obviously. Solo up to around 35 is not that horrible.

For lvl 30 to around 35, I would go a few maps east of essene (like 3 or 4 maps) and solo, a good map is one where you find eggs (sand eggs and another green one), carrorabis and a few other mobs maybe, I don’t remember well. Also, check how much exp you’re getting in relation to the amount of hits it takes to kill, some mobs are more worth it than others. If you think they’re too hard, one map back against rabbits and butterflies (don’t remember their names now) is also good enough exp. The other great thing about these maps is that the loot will be great, therefore allowing you to buy a pots so you can rest only every once in a while and still get a good enough income to buy usefull equips (getting a +1 staff with at least +2 ap can help quite a lot… the rest of the equips should also be +1, although only the shoes are mandatory)

White and higher mobs will give only a few more points of exp in relation to weaker ones, but at the same time are much harder to kill (and it's also easier to be the one that ends death). So in the long run, killing weaker things faster gives much better exp and maybe even loot (as you're killing more things in a certain time). Of course, if mobs are too weak you also won’t really get enough exp, usually mobs that just became somewhat weaker than you is the best way to go solo and that’s why comparing the exp you’re getting in relation to the number of hits it takes to kill a mob (writing it down for easier comparison is better btw, though remember that it depends on your lvl and current build too) is the best way to find a good place (also consider the overall of all mobs of a map, even if a certain mob gives a lot of exp, if there’s to few of them in the map, it’s not worth it). And also, most places will be useful for at least a few lvls, but sooner or later will start giving to little exp for it to be worth it. Also remember that the higher your lvl, the higher it is to get good exp (as monsters get quite stronger as you advance maps, but the exp they give is not that great in relation to weaker ones), which is why later on you will be damned to party, like it or not.

For leveling purposes, a party of people that work well together in an organized and efficient manner, so basically, the melee characters go first (while the rest follows) and stun whatever is next in the path of the party while at the same time the apprentices/scouts should be slowing the mob down, then everyone starts attacking till the thing (or things if the party is big, still you shouldn’t kill more than two mobs at a time) is death, while the aco/acos heal as necessary and keep everyone with the required buffs at all times, all this quickly and without resting (except for small pauses when someone needs to restock on pots). If the party has more than one aco (should have two for a party of 8, just one aco shouldn’t be with a party bigger than 5) they should organize well as to who will buff who (usually, one aco blesses while the other one uses fist up) and maybe even divide who heals who, although in the middle of a combat it can be hard to keep up with that and as long as they actually heal everyone, it won’t matter that much.

Also, in case of agros is where the true skill of the party will come to play. First, the person attacked shouldn’t just start running far away as that would only make it harder to control, instead, should run in circles around the party while the rangeds quickly react to slow the agro/agros while one of the melees will go to tank it if possible, and the killing goes on as normal, in these situations the aco/acos should divide the heals for whoever are the most damaged individuals (leaving themselves as the last) but always keeping the one/ones in the line of fire (the one/ones that are receiving the damage) at the top of the list. Also, if the mobs are affected by spirit, leaving one completely paralyzed with it is also a smart thing, and the party should know to react accordingly (so they would just leave that mob alone, so the effect doesn’t break).

In the theory it doesn’t sound that bad or hard and it’s even the most logical way of doing things, but there’s quite a lot of people out there that doesn’t have a clue, even some high lvl ones -.-u

to reduce your lag if you have a slow computer you should hit alt+d and turn off the sound/ effects and such. it'll help a lot.

Get's faster...haaah...that's great XD
You get the Fist Up spell at lvl 26 which increases magical and physical damage for three minutes. You should also have Bless as well. Those are the only buffs you get for a while lol
Solo untill you get Fist Up, then find yourself a few parties and it starts to go a lot faster. You want GOOD parties though! And don't be afraid to spam mana pots!
If you get a good group of friends who party well, the time just flies and the exp just rolls in ^^

You get the Fist Up spell at lvl 26 which increases magical and physical damage for three minutes. You should also have Bless as well. Those are the only buffs you get for a while lol
Solo untill you get Fist Up, then find yourself a few parties and it starts to go a lot faster. You want GOOD parties though! And don't be afraid to spam mana pots!
If you get a good group of friends who party well, the time just flies and the exp just rolls in ^^

i partied from level 18-22, and it is fine. we go to the mame eggs and giant poyos. it is really good exp for me, and i get a lot of drops. Would it be better if i solo? i feel that i ave money partying because i dont use as much mana

Just turned level 27. Only been playing 2 days, am levelling really fast, have found several good parties (all of which have been added to ingame friend list as we all get together when we are online) that have really helped.

Gaining exp fast when solo'ing as well, dont bother resting, jsut carry loads of pots, kill things that are weaker then myself (able to kill faster therefore gain exp faster), and the drops are not bad so can get some more Kron from selling the junk.

It took about 45 mins of constant grinding to go from 26-27.

oh yea, i dont know why acos dont know this but, higher map DOES NOT mean more exp.
you get more exp at death, routure(sp?) and the giant poyo vallyes than at mystra.


if your looking for a party, i suggest death vally or mystra hill. as previosly stated, even if im at lvl 46, i go to mystra hill or luan basin for a party. right now, you can always see me there ;P

Yes the wand you got when you became an Aco. Or any Aco weapon you have to equip it, like your armor.

Easiest way to make it work is use the "F12" key, brings up a short-cut bar.

Take your spells and put them on the bar 1-10, also but your potions on one.
Now just press the "F" key that coresponds to the short cut. I.E. 1 "F1"-10 "F10" :cool:

Well, I had a leveling slow down in the mid 40's, and a shorter mid 50's, but the late 50's and early 60's went quick. Of course I was aoeing with a rogue trying to be the 10th assassin on the icemaps so the experience was great. He was successful incidentally, go RL_Man.
