I couldn't get a single kill, much less do respectable damage in the PvP arena. It was still fun though. I guess we will have to wait until guildwars come out. Thats when we Acolytes will be the most useful I believe.

Yeah, I tried the SS once. I spent most of the time running from some squire trying to kill me. It's just not something an Acolyte can expect to go in solo and expect to survive.

acolyte could do ok in SS if they are with a good party.
personally i think acolytes are one of the most important members of a party, giving bluffs and heals to the party. but the party needs to be very organized to protect their acolyte, against mobs it's easy to draw aggro to the tank, but in PvP the enemy party will target the weakest first, so target your party acolyte. therefore a good team would work hard at defending their acolyte, and so keep their strength from having heals and bluffs throughout the SS.

I don't pvp with my acolyte, but then I'm not a pvp kind of guy in general. As for getting kills I don't have a problem. I just go a little slower than everyone else. I hear we are the most powerful profession in the end though. Hope it's true, but even if it's not I love my aco.

Aco's arent really MEANT for pvp if you think about it, unless you were like a holy avenger

wait till they get to the higher job changes, you never know, they might rule PvP, having powerful bluffs, doing some dammage and being able to heal themselves rapidly.
byt yeah, they are really good for parties, i think probably the only essential component of a party is a good acolyte. i can party without a magician, or a squire etc. but without a acolyte you either need to use a huge amount of inneficient pots, or spend lots of time resting, so gaining less exp/min.
i always like having a good acolyte in a party, and i've seen some mirical workers in the game, healing the entire party under heavy fire, while dealing with aggro on themselves. i played a cleric in fiesta, i know keeping the party alive is very important, so often direct my feals to the tank while using pots to keep myself alive. when partying i also keep a close eye on the acolyte and squishies, often leaving my own battle to go off and blindsight the mob that is harassing the parties acolyte. i'd prefer to draw the attention of the mobs to me, leaving the acolyte free from pressure so they can do their job more effectively.
