Loam valley is a nice spot, but i wouldent advice a level 16 to go there. you need to change spot as you advance, at level 16 you'll need something eaiser, then progress. anywhere with white names is good.

Fight the weakest mobs on a map and ignore the strong ones at first.

And fight mobs near the exit of the field (the red area on the minimap) so if the mobs get agressive or it is a situation you can't handle, you can easily exit the area or go to the red area. The enemies won't attack you in the red area.

actually the safe zones are a little buggy, sometimes monsters follow you into them, its actually harder to fight them there cause you can't use skills

If you hit a monster on later maps(Think Mystra and harder) you should exit the map, since they want your head otherwise in the red zone.

It's not buggy. It's just that if you hit a monster, especially if it's lower in hp, I notice that it'll chase you in a 'Life or Death' run, even into the 'safe' zones.

i have found that as u progress ot is better to fight more weaker mobs for example im lvl 29 right now and fighting in lvl 1 of kastled grove i gained 60% of a lvl in 2hr which is realy good by using threaten every other attack and resting when i run out of mp. this way i can kill 20 mons for about .33% exp b4 i run out of mp and if while im resting i get attacked im still strong enough to take out the mob. thats just my opinion tho
