picking plants

ok, i'm a newbie as you can tell. How do you pick the plants that are around. When I click on them I see the little bar going back and forth and have no idea what to do at that point other than wait for it to die and drop stuff. I assume that the little line on the bar means something. Please educate me on this :)

hmm, i hve no idea bout dat part, but wen i picking plants,or mushrooms, i only wait for dem to drop, dey shud drops about in like no more dan 7 secs :D

Ok theres a bar with green stuff running through it and a vertical gold yellow line. IF you click on the gold bar right when the green gets to it it drops instantly. So TA-DA!

i shall elaborate more.. when you click on the gold(i think it's more yellow to me) bar just when the green bar reaches the it, it will shine a little and the resource(herbs/flowers/mushrooms/woods/starfish/clams/ores/TREASURE CHESTS!!) will drop instantly.. this is called a successful harvest.. if you manage to get 100 successful harvests(not consecutively) on the same type of resource you'll get a title.. so good luck trying!! ^_^

oh if you can't get it you'll just have to wait the whole 7.0 seconds for the drop, but you're vulnerable to attacks in the meantime so be careful

oh another note, since i did mention the treasure chest.. occasionally you might find a treasure chest on the field, i think it's random since i only found one so far.. you open it the same way you harvest any other resource and it can contain ANYTHING.. most people get their pets this way.. good luck finding one ^_^
