When does Santa Axe event end?

When does the Santa Axe Clone Event End? And when does Santa Axe stop spawning? After the event will the real Santa NPC still be there so that other players have a chance to turn in there bells if they havent yet? I think he should be left there for like a while after the event so people with bells won't miss him if they still got theres to turn in.
