There are 6 ways I can think of, besides cash shop premium power-ups, to increase your hit damage. 3 of them happen at level up:
1. When you level up, your "static power" gets boosted automatically (read the game message bar right after you level up) and this increases your basic statistics. Which ones and how much of each depends on your character's class.
2. Also at level-up you get a "skill" point to place on your skills as you see fit. You can choose to place it in damage raising or in non-damage-raising places. For example, a Cleric has more Non-damage skills than anyone else and can use his "skill point" on heal, cure, buff, or, if he wants to raise damage, places it on bash.
3. Thirdly at level-up, you get a "Kill Point" to place on your free stat section of your stat categories as you choose. Place it on either STR (for damage increase) or DEX (for aim increase) (disclaimer: If you're a mage, DON'T PUT IT ON STR. you want to put it on DEX(aim), or INT for magic damage. If you're everybody else, DON'T PUT IT ON INT) There is also an inderect way to raise your damage with the stat assignment, and it is SPR. Every 5 stat points you place here raises your crit rate by 1% in addition to raising your magic defense and SP count, up to 25 stat points placed in SPR, for a crit rate of 5%. After that, you only get 1/2% per 5 stat points of SPR. It should be noted that crit rate is accumulated, "extra-hit" damage and not raised damage per hit.
4. Enhance the weapon at the smith to raise it's damage.
5. Jewelry. They all have some amount of additive stats, many of which adds to our damage increase.
6. Finally, find or buy Green or Blue labeled armor. They usually have 2 or 3 of the stat categories on them with some random number associated with it(Blue giving the most number of stat categories on the item). The rule of thumb here is that for lvl 20 and above weapons/gear, any one stat will not have a number value that is more than half of the level of the item. (STR+17,END+24, DEX +7, INT+14, SPR+25) for example of a level 50 Blue with all five stats present(SPR+25 being half the level of the item). Most gear won't have all 5 present. The 3 stats on weapons and armor that improve damage are STR(except for mages), DEX(aim), and INT(magic only for mages). Unfortunately, SPR on gear/weapons does NOT apply to crit rate- only to magic def. and SP quantity.
When choosing which armor to buy, consider the benefit of each stat to you the player and your character. You may choose an item with +END over one with raised damage or aim because you need more defensive protection. There are discussions on the forums about the pro's and con's of each stat so we wont' do that here.
If you want to try something mind-blowing, jot down all your character values: damage, aim, evasion, defense, magic def., HP, SP and so on. Then take all your gear off...jewelry, armor, and even weapon. You'll be amazed at how much those things really add up to what you are as a player. So, choose your gear thoughtfully.
These are the only ways I can think of to raise the damage capability of your existing weapon short of buying premium items and power-ups from the cash shop.
Best to all,

correction the "kill" point is a "free stat point" and "skill" points are actually granted like every 2nd or 3rd lvl i cant' remember but you start out with one, and you get another at lvl 3 and so on

After a certain level, it becomes one skill point every odd level.

What is the level of your weapon. For lower level items T1, the enhancement is not that obvious.
I have a level 15 I play around enhance +3 is only +4 on damage. Base damage is 31 - 43 and that +4 is like 10% on it. Given the variation from 31-43, you really did not see much difference.
However for a T3 weapon base damage is 235-325, +109 on +6 enhancement, it is like 33% difference and it is very obvious.
