We are always been pushed around as the "weaker class", many think Aco's can't level up unless your in a party, or "acolytes can't really solo". Why must this be the steriotype of all of us? How about we stop buffing people? how about we just say NO! to every "Buff me" or "I need help". lets see how people would react to that. i mean an acolyte can level himself up without anyone's help. or attack may be weak, but we can atleast attack red named monsters and if we go low in health, we can just sprit and minor heal. instead of squires other than getting all the loot, and an unfair balance of xp, since we can do it ourselfs. WHY? must we endure the ungrateful people who never say thanks to all buffs? I say, If any player would like any help, they must use please and thank you , or else we can always unbuff them :).
yea that's how we roll in gettho xen.
What do you think?

Burn for statements in any way/shape/form constructed in that way or with similar wording o.o
However, just train in the Essene area and you barely run into people ^^
You become INVALUABLE to parties of higher levels though, your worth shines truest then. They know they're completely screwed without you lol
The noobish people are the ones whom take advantage of Acolytes or attempt to do so. Tell them to show Acolytes more respect and maybe you'll give them a buff or something...
I haven't run into the problem though ^^;

Sigh every mmoprg with a healing class has these kind of threads one or two times a year...
I actually don't care what others thinks of the class, I usually don't heal or buff while I'm training, people doesn't ask me though so no complains in that area.
If pepople try to scam you in a party when you gain very little, let them die a few times, with 7% exp penalty, people is bound to learn very quickly.

Errr... Alright lol... Go on strike if you want to. But let's see you choose this class why? I choose it because I like to help people, so unless your going predictor/templar/disciple whatever the class name is I don't see why you shouldn't help people o.O. Everytime I buff or heal someone outside party I don't expect a TY soo it's all good to me it was my choice to help them (if they didn't ask, and usualy the ones that ask say TY)
And yes aco's can solo red named mobs, but try to solo them with 2 agros on you. It's not impossible but it's hard. I rather lvl in a party though faster exp in my opinion.

Some people choose the class because they like having supportive roles in a party or just because they like to party often and supporters tend to have higher chances of that.
It's a myth that the supporter is there to help everybody, they just are a different class with different gameplay, its silly to add responsibilities to people based in their classes (outside a party).
Personally I don't mind throwing a buff once in a while if I'm not leveling but thats all, if people bothers me, I just ignore them.

i actualy became an acolyte because it gives me the power to hunt from afar and the power to heal MYSELF. i didnt become an acolyte just so that i could be helpfull, i just thought it would be usefull to have a spell sitting there ready to heal myself, and also have the great power of offencive spells at my arsenal as well..
i can deal with not having as powerfull spells, because the small sacrifice gives me a whole other set of spells to go with it, and i love it.
that being said, i will not go be a mage, just because i dont want to run around buffing and healing like my life depends on it.

Very very true Horforia.
And from another point of view, there’re people (me included) that went the aco path just because we wanted to become Predictors/Disciples from the very beginning and not just because we got bored from the class and decided to change once we got to 45, like many other people.
Personally, while I didn’t dislike the aco path and even thought of staying on it instead of changing as I had always intended, the truth is the support part of the aco life sucks quite a bit if you have to deal with lots of, either newbies that don’t know how to actually work well on a party, or pros for whom you’re nothing more than a tool to achieve their desires.

At lower levels yes, but its common knowledge we do much less damage, some people just question if our supportive abilities make up for it (and anyone around 40 and above would say 100% yes)

just like if your driving and let someone into traffic out of the kindness of your heart. If they don't wave and show some respect for you slowing down and letting them in you should have the right to rear end them.

I've only read the first page, but, unless it's just me, since I haven't been on for awhile, but, I've never had anyone say anything negative about me being an aco.. There's an offensive class you can take later on anyway. I usually got praised for healing others and stuff.
And, a soloing aco is just a waste of time and money. :s Join a party, suck it up, heal everyone, and level. Then when you become a templar/paladin, you can own everyone like I will. :-D

I read the post and yeah there are some people out there, but they are rather... the snobbyish kind who think they're all that and yada yada yada...
but as for me, everytime I solo, I always get people who want to party with me (because they need a healer) and they are ALWAYS protecting me so I know how special I am :D. And if they don't protect me then well, I leave the group, that's all there is to it (but that's never happened before).
I never solo since everytime I try to, people end up needing me so I just party (lvl faster, I started about a week ago and I'm at lvl 37 already) and I've been partying with high lvl people (not to brag or anything but I mean, some pretty high lvl players) so trust me, us acolyte are a valuable asset to them. It's up to us whether they live or die (and lose that 7%).

But neos don’t really lurk in shadows, they just use some drug that makes them invisible :p

I agree with Kagura from the first page! When partying in places like Rudwork, Proteron, or Scorging, if you don't have an aco, you're screwed unless you're an archer or apprentice xD!
