What does everyone use to make these awesome sigs?

Hey everyone i just wanted to ask what everbody is using to make sigs cause i would like to get in the art of sig making myself and if im going to do that i would like to make sure i use a good program if anyone would respond id appeciate it thx.:D

but personally i use GIMP, its a free open source photo manipulation program, it's not AS feature-rific as something you'd have to pay for like photoshop but nonetheless its still chock full of nifty features and its compatible with most OS's like linux or vista :3 yay tux ><

Hey nvm i googled it and i just got finished installing it on my cpu i hope i can learn how to use it well enough to were i can make ppl there own sigs everyone be on the lookout if im able to get good at this ill set up a sig shop for everyone:D

For my siggi Adobe ImageReady is used.

For these simpler things, who are not to hard to make, i used a combination between Paint and Easy GIF Animator.(The Asheer one taked me like not even 5 minutes and its made with Easy GIF Animator.)

mmm I'm just use Corel Draw, I'm terrified of use layers in place of vectors, well, my sigature is really simple, but, what you can do in 4 minutes? xDD

I reccomend photoshop cs2, GIMP is harder to use, and I've seen wonderfully made things made from using cs2.

Also off topic if you do make signatures don't make them the size of a wallpaper it's usally unappealing and takes up too much space.

someone in my class wants GIMP, but he can't find it -_- do you know where to get it?... since you said it's open source I say it's very strange he can't find it...

I use Gimp. I feel I finally can do most of anything on Gimp. It is my chosen program for anything I create now. If only I had a tablet everything would be perfect, but than again I can't really draw D:

i downloaded GIMP 3 days ago, and workt on it alot whit turtorials on youtube, but still i dont know where to start. And where can you get the packages for GIMP, (for backgrounds for sigi's,..)

Hmm? I use windows so I wouldn't know for a Mac, but I always had the notion that anything added to Gimp had to be gotten from the internet, made by the user, or as for font found from word. ^^

this is completely unrelated. i just want to say i hate macantosh. there system is compatable with very few things. and there hardware breaks down easily. i won't even buy an ipod. please note that i have nothing agenst you personally bockor. i just hate mac.

there should be a few gimp support sites chillin around on the web ...just gotta google em...also if you're on there, deviantart has some great stuff for photoshop, paintshop pro, gimp and the likes...stuff like interesting tutorials, some nice/spiffy brushes...

and as for starting out...i just clicked everything i could and played around with it till i found out what did what >< but that's just me (lol i'm still not THAT great at gimp either :3 )

omg i seriously wish everyone would listen to this...it also makes it hell for those not on an awesome internet connection to have a hard time loading the pages....(the forums should have a size limit to our sigs...and not limit the number of images in your sig)
