The shield needs to get nerfed. Period.
And INT or SPR should affect healing rates, wayyy too many battle clerics.

Like i've said before, clerics shouldn't have their shield nerfed until all of the other classes have all of their skills. Certain bosses, such as goblin king, would be too tough without the clerics shield at its current status.

That's why you balance it with better healing skills with INT or SPR. Clerics are basically unbeatable in pvp with the shield at it's current status, so it needs to be weakened at least vs players.

I think the amout of DMG absourbed should be based on the target*character level.
When an lvl10 character gets an absorb, he shouldn't get +1,5k life. O.o
1,5k is fine for around lvl45-50s i believe.

I agree on the leve/HP distribution, but at about Lvl 30, mobs start to do about 100-200 DMG per hit. 1k is good for Lvl 30 IMO.

or make other classes stronger.
when clerics can outtank fighters, thats when you know there's a problem.

Clerics are basically the super fighter with healing...
They hit more, heal, tank better....
What the hell is the point of playing a fighter if a cleric is basically better?

Clerics don't: lower defense, stun, lower attack rate, have more than 1 attack skill.

Only because they have heal. Could you imagine a cleric without heal?
Remember; if you're nerfing clerics,you're also nerfing the people who keep you alive during boss fights and overmob aggro. Keep that in mind.

Yeah if you've ever fought a cleric in pvp... you'd understand. A cleric can take on someone 10 and probably more level higher than them, and if they're equal leveled you need like 4+ GOOD players to take down a cleric.

ya.. its quite true a cleric can fight someone who is 10 or more lvls higher than the cleric because of the invincibility shield.. ive done that... but they cant do much dmg on the person anyway... or barely... so the battle lasts FOREVER

Clerics aren't better tanks than fighters btw, they can't keep aggro like fighters can ^^

Yeah but I can see it now... high end Kingdom Quest in need of healer... battle clerics to the rescue! They got hammers! They deal damage! They heal themselves! And you better bet they're the last one standing as the cries of their comrades in search of heals go in vain.

I actually believe clerics should be replaced by thieves or rogues, because to me, clerics are just a rank of mage.
(yes, I DO play maplestory)

Well, we need a healer class lol.
But yes I would love a rogue... something that can invis and deal blast damage but not something that's really good for a long melee fight. Strats would be developed of course.

Ok. Archers are like warriors, well ok that's taking it too far.
Thieves and rogues are like warriors.
Why I went overboard on the Cleric and mages thing? (See, one is capitalized one is not! xD)
But simple, some games do put them under one hood, true. But they are far different. One is just simply for the support of their group and the other is a damage dealer. The way they work etc are completely different. And then to say they should be replaced by rogues or thieves seems even more ridiculous, since they are fighters and not much more. The only difference is how they fight.
Still, they can barely replace em since the original game is from Korea. They could perhaps later add a class though, but why replace? x_x
Like Utakata said, healer/buffing classes are in 99.99% of all RPGs. Why you may ask, simple - they work. Thieves and rogues for that matter in like 80%, at best. Not saying they can't be fun though.

It is true that cleric weapons have more damage than fighter weapons, but when it comes to damage output, a fighter does a lot more damage because their STR is superior compared to a cleric's, and they have more/better attack skills.

Cleric's damage is the lowest from all of the classes i believe, so it's ok if they can't be killed - i can just ignore their attacks lol.

But when a cleric casts invincible on someone 15 lvls*lower than me, and then i have no chance to damage him,*that's ridiculous - especially when the cleric is not even in a guild. Neutral clerics interfering with GWs, those idiots should just*get a*72 hour ban, or even more. Rofl.

Yeah so they should start with a smaller shield and work up... not that hard of a problem.

Lol why should anyone care about pvp anyways... its lame no rewards...* just a waist of pots and stones if you ask me... and as far as the shield goes.. its crippled by low duration.. if they lessen it it should last longer or have a better cooldown.. but if you weenie fighters are so tired of wasting yer lives dying in pvp us clerics can remember this and wont use invinc. when you got like 3 mobs tearin ya up....

All right, I know Im jumping in on this topic, and I'm not completly sure about all of what was said, but I do agree that clerics need to be altered.
I didn't get really far into the game (lvl5), but even so, I noticed that the clerics did seem to be slightly better then than what was good for them.* they really could do decent damage, and I expected a little less.* I also noticed that the armor helped a little more than expected too.* that's part of the reason why those clerics have good healing, in exchange for the lower armor and damage abilities.* everyone loves a great healer in their party, but I do admit that no one would want to fight pvp with one.
and did I hear an invincibility spell?* that sounds downright cheap.* and this is from someone who likes support as cleric (and such).
