I'm a level 27 Neophyte. My stats are 17 POW, 15 AGI and 4 STA. I found casting Blindside to paralyze a monster then spam Threaten on it to be an effective method.....thus i don't really need AGI for my tactic, just lots of POW
Tell me....am i doing a horrible mistake in investing POW all the time and not AGI?
I solo all the time, i don't go with parties. I need to know if investing into POW will be a big mistake later on at high lvls since i will be Solo'ing.
And it doesn't matter what my level will be, i will always solo. I can never find a decent party to lvl with so i will always solo.
Maybe that info will help you guys decide how i should raise my stats? it would be very helpful. I really don't wanna screw up my Neo.

I think you did put too much pow O.O...I only have 10 POW so I can equip later shields....invest some more stats in AGI because it is needed to increase your attack rate and dodge rate...just leave your POW at 17 (how much weight limit do you have by the way?)....

Ok thank you for the advise. I suppose it makes sense that doing lots of damage would be useless if you can't dodge once in a while :)
My Weight limit is 1580 lol To be honest it's not enough. I kill monsters like crazy and they drop so many items. I heard AGI will also give you a damage increase if you're a Neo, is that true? If it is then i don't mind investing into AGI instead of POW :D

hmm yea I have around 1400 weight and I usually have to sell stuff when I level up once XP...
from what I've heard, every time you increase AGI by 2, it increases your POW a bit....

Nice. I didn't know that. I think it's 3 agi though coz one time i added 2 agi at once and my POW didn't go up.

12-24-2007, 05:14 PM
oh it doesn't actually show in your stats...it's more of something you see in the damage you do...

Your POW won't go up if you put points in AGI... I'm assuming you meant Attack? Yeah, about every 2 points of AGI, gives you 1 ATK, or so.
I'm level 28, and have put all my points in AGI so far, (besides what they require for class change). I'm doing good damage and dodging a lot. I don't need to use HP pots really at all.
It's working out for me so far, and I'm going to go straight AGI to test it out. I know you need POW for the shields, but, I don't see the point in putting points into POW just for 1 more defense for each shield.. but that's just me.

yea the only reason I put a bit of extra POW is because I need to increase my weight limit since I solo most of the time

The drops seem to significantly drop at 4x+, though, so the extra shielding does kind of help. I only get a few drops every hour. x_x

im lvl 39 neo with 12pow, 25agi, 7men and 5sta and i solo great!!
the extra point in sta surprisingly increased my hp more than even the average noob scout o.O. cuz of my men i crit and skill crit alot more than average.
my pow and men work hand in hand so although i only do 50 (normal attack) on the monsters i need to train on, when i critical hit a monster with normal attack the damage doubles sometimes but most of the time it triples or even quadruples
in damage o.o". but my problem is my attack rate is way to low for my style of fighting. ppl say my build is good cuz my damage rivals ppl of higher lvls and even some scouts but other neophytes will do more damage in the long run because they attack faster but then again in pvp i kill ppl fast because of my men and pow and it takes long for others to kill me because of my defense. soloing i will get less exp per minute than other neophytes because they can kill faster. my build= good or bad? :confused: and wat job do u think i just change to judging from my current build

A basic Neo build would be 1 point per level into Agi. A point into Pow for shields as needed, but every 5th level split the points between Pow/Sta keeping the stats even. This allows you to deal more damage PER HIT, and to level on higher maps solo. Which is ideal for farming drops. The fastest way to level is on a low level map than the characters level. If you spam skills then you can get away with pure Agi, but you won't be all you can be. A Neo deals less damage per hit than squires. They make up for it with speed and criticals.
My method is as follows:
Pow: 1 point on the level of a new shield
Agi: 1 point per level, except as noted.
Men: All left-over points from every 5th level.
Sta: *1-2 points from every 5th level.
Wis: *Either no points or not until higher levels.
Sta plays a role if you go into high level maps solo/party or dungeon crawl in parties. It helps mostly for drop farming. I have yet to see a need for Wis, maybe at higher levels it will be required.
My method is of moderation and effiency. The build is Agi/Men primarly. I standard att/skill because it's more effective for a Neo than any other class. It will give fast attacks at high levels for attacks and skills. Plus, Men works well with Agi. It also gives a secondary boost to the dodge stat. A neo doesn't need HP like a squire does, so the points aren't needed as much.

Men, why is it worth getting?

Men, why is it worth getting?
its worth putting some points into men to raise ur chance of a critical hit and to speed up the casting rate of a skill
men isnt as important for a neophyte/rogue as agi but it helps alot

Neo's make use of Men the best. There are Neo skills that Men does bolster. Sadly, threaten doesn't deal double standard damage like Slash! for squires; but it does enough to warrant its use. By alternating att/threaten you make the most out of a Neo's attacks. Since Men increases both critical types and casting speed, it makes for a great secondary stat. Neo's need to increase Sta like they do Pow, only as required.

Okay so we should keep pow at the ammout we need for a new shield (1 point every 5 lvls I assume), keep sta the same as pow, add all points to agi except the pow and sta ones, how many points should we add to men? do you think at the same rate we increase pow and sta?

huh I'm confused... I'm gonna be a archer and I think I have too much agi... I have 9 pow 21 agi 8 men and 8 sta... I think I screwed it up.. can I reset it somewhere?...:(

I read once that adding sta actually decreased a Neo's atk speed (or was it hit rate?). Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Also, about how much hp does each point of sta give a neo?
Thx

actually sta reduces attack rate a little and adding sta is not necessary
as a neo about 12-20 pow (until rogue) would do pow only lvls wen ur getting new shield and men put ALL stat points available from stat points given from lvling to lvl divisible by 5 and add agi every lvl
so
agi= every lvl not divisible by 5
men= every lvl divisible by 5
pow= every lvl u get new shields
and u reset stats wen u change ur class

You all underestimate how much pow can help a neo.
My build for my rogue is
Pow= every 5th level, put 1-2 points (25,30, etc.)
Agi=every level inbetween (21, 22, etc.)
Men=same as pow
Sta=none right now, but considering it
My damage is great, and it goes well with my speed.
As for criticals, I only have 3 right now and most of the time I get 2 criticals in a row per monster. Sometimes I get more, and the extra damage really does help.
Skill spamming is for mages and acolytes, you should do your attacks in rapid succession for max possible speed. (meaning normal attack/threaten)
I admit I dont dodge as much as other neo's, but there's no REAL need for it when all you do is train at lower level maps. Even tho the xp is a bit small, its a lot easier, I dont have to worry about dying, and I kill each one in at least 5 seconds. On average they only get to hit me 2 maybe 3 times before they die. And pvp wise, I held my own against a level 43 neo while I was 23 bc of my pow (and spamming of pots =P)

So... how much men is required exactly? I'm level 29 and I have 5 points invested in it, but I'm not sure if I should keep adding on or leave it as is ):

Only 10 HP, thus why i don't bother with it.

well i dont kno for sure but at lvl 50 u should hav at least 12 points in men
12-15 in pow and the rest in agi
i pumped men after my agi got to 25 so i pretty much sacrificed speed and dodge for crit now at lvl 41 my stats are: 33+2 agi, 5sta, 12pow and 7 men
i stopped pumping my men for a little so i can speed up my attack rate and dodge because my crit was already pretty good i got at least 3crits on each monster i hav to train on

does anyone have any daya on how many men points you need for a increase in crit? and what the jump points are?
accuracy is where the crits come from, i keep it on all the time.

I have advice and feedback. Why do gear that is worn affect the weight? Higher level gear weighs a lot (they do increase in weight). So is pow required for all classes (excluding pow builds) that wear high level armor? Or can it be changed.
Well for one thing it's kinda obvious that wearing armor and having it in your inventory won't make a difference in your weight. About POW, Mages need POW to equip their staffs, and i think acolytes need POW to equip shields right? So i guess POW is something that every class needs.

Ok, this is what I think you should do. Since you've already invested points into men, you might as well keep at it. But my advice is that you keep adding agi until ur about lvl 50 or so, THEN start pumping into men (that was what i did).
Im a lvl 6x neo and i currently have 16men, and it works wonders.
Also on a side note, you wont really notice the skill spam speed increase until about 12 men (and yes, it is alot faster than with 1men).

lol pow helps a lot! my stats.
pow=25
agi=22
sta=10 05 15 i think.
everything else=1
all additional point gears
so... what i can tell you is build up an even pow and agi neo. your going to chane job classes later anyhow. dont qoute me on this but i think if you become an rouge you might get a chanced to reset skills points. i know for scouts you reset skill points.

me too, i hit very fast inflicting a lot of damage, and have dodge in high 30s so they miss a lot.
I'm guessing they have something like chance of hit:85 (vary depending on mob lvl) so if i have 38 dodge then the chance of hit becomes 85-38=47%.
low level movs can barely touch you. i wonder if it is possible for some more advanced mobs can have chance of hit over 100, eg a mob has chance of hit=110, you have 38 dodge, so then they have 110-38=72% chance of hitting you.

yeah...pure agi is good...it has its flaws but its good...
but does pure agi do good in pvp?
