Well, I was under the assumption (bad thing to do, I know) that power just increased your strength -- as in, yes, you could carry more weight (and there-by more items), but you could also hit harder (more damage points), et cetera. That's why Newbies are advised to place all their stats in POW -- you hit harder, so you win more often, so you level up more faster, so you can hurry up and change your class to whatever.
In any case, I think you're saved from, uh, being doomed...

no, power adds attack power as well as weight
your fine if your a neo and added 11 power...
just dont add anymore unless you wanna take that route...
