getting a pet.

i realy want a pet, and i would apriciate any information anyone has on the best way to go about getting one.

also i would like to know about where to get an egg for the pet guy to hatch for me, i've never heard of anyone even seeing an egg.

as for the watermellons, what monsters would be best to kill to get them? is it better to save up cash and buy them rather than hunt and collect? and any other info.


as for the pet itself, i was wondering what different creatures could be had as pets? do the pets need feeding? Are the pets are trainable, and can they fight? do the pets run fast enough to keep up with me while i'm running around, or should i put it in my pack to travel? does the pet go with you when you teleport?



other than this, any other info would be nice.

dunno what monsters drop the watermelons you need (I believe you need 5 of them?)

umm he doesn't actually need an egg...you just need to give him the watermelons and juice and he'll give you a pet (if you want to change what pet you got though, you'd have to give him watermelons and juice again)...

I only had a pet for three days before CB ended, but from what I've seen the pet just follows you around (it shows up in your inventory too so you can summon it and put it back whenever you want to)....the only pets you can have so far I believe are poyo poyo, poku poku, and poko poko (basically the pink, orange, and blue pig looking monsters)....

and around lvl 60 I think, you can get a hat for your pet...

about the egg...

if you talk to him there is an option for him to hatch an egg for you, and an option to buy a pet. clicking on buy a pet makes him tell you about the mellons, and clicking the hatch pet option makes him tell me that i dont have an egg.

oh really? I just did the "buy pet" option back in CB...haven't really talked to the pet merchant yet...

yep. i didnt get to play in CB so i only know about stuff that has happend since OB. (other than what info i've gathered from players on the forums and IRC chat that have told me stuff.)

After you get your 5 yellow watermelons and juice, The Pet Merchant gives you an egg. You have the option to either hatch it right away or wait for it to hatch on it's own. ^^

As for other pet options, yes there are somes. But they are not available at this time. >_o More than likely, They'll be cash shop pets - because they actually do something besides follow you around. xD

Where to get y. watermelons? My friend Fireslinger has gotten most of his in and around Belteranin Forest. :)

well belteranin forest is in the west of essene after 7 maps i think you get there but the monster in that are are strong you gotta be at least lvl 41+ or go in a party... btw i hear that the monster that droped the yellow watermelons its a kebino and is the monster more agresive in the area good luck hunting :)

Yellow Watermelon can be found at Belteranin Forest, the monsters that drops it are Dale Snake & Kebino

Actually there are other maps with the same monsters

Eririn is correct... I currently have three YWM, and I found two in Shaio and one in Beltaranin (both accessible by taking Brinhyld south and going out towards Mystra Basin and past the North Mine Entrance in Cyoren Forest.) I have to say that Beltaranin does seem to be the hotspot for YWM. I found my two in Shaio only due to the fact that I leveled there A LOT for a while, and got 2 from the Dale Snakes... I got one later at Beltaranin, and witnessed two others drop for other players in Beltaranin also (score: Shaio 2, Beltaranin: 3) so i would say that the best bet is Beltaranin Forest....

the only thing which makes it hard for me right now is that I havent seen one in a week... and I havent been looking as of late (too busy leveling)... and I have seen two for sale, but the prices that were asked are ASTRONOMICAL (i saw one for 5 million kron and almost coughed up a fireball), whats sad is I saw the very same vendor the next day and no YWM, which makes me wonder if someone actually bought the thing...

I also heard a rumor that YWM can be found in the Mithril Mines as well (but I will STRONGLY advise any person viewing this not to go rushing into the Mithril Mines in search of YWM, as the Mines are for the most part a deathtrap unless you know what you are going). I don't frequent the Mines, so I cannot say whether this rumor is true or not, but it is something I heard.

Huh what lvl are the monsters up at shilo and Beltranian? ive been looking for a pet for a while but since i found out they do absolutly nothing i decided to farm YWM for other ppl to sell at low prices...some that poor ppl can afford (maybe 50k or seomthing XD)

i only know the way from essene... to get there go west after 5 map you are gonna be in broly basin(a map with no monsters only mutes)go forward to the next map. in the northeast corner is the mythril mine

I talked to one person who had a blue pet and he said it added to his movement speed. That didn't happen in CB, so they may have added stat attributes to pets.

xen stones don't drop from any one monster, they drop at random from ANY monster anywhere... a completely random, totally rare drop...

and I noticed that some people put on the poll that they got 9 or more YWM...

I wanna talk to those people, because of the rarity of YWM, I actually think either they didnt understand the poll, or they are just jokin...

in any case, if that's true, I, as well as others, wanna know where in the heck you find over 9 YWM...
