Armor/Weapon Equivalents -- Is it Worth it?

So once upon a time not too long ago, I was going to upgrade my armor to the Next Best Thing, only to find that my Good Enough +1 was even better than the Next Best Thing.

Shocker, huh?

ARMOR OF SPEED +1
Level: 16/+
Shield: +14 (+12 and +2, d'uh)
Weight: 45

ARMOR OF ACCELERATION
Level: 25/+
Shield: +14
Weight: 46

Well, okay, one weight point isn't really all that much to look at, but my miserly ways joined forces with my rather colorful gear, and thus I was convinced to wait for the Even Better (Which, apparently, I can now get. Hmmm....)

Anyhow, The Point is, A) Did you notice this before?, and B) Would you care to enlighten everyone else about whether or not it's worth it to upgrade? Actual stats would be nice to back up your opinion.

I'v noticed this before!! In CB infact. If your a neophyte, invest 6,000-10,000 kron in a pair of shoes of speed +1. They are better than Shoes of acceleration +1 (makes no sense...), and will last you up untill lvl 29, when you should buy a pair of Shoes of Ray +1

Shoes of Speed +1 give you +5, and +6 shield, +1 movement
Shoes of Acceleration +1 - I would love to tell, but I sold my pair...
Shoes of Ray +1 - +12 shield +1 movement

If that's really so, it's probably bugged, so if someone could take screenshots and post them on the bugs section it could help.

Otherwise, any +1 equip should be pretty much similar to it's next tier normal one, therefore, the next +1 should be better than the previous one. So just try to always have your whole equip updated and with +1 and you should be fine (though if things really are like he/she says, it can pay out to check the def they provide before actually updating your equips :p).

some equips have random additional defence/attack (I think they call it AP ingame). I managed to get a lvl 16 +1 shield with +3 AP, still using it at lvl 37 as it has same stats as a +1 shield of ray.

think one of the best things I have so far is a glove of acceleration +1 that has +6 and +9 defense :)

the items that have like +5 and +6 are pretty rare, you can also find the equivalent in the next step up, so it depends on which +1 item you have meaning that +1 shoes of speed aren't generally better than +1 shoes of acceleration, just those particular pair were
