Magic Clear is used to clear status ailments caused by magical means...
I can state one example that I can think of at the moment... the Angeloos who sling magic at you cause a blue ailment... it's a MAGICAL ailment... and can be cleared with Magic Clear...
I have found through experimentation that it cannot clear status ailments caused by physical attacks...
its not totally useless, but it is rarely used...
