Cant equip heaven hammer

It sounds like you have not done the job change quest. You can't equip any 20+ items or use the 20+ skills until you do.

That's probably it. Finish the shadow quest, then try again. To start it, talk to the paladin in Elderine, then talk to the guy in mist forest standing near the pond by the SAnd Beach gate.
