If they claim they are helping you, tell them you never want them to help you again, and if they keep doing it, make sure to get screens of the chat box where you asked them to stop, and a few more screens that shows them still fighting what you are fighting.

As for str99t, how does he look like a noob? To me, if I couldn't see his lvl, I would have guessed he was lvl 47+, and logically seeing as he is a cleric, he is perfectly capable of handling himself. Therefore if I was truly worried I would ask him if he needed help, and when he said no, go on about my business.

Obviously if ranmaru's story is true, then Terra was in the wrong. Seeing though that I can not divine the truth from this screenshot alone, I will hold judgement.

Killstealing sucks, period. And not to contradict anyone else here, but if you warn them once and it keeps happening, or if they follow you through the map to continue, then in my opinion it falls under harassment.

Personally, I think you did the right thing here and would hope you'd forward this off to the GMs for their advice as well.

I was killing monsters for a quest, when a character was roaming around killing anything that moved; including monsters that I was trying to kill. She wasn't targeting my enemies specifically, but also wouldn't back off when it was clear that I was trying to kill the monster and wasn't in any danger of being killed. It's really annoying when you are an archer or mage trying to kill something, and someone else runs up to it and takes it out, not realizing that you were already attacking it. They don't see someone standing next to it attacking, so they assume that nobody is. I understand that all beasts are fair game, but it's annoying that after you attack something, someone else runs up and kills it w/o realizing that you were already attacking it.

they actually just want to have an easier kill, since the monster is headed to u. and then they can grab some exp without getting any hit :S

Yeah, that happened to me with someone else, when I was hunting Procks in VT. (I still need to figure out who the admin and master members are in Men_Of_Uruga to let them know. Aiya.)

It sucks even more when you already tag the monster before getting the HP down, and then they chip away as well. I'm glad that I was able to get 180 of the 280XP at that time. Still, it's pretty frustrating.

That behavior really does match that of a bot. Even if they didn't understand English, which I don't understand given that this is the English North American release of the game, there should have been some sort of response.

Actually, this should not even be here. I've done this myself and was accused of harrassing another player. Do not post screenshots of someone who is "Kill Stealing" and openly view their name and information (in a bad view) in public. This is considered harrassing and is frowned upon. If you would like to take action upon a player, please report it to a Game Moderator and remove any information regarding this player from this thread.

If I have the aggro then it is my mob. You don't go snatching mobs from an aoe party while they're luring them do you? No. Because that's KS. They're the party's mobs regardless of whether they've hit them or not, because they have the aggro. Also in the picture I was hitting the mobs already, but Terra ran at me and started attacking them without a word until I said "KS" as seen in the image.

All you said was to stop KSing, thier is not evidence of KSing from what I can see. I should try that, go kill a monster in front of someone then scream "KS!" and take a screenshot. Thats just about what you did. So, deal with a little competition and get a life, its just a game.

Personally I tend to agree with both of you.

If I lure a mob to me as an archer, and someone else attacks it, I have to make a decision as to whether or not they intended to KS me or if it was a mistake. I have ranged attacks, as does a mage. It could be we targeted the mob at the same time but I got the first shot in, then he/she cast a shot. Yes, the mob is technically mine and I could say 'I've got it, thanks' or I could let it go. 9 times out of 10 I let it go and issue a 'sorry' even if I know it wasn't my fault.

If I have pulled a mob to me and am in melee and THEN someone attacks it, I get a little frustrated and will ask them not to KS.

If I am fighting one mob and another aggros me, even if I can fight it I always thank someone for attacking the 2md mob. That, in my mind, is not KS, it is friendly assistance. Now, I've played with people in Uruga that pull 3 orcs at once - that's fine. If someone were to try to help, my team mate would say 'I've got it, thanks'. It wouldn't become a KS issue until they ignored that and continued to attack.

As for repeat Kssers, it is annoying but all you can really do is capture a screenie and report them. I can with almost 100% certainty guarantee GMs review all reports, but take into consideration the sheer number of players vs the number of GMs and you can easily see there is no way every report can be addressed immediately.

So, you are both correct. It comes down to one thing: personal play style. You have to make a decision as to whether or not you are being Ksd or not and how you will respond. There simply is no single right or wrong way.

But remember to be civil to one another and polite, both in game and in these forums and please – I can’s stress this enough – refrain from turning a friendly conversation into a barrage of personal attacks. Keep it on topic and as impersonal as possible.

Thank you for your post, Serric. I can't find anything I'd disagree with considering the end of the message where you stated that in the end it's up to how the player takes it and I agree with that. If someone attacks my mobs (those I hold the aggro of) I take that as kill stealing as it is. They are my mobs, I can pull as many as I want and it's my business to take them down. If someone interferes, they're obviously ksing.

There is no welcome interference if I am not at the point of death, which hardly an Orc or two can get me to.

But even with saying that and taking his abusive insults I still did not go around killing any monster he had hit ever!!

That'd be nice if it'd work, but it wouldn't.

Players knowing this would just go planting hits on multiple mobs and run away letting other players to deal with them and still gain the exp. This would also be a great way of power leveling as the newbies would hit the mob once, then a higher level player would finish it off.

What sbr is trying to say is that he believes that you THINK Terra was ksing you, but your interpretation of the situation is wrong, you misunderstood terra's motives. And that ignoring thing, really mature there for a "grown adult"

As a cleric you can only attack one mob at a time, why complain when one is taken off of you that you weren't attacking. It SAVES you sp, since you only have to heal half as much you take the monster down faster. If you were AOE-ing and someone came over and mocked your entire train(which has happened to me before) thats one thing, but taking away a mob that you aren't attacking, trying to help you on an isolated occasion, is not something that you should bring to the forums. Its slander on Terra's name. Its not like that was the last orc in all of existence, another one would have spawned in a second.

Maybe instead of yelling KS, you could have politely asked Terra to stop, saying that you are fine with wasting sp on two mobs at once. Threats won't get you far.

Your definition of KSing seems flawed though. Its more like Agro-stealing. If someone came up to you IRL and yelled at you for breathing their air that they were going to breathe in a minute, what would you do? Laugh at them, right? You can't own air, and theres plenty of other air, why make such a big deal out if it? Same thing.
