View Full Version : Sand Hill Scrolls Scam?

Since it's common knowledge (or should be) that Sand Hill scrolls don't work right now, can't selling them be considered a scam? Maybe even a bannable one? I'm seeing more and more people in town trying to sell them for 1s-3s, which a pretty ridiculous price to begin with, and reeks of intent to rip off other players.
Is there any official word on this?
Thanks.

You can always stock up on them for when they are usable.

I couldn't ever get them to work either on any type of character that I had them on (Didn't work on my Archer, Fighter, Mage or my Cleric) so If I got them I just sold them to like Ruby or some skill master nearby. If they don't work what's the point in keeping them? o_o?

I think Sand Hill is somekind beta field(for example i cannot talk whit main NPC there) and put in game before was fully ended.
And can someone explain me what purpose have quiz field in Elderine?
Anyway Fiesta is still in long road to be call full end ;)(lags, graphic glitches servers instability...), but back to topic, yes right now selling Sand Hill scrolls when ther are useless for more as 1 s can be considered as scamm.
By the way overpriced return scrolls are plague in Fiesta(Roumen scrollls for 1-2s and sometimes more not to mention seling as Uruga scrolls) and need to be dealt by Outspark officials...
I repeat my apeal from other forum.
We need OFFICIAL PRICE REGULATIONS.
Free Market system has FAIL... and like someone say:

no it isn't a scam. so what if they dun work now? so what if they're selling for 1s-3s? it doesn't make selling sand hills scrolls a scam. maybe they're just getting rid of them to gain more inventory space. maybe they want to help others stock up on the scrolls for when it starts working. maybe they think 1s-3s is a gd price. its not like they were shouting "selling WORKING sand shill scrolls" or something. it doesn't involve false advertising of any kind, and therefore it isn't a scam.

No, it is not a scam.
GMs have said before, unless the people are claiming the item is something else or to deceive on the price (like placing items for 10s when the shop title says 1s), it is not a scam.
Example :
Movie tickets/any tickets are not usable now, only in future, but you can't call that scamming, can you. These scrolls are going to work, sooner or later.

i disagree with the price regulation thing that chick a few post's up said
reasons why:
the market is unstable, true but if there was a set price on everything you couldent find anything for cheep anymore (isent the regulated price in the npc shops? ofcourse everything isent in a shop then you wouldent have to hunt sell for what you will and when you fail to sell it sell it for cheeper)
people use there judgement (no matter how stupid it may be) to buy and sell for what they want
the best thing about any game is when the market is unstable its easy to make money - it will get stable soon on its own when people realise they cant be so money hungry and charge the absolute most for it (like everyone does except me)
i do think they should sell rumen return scrolls in rumen, eldrine scrolls in eldrine, sand hill scrolls in sand hill and uruga scrolls in uruga in the item shops - the only reason they are so expensive now is because they come rarely from monster drops

Well, the scrolls should be a bannable offense if sold. A lot of the times Staff/Dev teams will script, throw it out there, and forget that they made a mistake by not scripting it for the current scrolls, and that the update only affects new drops. Thus creating even more chaos, in which they could careless, but the problem still lies there. Lets hope this staff starts keeping their heads out of the poke hole, and more into the books.

no its not a bannable offense why?
what if someone who doesent know they dont work finds one and doesent need to go to sand hill (like anyone should really need to go there anyways) so he dont use it to find out they dont work and he sells it
if that is the case where is the try it before you sell it rule?

*taken from the Dec. 18th Patch notes*
"A New GM Event Quiz Arena
Event arena where a set number of players enter an event location in a far off land hosted by the Fiesta GMs.
User’s will be asked trivia questions and players will run to the correct answer located in the arena! User’s with the right answers stay, wrong answers leave until there is one person standing. Last adventurer standing wins a prize!"
It is always a good idea to read the patch notes. :)
