Alright, I'm new to this game. I have really no idea what to do. I'm pretty much lost after the create-character screen. I used the search function, but it's irritating and doesn't get the results I need.

So basically, I just need to know what to do, how to become a rogue, what stats to add, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Ah, yes, if the Search function doesn't help you, I recommend just taking your time and reading through the Rogue section. o.o [There are quite a number of threads that'll help answer you question.]

However, I'm in no rush, and will do my best to answer your question(s). :3

After the create-a-character screen, you should talk with all the NPCs [non-player characters] on your small map (I think you start out in a hotel-like reception room first). Learn the basics of which keys do what (either memorize all the alt+[button] keys or just write them down like I did ^.~).

One of the NPCs should ask if you're ready to leave the training area, and when you're ready, you should select yes. At that point, you'll end up near the center of Arcarinus Square. Talk to the Solstice Trainer (somewhere near you) and complete ALL ten of her quests. [Note: Make sure to add ALL of your stat points [alt+w] into POW while you're still a Xenian (should say you are at the top left on your screen, above your HP/MP/weight bars).

After or during the trainer quests, make sure to collect the 1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 Pendants (which you get from killing monsters - the 4/4 pendant is dropped most often by blue Poko Poko, if you're curious).

When you're level 16, talk with Reinmoth (also near the center of Arcarinus Square), and ask for a job change to Neophyte. She'll transport you to the Thief Guild Hall, where you can ask the Thief Guild Leader for a job as a thief. He'll offer you a chance to reset your stats, at which point, you should add them all to the categories as he suggested (I think it's 4 POW, 1x AGI, 3 STA, but write down what he says, if I'm mistaken). Every time you level, I recommend adding to only AGI, though you can read other threads about alternative ideas on where to place future stat points.

Anyways, I hope my long-winded explanation helps. :3

Ah thank you, that'll be tons of help.

Thanks again!

(If anyone else has any other info, please post. I was wondering if their were any skill builds. >_>)

Er, since I've already read the entire Rogue section, I found the following two threads to be the most helpful/inciteful on various Rogue builds:

http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33236

http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29709

They're long, but if you're really interested, best read through them all. :3

Alright, I understand now. Thanks again.

Just to be clear, which skills are first priority to get? I understand the stats now though. I must've missed something in one of those threads. >_>

Sorry to trouble you.

Threaten and Blindside will be your most important skills. I don't use Enhance all that much but i still have it hotkey'd. Accuracy is very helpful and lasts for 3 minutes which is decent. Rapid Step is helpful aswell. gives +1 to movement but lasts for 30 minutes. Then there's invisble but i don't use it much....i don't really find it important for now.

I can't say anything about the other skills as i haven't got them yet. Although im close at getting Poison Blow at lvl 41.

enhance is important, use it. Agi and Men make the most of a Neo's skills.

Is the decreased atk speed worth +10 dodge points? I find myself weaving faster without enhance, but I'm not sure if it's better to kill faster, or dodge more :\

Blindside and Threaten are the best, if you get the chance to get the lvl 2 for threaten wich should one of the first you can lvl up, i suggest you take it, but dont hurry to much it dosent make to much diferance, but yeah, i suggest you always start the fight with blindside and then youll know what to do depending on your fighting style.

love your sig foxyroxy, did you make it yourself?

Ahh, there was a thread discussing about threaten 2, and I heard it was unnecessary. But I'll get the skill anyways and see how it works :b Blindside is VERY good - I use it when I'm in a pinch, and it's a real life saver!

And yes, I did make the sig myself ^^; Thank you!

So what's the average level where Rapid Step actually starts to make a difference? D:

Sorry im a bit late to this thread but roxy, enhance makes you attack faster (the lower the number the better, the number is how many second(s) delay there is between attacks) and at lvl 40+ i found it almost impossible to lvl without enhance lvl 2, almost nothing hit me in the area i was training (2 maps north of essene) so i could just use mp pots and i hardly rested i just kept going, i only needed mp pots.

If you do go to the map i sugested make sure you rest if a frog poisons you, as it takes hp off you overtime.

yeah enhance is essential, i always make sure it's on, the attack time from 0.8 to 0.6 is 33% more damage per second. this with boosting the dodge makes it an essential bluff to always have on.

the thing i think is funny is enhance2 isn't better then enhance1.
enhance1: -0.2 attack time, 11 dodge.
enhance2: -0.2 attack time, 12 dodge.
1 more dodge is nothing! I’d expect a 2nd level spell to have greater effects, maybe -0.3 attack time, or an extra 10 dodge.

I thought i did see enhance giving -0.3 attack when i first got it, but now it definitely only gives -0.2 attack, which is exactly the same as enhance1.

maybe enhance gives -0.3 attack time when your base attack time is 1s etc, but not when you get faster as moving from 0.8 to 0.5 would make it just too powerful, so it only boosts you by 0.2, to give 0.6 attack time.

I think enhance lvl 2 give like -0.25 atk speed or something like that.
Because right now I have base atk spd of 1.0. When I use enhance 1 it goes to .8, but enhance 2 makes it .7.

I had the same at 1.0 enhance2 took me to 0.7 (-0.3s) then when I got to 0.9 enhance2 still only took me to 0.7(-0.2s) ever since then it has only given me -0.2s.

Decreased atk speed is good. New weapons give -0.1 atk speed and such.

The lowest the better.

0.5 sec atk speed means that you will attack twice per second. While 1 sec atk speed, means that you will atk only once per second.
