I'd love to have some kind of a puzzle-like minigame with a time limit instead of the roulette. Something based on your wits, like Sudoku or Mastermind board game, or even good old Tetris, with difficulty gradualy rising with the enhancement level (+1 ~ very easy +9 ~ extremely difficult). The red/blue stones would decrease difficulty of the puzzle, or add more time, or just cause an automatic success.

I personally like that idea. But, I am very good at all types of puzzles.

I could see the "Puzzle Challenged" not caring for it to much though. ( about 80% of people) :p

Good Idea though! :)

I love the idea! The roulette is just too much of a long shot.. And Tetris or something makes it fun to do too!:D

But it also makes it an aquirable skill, which makes it unfair for some, and extremely easy for others.
Not to mention it will increase success rate dramatically and further decrease worth of enhanced items.
Theyve become common enough after fiesta store.

Well not exactly, remember I mentioned an increasing difficulty with Fiesta stones decreasing it back. So level 1 would be very simple (almost granted success), level 2 simple, 3 somehow challenging, 4+ more and more difficult. But you would use a Fiesta stone and have a "very simple" difficulty again on, say, level 5.
And ofc I know that players skill would matter but why not? It would be more fun than watching the roulette stars and players would train their brains a bit during the game - at least during enhancement :)

And some genius able to solve a very complicated riddle or win a difficult minigame in a very short time indeed deserves the enhanced stuff. :)

(NOTE: I'd just love a rpg where player's iq and concentration matters at least in magic, healing, tradeskilling and enhancing).

Well thinking about it I believe that something like the Minesweeper game would be most suitable. The playfiled might be shaped so it resembles the item, and there would be "weak spots" instead of mines, and you have to discover and "neutralize" the weak spots, and if you don't the item might break (a mine explodes).

Or even use something already in the game...similar to the mining process
exact clicking on the bar at a given time in a given frame...insures enhancement...but make it 2 of 3 or something like that

and let's stop weapon destruction with that..loss of elrue, lix and the like is costly enough...with skills costing what they do, shouldn't the loss of enhancement charms be enough punishment?

just a thought

I vote for simply either eliminating weapon destruction, or lowering the bar. Say, you have a guarantee of no destruction till the weapon is +6 or higher. There is still a market and need for the Cash Shop stones, but people who don't want to (or can't) spend money in there don't get totally scrooged with unenhanced items, or frequent breaks. I am completely cursed in item enhancement. I broke 5 staves in a row before deciding that it wasn't worth it. Talk about wasting money...220c a staff x5....

i think it could be fun... but then too easy... so all plus 9 weapons and stuff would sell for really cheap :(

I don't mind breaking since I break my weapons all the time anyway, but degradation is too harsh.

Plus, enhanced weapons aren't that great anyway.

But, the enhancement should be based on luck to keep the price steady.

Lythari, try wasting over 100s on enhancing. THAT'S heavy losses.

I think it's fine the way it is.
Why?

Upgrading is supposed to be difficult.
How would you like to see every player with +9 equipment?
They are supposed to be rare.
Now that I think about it, they could add more stats to upgrgades and severely raise the ratio of success for higher level upgrades. :)

I would have to agree. Remember, though it'd be nice to not hurt people who don't buy Fiesta Store stuff, that is how they make money. Fiesta Store'rs ought to have some advantage over others, unless Outspark wants to go charity. The game is free, and anything can be obtained free.

However, I think something like this for Production would be better. The resource gathering bar is a cool idea, but what if it were more complicated, especially for higher-level stuff? It would add a minigame flavor, and only really affect the game slightly, as far as economy goes.

I still think the "gathering" thing would be a good idea. Make it complicated, which wouldn't insure upgrade, but please stop destruction.

As far as the store goes, alter the way red and blue eyes work. Instead of insuring no destruction...
ex:
red eye: chance of level increase by 2 improved OR guarantee 1 level improvement and raise the price of red eye.

blue eye: chance of def, stg, end *etc* added

Some people said that this would make leveled weapons cheaper on resale. So be it. If they are, they are. I think too many weapons are sold too high as it is. Which, in turn raises the prices of scolls, (another thread I read), potions and everything else in game.

My only thing is the destruction issue...before I learned the hard way... I tried to upgrade a level 20 weapon...destroyed it...and was way shy on silver for another...so..back to level 15 and a long time to replace... This hampered my game experience to a degree. Should we have tough times, yes. But not because an attempt to do a game function blows up our weapon.

Only other thought..if you are going to let weapon destruction continue...lower your NPC costs...then this is all mute points. I will blow them up all day long :)

Just my thoughts.

I didn't ask for easier enahncement. I wanted more fun, thats all. Just wanted the game designers to let me put some of my own skill or effort into the enhancement process. :) I agree that it should be difficult and I expect that enhancing to highter bonuses will be impossible without sparing real world money. That's OK with me, all I wanted was a minigame with increasing difficulty instead of the roulette.

Yeah...but see what you started? lol ::D

lol i've spent more than 200s on enhancing...

Yeah, I can see what I started :) But at least it somehow prove that enhancement is a weak spot in the game. I mean, you shall at least have some skill increase and a chance for a future improvement for your (costly) failures.
I was never into a pure luck based games, like roulette, and so on, and I believe that enhancement shall be more like a skill.

Also I miss a weapon and armor tradeskilling in the game.

IMO

if we have any kinds of puzzles or skills tht we could gain and increase our enhancement success is unaceptable...coz i agree with some of us..enhancements should be RARE...

and losing 100s-200s in enhancing ur weps is NORMAL...lets think when ur a higher level...at lvl 60s even ur skills cost are 100s++ so 100s - 200s losing in enhancing items is BASIC gaming experience...

Store items helps in enhancing so tht's good enough...no need of puzzles + skills for enhancing it'll just make the game TOO easy and in the end Fiesta wont be enjoyable anymore...

so plz..keep the enhancing styles as it is now..its good enough :) make it easier will make it unbalance...

thnks~

Yea, I totally agreed with you Space about "Plus, enhanced weapons aren't that great anyway." but when it comes to enhanced armor, they are the best!!

Well good thing about puzzles that require any intelligence at all is that it
would reduce the ammount of idiots that are "0mg 1 4m t3h l33t" with enhanced weapons :D

Do you all ever played "Mystery Case Files Huntsville" game? They give you a list like 20 item and then you must find it in the picture within the time limit. It's a fun game though. Maybe the puzzles doesn't require any intelligence but if they can do like the game I mention above, it will be fun and annoying at the same time. Hoho.

Yeah, why don't they make a game within the game itself? I mean like "Mini Game". Just a thought from my fantasy world though.
