View Full Version : A little unfair isn't it?

The event schedule hasn't been updated since the 27th, yet the GM still has events daily from what I can tell. That means players can't log onto to the forums to see what events are happening at what time, making them unable to plan to take a little free time from whatever else they could be doing to play these events. I don't think thats very fair. The players with a lot of free time can easily stop whatever they are doing in game to go check them out, but the players who couldn't check the forums for event times because they aren't posted miss these events. I hope that the GM will stop neglecting the daily event schedule, because it's not fair to have daily events, and not update it. That is my rant.

Was there actually a time when GMs did not neglect their duties one way or another?
Sure, they’re human and whatever, but I wouldn’t mind being paid for what little work you see around here :D. Then again, apparently rider is the only GM that’s entirely dedicated to SoS while the rest seem to mainly focus on fiesta, so it’s no wonder then the way things are.
And of course, right now I assume they’re enjoying their new year days off, maybe a few events get hosted as they can easily be done from any comp, but that aside, it's no wonder the forums seem desolated (from GMs activity that is). I've to say I really missed at least some greeting from them saying merry christmas or happy new year though

There is definitely a lack of GMs for SotS compared to Fiesta. Maybe sometime in the near future there will be a few more hired, but you have to realize that they cost money, and the only money being made so far is from the Fiesta cash shop. There was an announcement that an SotS cash shop would open in December, but that didn't happen. In any case I think the whole company is probably working really hard to step up their game and get some cash flowing in. As soon as that happens I am sure you will see allot more going on in SotS. And also keep in mind that they not only have responsibility here on the forums, but also in game, and at work. Things are likely very hectic between the real world and the game world for the staff, and we should try to be as understanding as possible.

Well actually, Rider has been updating the schedule. Its just that he has been editing the same post every day instead of posting a new one.

11:30am PDT - Solstice Survivor [levels 50 +]
4:30pm PDT - Lost Pet
Hope to see you all at the events ^^

Well I agree with what You say, but You are quite wrong there:P GMs are not responsible for implementation of the game quests, same thing about bugs or new monsters:) GMs are there only to help the community by banning cheaters or organising events. Well to be more exact they can only do what the creators of the game alowed for a GM character. But still I agree about a bit lazines from the side of GMs.

In answer to the topic starter
the daily even schedule is still being updated daily, just it doesn't bump (since it's only an edit), just check it everyday

They're super active compared to what mmorpg?
And I don’t think that the two or three crappy events we get a day can take them (or him, considering rider seems to be the only GM) all day to organize.
I remember RO private servers where the GMs did it just for the fun of it (they weren’t paid) and they definitely where more active, both in forum and in game.
And then again, judging the activity of the GMs by the events they provide is just falling for the eye candy, the true function of a GM is to moderate and help make the inside and outside (forum) of the game more enjoyable for it’s users, and so far, there’s almost no GM response around here, though in-game how they’re dealing with scammers, harassers or the like, only time will tell, but at least for now it seems to be controlled.

I'm sorry to be utterly confused, but I am. ^_^;
The daily event schedule has been updated every day there's an event, as far as I've seen. The post date for the event schedule was the 27th but if you look into the thread they say "this is the daily event schedule for [insert date here]" and it's updated to today, as far as I can tell, and since it's been edited the post date doesn't change but the information on it does.
If that's not what you were talking about then, just ignore this post. ^^;

I did not know that, whenever I check the forum for events, I just quick check the topic to see when the last post was. Thank you for sharing that with me ^^

Hi,
first of all i do think the gm are doing what they can and i for one am happy with them.
The only thing i like to see is that the event schedule is updated earlier.. ( mostly they update the schedule 30 min before the first event?) I realy would like to see that update 2 hours before the start of the event. ( maybe even sooner).
Well that's all i wanted to say about this.

Hello Solstice Players,
First of all I would like to say that I have been updating the Daily Event Schedule everyday an event happens. For those of you who do not take one extra click to open the thread and actually see that it is updated, I will make a new thread every event day just so you can see the date on the thread and do not get confused about whether it is an old Daily Event Schedule or a new Daily Event Schedule.
Secondly I try to be as active in Solstice as much as possible. During the times I am not hosting an event or assisting players through whispers, I am trying to get new content, bugs fixed, efficient game balance, monitoring the forums, working on store release and more to try and help satisfy you the players.
If you think that there are areas that need attention, by all means let me know and I will take the time to look into it, and if it is a good data or content, we will implement it. Solstice is a game that accomodates its players but it doesn't happen over night.
Thank you for your continuing support ^^

so u all know it is really hard to be a GM and i think is so cool how rider and murdock have a little time to hang with us at all. i was a GM for my bf's brothers game .....and i never got to play it so many messages from players try to think up things to make it better is a hard job.but i can't do it any more tho cuz my new job at that time took up al my time

Thanks for your response here Rider. I think it's important for everyone here to read what he said about what he does when hes not running an event....You all need to realize that there is more to do then just events. In the long run if all Rider was doing was hosting cool events for us we would not end up with a cash shop, we would get no new content, and the forums would be garbage.
And I have one thing to say...The game is beta. I know it's not an excuse, but really, we have an opportunity to help make this game better for when it becomes a full release. We can help to mold it into something bigger then it is now, and complaining about how many events there are for you in the here and now is not going to help that much. Outspark had to put up money for all these servers, and to buy the games, and to make these forums. So far the only income they have is from the Fiesta cash shop. So you can imagine why there are more Mods in Fiesta then here. If we all stop being selfish and whining about how much we want things better for 'ourselves' and start thinking about making this game something that will last over time then we will ultimately end up the winners.
The game is 'FREE'. In all actuality any complaints you have about it are entirely unjustified. It's like someone giving you free food, and complaining that they didn't give you anything to drink with it. At least they are giving us what we have. Let's all stop whining about what we don't have and be constructive. Give back to the community and help out as much as possible, and all the things your so upset about will become fixed in time.

I too agree with the above poster. We shuold ALL be a little conciderate for the OutSpark staff. How can you simply accuse them that way? If they weren't doing anything... we wouldnt even have any NEW UPDATES in both games, no?
There are like more than two thousand players, and its not 10 pm's they receive per-day, its over 50.. to 100.. sometimes more! And they read it all, and reply to it as fast as they can. If they don't reply, that doesn't mean they're IGNORING YOU.. its probably because you have the same problems/in-game errors with previous users, and they just get your information and solve the problem. Unless you have a bug with your character that requires MORE ATTENTION, then i assume they'll try to do it personally with you, but not 100%. From what i know, they reply, as much as they can, even to a friendly " Hi, how's work? " when they're really available.
As for claiming that there are HARDLY an GM's in SOS, dont say that! You guys are just NOT online at the right time, and at the right place. Do you think it's so easy, to just sit down and chat all day? They have work. Not to mention, they would even take some SPARE time in-game to sit down a while and chat/game with players.
They're doing all they can to improve BOTH games. Give them a chance, please?
*sighs*
But yeah, thanks to Rider for explaining on behalf of OutSpark, i surely hope things will be taken to concideration after his post ne? ^^
We love you Rider & Murdock!! And the rest of the OUTSPARK team! :D
