I've read a few of the topics in this section of the forum just checking out what kind of events and stuff there are, since I love PvP and I heard they have PvP events. (I only just started 3 days ago and I'm only level 32 so i'm still a little low and i'll get my butt kicked though!).
Lots of the comments i've read have been negative saying the GM's arent doing this or that, and that they're all on fiesta. It has come to my attention that there is (or nearly is) atleast one event a day!
This is amazing. I've basically just come from this game called "rappelz", got bored from leveling on that and wanted a break, and my friend told me over MSN about this game. I've gotten stuck into it, I really enjoyed RO and this is quite similar in terms of the game mechanics. So anyway, in rappelz I've played it on and off for about 2 years now. Guess how many GM hosted events I've been in? One. Infact, I'm pretty sure there hasn't been more than three GM hosted events in total, over the whole two years i've been playing.
Yeah yeah, in rappelz theres a thing called a "seige" thats on every weekend, I suppose you can call that an event, but it's still only on once a week... and it's not GM hosted. It's done by the server. GM hosted events are much more enjoyable anyway, since theres interactivity and all.
I've also played other games such as: Maplestory, Gunz, Silkroad, ... I could list alot. In 90% of these games i've never even seen a GM in them.
In comparison to other games, the GM's in this are heroes.

aye..i've only played one other game where the GMs ar more involved than rider n murdock, and that game had none of the great players to go with the GMs. RI, and the GMs make this game the best in the webs! free or pay!

Well, I was a GM (Guide) on Everquest for a year and played it for four years. We didn't get paid, it was voluntary, had a rules manual of about 80 pages, and major requirements for activity. On the other hand, the technical parts of the game became impossible for any of my computers (I refuse to edit .ini files just to log onto a game). I love the "plug and play" aspect of this game.
I would love to see some variety in GM run quests and events besides pvp battles and hide and seek, especially ones geared to specific levels or classes. I would also like to see more than one winner (first, second, and third) with varying degrees of prizes.

yeah one of the great parts of this game even thought its still beta, is the interaction we have GM to player and player to GM, i cant tell you of anytime i've seen rider make an anouncement where some1 dosent reply "rider i love you" or something like that.
What i mean is that atleast here we get to say hi to the GMs and maybe, yeah they have alot of issues to resolve but where we are all we can know is that there working on this game to get better, so i think it would be best to calm down on them, and give more sugestions about complains that just raw suggestions, im sure the GMs also have a life and have stuff do, so th eleast we can do is try to help em how we can.

I have one thing to say about this....I love the GMs here. They work allot really if you think about all that their jobs encompass, and they have been very enthusiastic about every aspect of the game. Just look at when Steam left, he had a damn ticker tape parade practically, and he deserved every bit of it. And CSR Cretz is always popping in to help people in troubleshooting, running around in both Fiesta and SotS, and generally trying to superman all over the place. The one thing I 'don't' like, as far as these forums are concerned, are all the people who never help out at all. Even just answering a stupid question is helpful to someone. Instead you sometimes see someone just be degrading to the person. Granted most of these degrading comments are from kids, and thats unavoidable, but sometimes its from longtime members who know better. One thing everyone here should take into consideration is that:
1.There are allot of people of the young persuasion here...One persons dumb question is another persons brain stumper. Even answering the silliest thing can be helpful to someone.
2.People from all over the world come here, and sometimes the english isn't the best, but if they started typing it in german or something it really wouldn't help much, so bare with them even if the spelling and grammar is horrible.
3.What do you want? Some cheese to go with that whine? Whining about the game is like participating in the special olympics, even when you win you lose (no offense meant to the handicapped, it's just a joke). If you need to complain, just do so in a way that is constructive, and if you need to point out how stupid someone is, at least do it in an intelligent way. Unless they are gold sellers or advertising on the forums, then just laugh and taunt them while you hit the report button:p
So that's basically the end of my rant...of which I added onto the end of your rant....It's like a rantathon here or something. But yeah, we all have a chance to make the community a better place. I agree with the Mod bashing, if you have something bad to say about them, why not stow it and instead do something about it. If you see something lacking try to think up ideas to change it, to fix it, to build it up into something better. Talk about it with the rest of us, we can all work on it, and in the end maybe the mods will see what we have going on is a good idea and work with us to change it, and in the end we will all win.

My first mmorpg i ever played is SoS, and to tell the truth, it's very very fun and addicting. I don't know what other MMORPG's GMs are like, so i can't vote. However, i think that GM Rider is doing a good job on keeping everything organized and etc.
