i have read through these forums now
and im intending to become cleric

yet what i see is everyone says you should build for pure int or ratios 3 to 1

so i wonder how exactly does int affect the aco

i know it affects his spell damage and healing power
but by how much does it really affect it

im new to solstice but looking at the stat system i dont see how pure int could benefit an aco more than a wis or men build

especially taking into account that you are the spport char determend to keep your allies alive you have to be able to sustain your own health
and with such a build thats impossible...

it may be great for soloing but i dont see how an aco / cleric could survive in a massive pvp situation
supportive characters and major damage dealers will always be the first target

so yea my common sense tells me a pure int build for pvp would be just insane O.o
and thats all that drives me in mmorpg ^^ pvp / gvg etc...
thx for your comments

In any other mmorpg, the main stat for any supportive class it’ the stat that helps them support to begin with, and in most that’s the stat that increases magical powers (in this case, int). Sure, for pvp/gvg purposes you will need to increase you survivability, but that’s still secondary to actually being able to do what you’re supposed to do well, and that’s pretty much keeping your companions alive.

Now, all the builds we give on these forums are at most up to lvl 50, while the max lvl is somewhere around lvl 150 and you do get to reset your stats every time you change your class, so don’t worry about ending up as an easy target for pvp/gvg. We suggest going full int at the beginning, for obvious reasons, first so your heal doesn’t suck (with the starting stats, you will luckily heal around 30 HP) and also, so you get a decent damage with Illusion Quake so you can solo all the first lvls (up to lvl 30 is quite easy, and even later it can be done) so you become stronger and better prepared for supporting. The fact is, for training purposes, both wis and sta are pretty much useless, wis because any party will anyway spam pots, so whether you can heal two or three more time before spamming them makes no difference, and sta because you anyway won’t be tanking any mob and you will anyway outheal any damage they could do. We do suggest however that once your heal gets to around 120+ HP, you start pumping men, as the lower delay between skills will help your supporting a lot. Now, once you actually hit lvl 50+ and both your heal is high and your cast is decent, you can go ahead and start pumping sta if that’s what you want.
