There's quite a few different things xtrap does. Mainly I won't go into much detail, but it should stop a bit of spamming and botting ;)

xtrap is a program that scans your pc for any hacking/illegal/3rd party programs
and there's many bypass for xtrap and no i won't name any
it might cut down on the numbers of botters but i don't think it'll stop those botters from coming back

Xtrap = a scanner in sorts, you will not notice it, you will not worry about it....that is...unless your doing something you shouldn't be doing.

Xtrap is causing a Windows corruption on my computer. Please tell me who to email to get this fixed. The error reads

CODE_FIELD [08-0400-00000000-202]
Some functions provided by this operating system has been corrupted.

Then it gives 2 options Mailto and OK

I have no idea who to email it to and the ok button does squat.

Anybody have any ideas on whats up or who to talk to.

xfire is linked to fiesta, mostly any programs that does not come with outspark that links to fiesta are considered a 3rd party program an so, xtrap stops the game from running

i hate to be mean but xtrap is easily bypassable...i played knight online for 2 years and the day after patches everyone was back to botting...hopefully it does not happen here

They should be up within the next hour or so.
Servers were supposed to go down at 9am PST for 2 hours. But it seems they went down an hour late. So 30 minutes - an hour I'd say until they are back up.

u might wanna try to remove your xtrap folder from the gamefolder and try redownloading the file again, i did that alot previously..but i'm not sure if it'll work here

do u have some kind of root kit protection? Or maybe another rootkit is running on your comp? If the later is the case u should consider reinstalling the computer completely.

What the program does. It is looking for any third party sftware that is illegally connecting to fiesta. Bot programs do this by running a code in the back ground of your pc/laptop. Xtrap intercepts these programs and disables them sometimes even keeps you from logging in. Down side to these programs is once in awhile when anti virius software is updated it will create a false psoitive until the anti virius company creates a patch which is usually with in the first 1-24 hours. The reason for the false positive is your software is detecting a program that is running in the background looking for botting programs which can raise a red flag with virius programs if they have not been updated for that specific program code. So really in a way Xtrac Xfire Botshield and a few other popular programs out there are in a way a anti virius program for the game by preventing malicius or illegal codes from running on or in them. Hopefully this answers some peoples questions on what exactly they are downloading. Will hurt your computer no. will it make fiesta run smoother yes. If you are running a program with fiesta that is sending illegal code you are now blocked. YAY.:)

When i try to log in it says i'm using illegal program or some stupid thing and won't let me play fiesta!:mad: I don't even have any botting, hacking or stupid programs that make the game unfair! Why would I cheat?I like to play the game without cheats so i can have fun. If i used cheats the game would be as boring as sitting down being really really REALLY bored with nothing to do.

Programs like this can only stop kids that use some popular "hacking tool" you can download on the internet. You can never really stop professional hackers with them (like Gold Spamers and their bots).

I have the feeling this is becoming more of a troubleshooting thread (hint: it may be moved soon)

They are currently working on a resolution, please be a little patient in the interim.

As for X-Trap halting you for using an ‘illegal program’ please note there are many posts touching on this subject though the X-Trap threads. Please review them and see if you can find a resolution therein.

Do you have a scroll wheel in your mouse? I use that and it seems to work fine for zooming in/out.

I haven't tried the F11 route yet tho...

SO irritated now!! what is going on? when i downloaded patch .74 i didnt get the xtrap =S i pmed a GM,, i posted a thread,, i asked countless strangers for advice, i uninstalled and reinstalled, i even contacted them at at outspark but nothing nothing nothing !! what do i do??

Because all of the serious botters know how to work around security programs like xtrap and gameguard. Only those of us who are not that sophisticated are stuck trying to get our legit workarounds.

I'm not sure if F11 is supposed to zoom in or out but you can try the PageUp and PageDown keys. I know those work for zooming as I often accidentally hit PgUp when meaning to hit Home and wind up with a close up of my booty instead of being in my shroom. LOL

The GMs have their hands full right now so a response may not come instantly, but they are good at trying to get back to everyone in due time.

The bots are an issue, hence the X-Trap and the attempts to prevent their scripts from running. Spammers are another issue, and I am not certain X-Trap will be as effective in solving that particular problem, but we'll see.

Please remember, this program was put in place because of the ever-pressing issues with bots and the complaints against them. OutSpark and the programmers are working hard to rectify the issue for us all. All they ask for in return is a little patience.
