I wonder if everyone is making squire into a fighter rather than a tank. I see a lot of neos tanking rather than squires tanking.
I thought that squires are supposed to tank...and this seems like we will need some ppl to make tanks in the near future.
Wonder what everyone thinks.:)

Problem is, more HP won't really make you a better tank, sure, it will help, but no mob hits so hard as to kill you in just one hit, even the stronger mobs that a lvl 50+ would go against, hit at best around 70~100 damage per hit and any decent aco will be healing around 150 HP per heal by those lvls. And if you get mobbed by 4 or more mobs therefore receiving damage your aco may not be able to heal (considering heals go faster than mob attacks, it’s easy to heal 300+ HP by the time they hit you just once), you can just stun one, fall back a bit, have the apprentices slow them down (or any other of the many skills from other classes for mob control) and keep killing them one by one. Now, if you get mobbed by 5 or 6 or more mobs at a time (which would be very weird though) with no warning and you don’t have the time to use skills to control them, you would need at least around 10+ more Sta of what you had for enough HP to survive all those first blows and even then, the aco/acos wouldn’t be able to outheal all that damage and you would die anyway (along with most of the party). And since the only way to increase your defense is by equips, leveling up is basically the best way to become better at tanking.

So, do you need Sta? obviously yes, and on later lvls (60+ maybe) it could be a good thing to start a build that focuses more on it, but for now, killing the mobs fast it’s still the better way to handle them. As for pvp/gvg situations, considering all the lvls left (max lvl is around 150+), focusing at a build for that would be a waste, as training would get much more difficult.
