i don't heal+bufff as much as i like to atk, so i'm saying disciple for me :D XD

I'm already a disciple.
Once I get bored of my neo as a secondary character, I may create another aco for the cleric path, I love their look (it reminds me of acos from RO xd).

cleric all the way, plus predictors dont attack from distance, if i would want something around those lines i would make up a fighter.

We should suggest they do something about the whole system. Heal should only work on self and party members and targeted people =/
That'd cause trouble if you're in a 1v1 situation though...gah...

I'm more of a bashing person myself (standing around spamming heals bores me) but I'm gonna at least give cleric a try, sounds like they get pretty awesome at high lvls

They get pretty awesome at high levels? They are still just healers/buffers, but with a tad better heal/buff. Don't go dream about nuke skills ála mages. Because you will not get it.

Actually, from what I hear here and from some people who actually have it, Oblivion isn't all that big of a deal. Just a bigger IQ iwith DOT capabilities. Ghost steel is also a bigger Bless from what I understand o_O

EDIT: Ghost Steal is a 3 second stun with dot capabilities.

Clerics are probably the way to go. Disciples lose the ability to buff and heal others, so I'd only go that way if I wanted to solo a ton. Clerics are going to be needed in the really high areas when 4-8 people need to be healed at once, so area effect heals are useful there. It all really depends on style. Clerics also look pretty cool.

Disciples can heal, even if they're not as good at it as an aco/cleric. But the point is, they can still server as secondary healers on a party (so if things get though, he/she can fall back and start healing around, which btw can help a lot if the damage is not that high, but constant)
As for AoE heals, templars also have one, though the point that clerics are THE supporters of the game is undisputable.

I'm going for cleric. Not trying very hard, but I'm going for it. ^^;
The only reason for that would be that I've got a scout, don't need any more lvl 45 stuff, and I really really REALLY like helping people. ^^ Anyone who's roughing it out I'll heal and bless. x3

Try a squire (even a lvl 16 one would suffice). Now imagine that you have a skill that’s like spamming about 7 HP pots on around 20 secs. Or simply think of a squire that can use around two aco heals but only every 20 secs. That’s pretty much what a disciple will feel like at least till a much higher lvl.
Now picture yourself supporting with your aco, but with much stronger support skills and even the ability to heal everyone around you. That’s pretty much a cleric.
Now, if you say you like supporting, then disciple is definitely not for you.

Ok, here's the deal. Try to figure out ur own fighting style, and how u act during the heat of battle.
The following is a small suggested guideline for those who might suffer brain damage when deciding their path...
If You:
Put healing before attacking...
Placed a even amount for wis and int...
Like to stay behind the front lines...
Buff everyone (everyone in ur party) when preparing an attack...
Like to party above all else...
...you will be better off as a Cleric/Priest
If You:
Attack first, then heal when required...
Mostly use the buffs for yourself first over others...
Doesn't fret when enemy starts attacking you at close range...
Get all the attack spells you can learn at your current lv over other skills...
Like to Solo over party...
...you are good as a Disciple

Ever played a crusader and even better, a battle/heal crusader?
That's closer to a disciple if you want to compare to RO, but still this game classes and mechanics work very very different from RO ones, so comparing them won’t do you much good.
And for comparison purposes, think of the squire as a swordsman, not a knight. As for the acolyte, it’s very damn different to the RO ones.

I'm going for Templar, myself. I enjoy the fighting and leveling too much n.n
In a party, I usually fight until things start going out of our favor, then I switch to strictly healing.
But mostly, I fight. So I want a Templar n.n

Me - Always been accustom to healing/buffing and running like a sissy when it came to a mutant apple. Not that I am saying I wouldn't slap a slime around with my trusty wand or anything but I prefer the back lines medic attention in all games.
On the Not of RO > I totally agree that this game works so much different.
I'll make the Acolyte a prime Example:
RO's Acolyte:
- Skill System set Tree
- Prereq Skill System
- Able to Buff/Heal dependant on Skill lvl
- Relentless AoE for Undead Later Levels
- Contains about 3-4 more buffs
- Has 2 paths to walk Monk/Priest
- Is more support than Fighting
Solstice Acolyte:
- Buy as you go Skill System
- Lvl Req Skills
- Heal based on Lvl and WIS
- Contains more needed Attributes
- Available buff only after lvl 21
- Holds Power AoE Heals later
- Stays one line unless Style Change
- Is more support than Fighting but still can hold if needed.
Besides if this was a RO look alike... they would have had a merchant class too... Now wouldn't that have been interesting?

I pretty much agree with you... EXCEPT for the lv16 squire part. Disciples are stronger than that, unless you messed your char up. (comparing to a lv 45 Disciple)

I will go Cleric. I have been playing MMO's since early EQ days and over the years got drawn into healers as a specialisation. I think that players who get hooked on healers do so not becasue is is a "helpful" class..... nope
healers in party's have many things to think about and the combination of timing and postioning and whether or not a little bit of offense or debuffing etc is needed makes for an intersting class.
Although aco tends to heal and buff mostly, don't underestimate the Spirit spell which can stop an incoming mob in it's tracks, this can save more MP than letting in it and having to heal up the damage. Just one example of the battle awareness needed to set yourself apart from the run of the mill healers out there......

I never said they where the same, from a raw power point of view it’s obvious that a lvl 16 squire is weaker than a lvl 45 disciple, just how said squire would also be weaker compared to another lvl 45 squire. What I said was simply to illustrate how using/playing as a disciple would feel like, considering how different they're compared to an acolyte.
And also, from a proportional point of view, the lvl 16 squire is probably stronger, as killing same lvl mobs would probably be easier for him/her than for a lvl 45 disciple :p

The buff ourselves part is not as awesome as it seems, it's not any different than any of the other autobuffs that all classes have.
As for the avatar stuff, aside from the char image ones like the disciple you already have, you can't change it.
That's only for GMs or any other of the staff related people (including the CMs or whatever else the mods around here are called).
