Ok, does INT add to your skill damage? Because my friend says it's possible for int to increase the skill damage because mages always use skills to attack monsters, and when they increase INT, they increase their skill damage, which actually increases their magic attack. Is he correct or is it that there are 2 types of skills, physical and magical (i'm confused because i'm hearing some ppl say that skill damage is not based on base damage, possibly magic damage). Is it INT that makes mages so strong, could INT add more to overall damage than STR, could non-mages use INT?? Just wondering...

It's not increasing the damage of skills. It increases your magic-damage. So if you use skills based on physical damage like all archer, clerics and fighter attack-skills then it won't affect them. Only mages benefit from increased intelligence since they are the only ones who use the magic damage*. ;)

*At least so far. Perhaps there will be changes in the future but I doubt that.

The reason why mages are so strong are the fact that many enemies with high physical defence have low magic defense, thus higher damage through magic attacks. But Some mobs like Mage Books have a higher magic defense and are a bit tougher for mages to kill. :)

So that means that there are 2 types of skill damage, right?

Exactly. Only mage-skills do magic damage. Rest is physical. ;)
