The Neophyte uses one knife. You need level 66 and blood for the dual-wielding Rogue.
Each of the Squire and Neophyte possesses different tactics and skills. The Squire is soaking damage(debatable), while throwing strong attacks at the opponent in various ways.
The Neophyte is nimble and dodges attacks while dishing out underhanded moves.

So would a rogue be good for like fast attacking? what is a Neophyte and Squire? i am completely new to this game. I only know of the 5 classes and thats it
Trashknight

There are seven different classes in this game.(With the Xenian included)
You need to look around the stickies more. Squire is the first step for what was a "Fighter" in Closed Beta. While Rogue now is the second class instead of Assassin, so Neophyte becomes the first class in this one.
The Neophyte is fast, good at dodging and deals small amount of damage(In comparison with other classes) quicker then others.

it goes neophyte > rogue > assassin > shadow master for that branch of classes....so far we can only go up to rogue I believe...

A squire is a front-line fighter, a brutal warrior that can sustain a lot of dmg (by lv) and in turn will deal heavy base dmg to their enemies with long broadswords. They can also carry alot of equipment without exceeding their max weight limitation.
A Neophlyte is a cunning theif, and is known for their high agility in combat and is more stealthy than any other class. They can use alot of buffs that help them in combat by giving them more agility and higher chance of landing a critical. Their base dmg isn't high, but they have alot of underhanded tactics up their sleeves, like thrusting a poisoned dagger at their opponent, blinding them and unable to move.

So do most people stay as a neophyte and moving to rogue?

So far a lot have converted to Scout. We'll see when someone turns into Rogue how the trend goes.

is the scout like the archer? i wanna stay in the assassin type tree. so what levels do you get to change classes is a neophyte better than rogue?

I prefer Range base combat, so I switched to Scout at lvl 45.
It's all about personal prefrences. Just goto SolsticePlayer, do some research, and see what you'd like to do.

Rogues learns more skills then the lower Neophyte. The Assassin learns more then both of them together, and the Shadow Master learns the most. There is no reason NOT to upgrade to the next class.
You change to Neophyte on level 16, Rogue at level 66 and Assassin at level 96. For SM I don't bother now.

If you want some more info on the neophyte class then here it is:
Neophytes as the fastest class in SoS on movement and attack speed. They have buffs that increase the stats they need(dodging rate, attack speed, movement speed, chance of crital hits, etc.)The neophyte also have skills to hinder their oppnents. At lvl 45 they have a chance to become a scouter but if you do,you lose every neophyte skill and gain scouter skills. If you stay a neopyte, then at lvl 66 you will be able to become a rouge who is a "upgraded" neophyte as they even keep their neophyte skills and gain rouge skills. Now when assassin class is ready, you will be able to dual-wield and become very strong.

Just to put my 2 cents into this thread about Neophytes....
Neophyte is easily one of the best and coolest classes in the game. We're the fastest, we dodge like we're in the matrix especially with the Enhance skill. We can do more critical hits with our Accuracy skill and Agility Build, we can temporarily stop a monster from moving and attacking for a couple of seconds with our Blindside skill. We can poison a target with our powerful Poison Blow, we can survive easily by turning Invisible and Uninvisible, we can outrun the other classes with our Rapid Step skill.
I don't know much about the higher Neopythe skills right now as im only lvl 46 but Evil Voice will put the target to sleep for a couple of minutes. im not sure if attacking it physically or magically will wake it up.
What i do know though is that at lvl 66 we turn into Rogues, they're going to be twice as deadly and even have an AoE skill, it's called Circle Trap and will be INCREDIBLY useful since monsters like to gang up on you.
At lvl 96 we become Assassins, and at lvl 101 we can Dual Wield, making us not only fast but powerful and deadly at the same time.
At lvl 130 we become Shadow Masters, i know very little about it, i suspect it's going to be overloaded with power, Shadow Master will also be the fastest class ever because of the 2 skills it has. One of them DOUBLES your Normal attack's damage and the other accelerates your attack speed even more.
Even Neophytes are able to to reduce their attack speed to 0.6sec with the right build and skills, so i imagine Shadow Master is going to have 0.0sec or 0.1sec making it incredibly deadly.

I really hope leveling speeds up later. it seems like it'll take an eternity to get to 66. i don't even want to think of 96 (when that becomes available).
and Rodaa, what's the point of the teddy outfit when it has such low def rating, you can't really use it in combat. i guess it's just a fashion accessory while walking around town.

It was?! o.o I always called neos rogues. And I can't help but call apprentices mages, cuz apprentice is just such a long word to type. @_@ Acolyte hasn't changed, and squire is a bit easier to type that whatever it was previously, which I seem to have forgotten. ^^;
To the maker of this thread, you probably want to be a neophyte, if you like quick short ranged moves and want to be an assassin. I might be biased though, squire is the only class I seem to just be completely incapable of handling. ^_^; No offense to squires, I started as a mage, and I've got a scout, so I'm more of a long ranged person.

Yes, Neos were Rogues and Rogues were Felons. Disciples were predictors, squires were fighters i think. i wasnt in closed beta but i heard this stuff from the other CB people.

No big diffie between fighters and thieves before level 66. Both have a base attack skill, that do the same damage (around 2.5x base dmg) and one stun for 3 sec skill. If you build them exactly the same, the difference wont be that large.
Neos would have 10 more dodge cause of the skill, and 6 more crits.
Fighters would have higher atk cause of their skill.
Later on they both get AoE skills.
But if you're new I advice you to chose Neophyte. Then you get the option to switch to archer at level 45 if you get bored of the melee :)

I am a poor typiest need a simple "looking for H lvl 56-78" H being healer:)
changing now from one server to next, and one toon to next hard to remember if I am on my knight, or squire, or ...., besides simple T (tank) 220 defence, makes it easier to yellow egg ppl I am looking for.
