Can't log in -- Xtrap Error

The error is:


CODE_FIELD [02-0300-00000005-020]


Some functions provided bythe operating system are not working properly.





Is anybody else experiencing this problem or know a way to fix it?





Edit: I have reinstalled the client with firewall/antivirus off, aswell as most unnecessary processes and the problem still persists. *

Yeah I'm getting that error as well. Not sure what the problem is though, my computer runs fine. I'd like to know just what functions "provided by the operating system are not working properly", so maybe we could find out the problem.

I spoke to GM Kezzerdrix threw IRC and s/he informed me that Outspark is aware of the issue and have some ideas as to what might be causing the error code and they are doing resaerch on it.

This error may be related to your firewall not allowing certain Xtrap files to fully download into the OutSpark folder


Try going into your firewall settings and allowing any and all Xtrap
files to pass through the firewall. Make sure to allow _all_ Xtrap
files through, so make sure to tell the firewall to View All, not just .exe files.



There are some other possibilities for this error we are _researching_, and we'll keep you posted!

-.- it's not the firewall. It's x-trap it's self. The x-trap installed is not fully updated/f'ed up or something of the sort. IF anyone here can play the game and connect get him or her to upload his or hers x-trap folder in the game folder installed on thier pc. So we can d/l it and replace our non working x-traps with a working one. it's not the firewall. If it was it would be like (x-trap can't connect) or something of the sort. So anyone who can play the game right now uplaod thier x-trap folder so we can d/l it. It should work. PLus this was the same problem that happend in sotnw and this solved it.

Awwwwwww man everybody beat me to it :( lol... Anyhow i have the same problem to and tried to reinstall a few times and double check everything. So yeah it's some kind of bug in xtrap (jeez i hate that prog -_-). Let's just keep posting so the GMs will notice this serious problem for CB2. :(

Ok, I just finished downloading the client. When I installed it, it had a few things you could opt not to install. However on the second email it informs you that you must install these things to work. So, did you make absolutely sure all these options were checked? Mine were automatically checked, however, some systems may not be due to user preferences and such. I'm not sure that is the problem as I*am*still installing, but perhaps it will be useful still.*

ok is this wierd or just me, i turned the resident shield in AVG to get the game to work, but after i loged out of the game i cut it back on and loaded the game again to see what would happen and it worked fine

AVG thing worked for me. I made a character, named her and had to exit using alt-f4. However on re-entering the game I get stuck at the server selection screen. I am choosing the server that says 'Fine' but the 'Join'*arrow is not doing anything. Same for the 'Quit' arrow. /sigh

i also was able to resolve my issue with avg...i tried unloading it but i still got error...you have to let it run and disable the resident shield

Xtrap has had this problem with numerous games, i believe it is because xtrap acts like a virus...


and is blocked by your firewall and virus protection... at least that is what i have heard.


 


why not use gameguard, or another better hack scanner.

I was able to do everything just fine. I got no errors and downloaded nothing differently. I played for about an hour I think, but closed it out because I had remembered that I said I would let ya'll know something. It works for me and I do have AVG, but I never let it start up on its own, so the firewall is off I guess. I never had to go through those steps. For my comp it was a bit laggy at first, but it seems to have improved now...

The Join buttons didn't work for me until I clicked the arrow button and then the join. Could've just been luck and server overload letting up tho.

the avg shield removal worked for me (go fiesta staff)


But it may be more difficult for other people, i know a little about networking... and yes, your router's firewall does like to block all of the goodness from entering into your computer. Good luck all XD
