its the branch class for acolyte

sorta like a battle cleric, uses brute force and self buffs

it lose's all the acolyte skills but does get a healing spell that heals over time

The funny thing is, Templar is tier 2 if I am not mistaken. a class no one has reached yet. Have to check SP.

Edit:

Yup,

Templar’s Guild

Class Level 1: Disciple
Class Level 2: Templar
Class Level 3: Holy Avenger

yeah but the trio of classes as a whole is called Templar

like the 4 classes that begin with Squire are called Fighter

Which also brings out some confusion among new players. ^_^'

A templar is a knight that fights on Earth to enforce God(s) will(s). Templars are supposed to be fighting for good, but they are often corrupt. People question if this corruption existed from the creation of the templars, but often fail to question the existance of the God(s) they are supposedly obeying. Templars often-times use wands, but in extremely rare conditions, use lances, poleaxes, and javelins. It is extremely questionable if such a weapon will exist within this game for templars, though. Templars are often influential of governments and often receive large quantities of citizen's tariffs and taxes. Templars are often in lethal competetion with each other for high ranks. Many join the templars because they want the easy way out of life, or are forced into the situation by personal economic suffering. Templars are experts in dual-wielding, but the lesser rankings are forced to use a simple sword and shield. Templars are normally commanded by one very religious individual who has sincerely enforces the will of the God(s) in order for the Templar Captain to avoid any questioning of the templars themselves. This effort reduced mutinies by a vast number. However, the religious individual is most likely unaware of the Templar corruption. Templars time period of existance is somewhat debated.

THIS IS WHAT THE "TEMPLAR" HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO BE KNOWN AS!

correct grammar for templars:
one templar- templar
two templar- templars
all templars- Templars
as an adjective- Templar

Strider is already a templar and I suppose that other disciples are close to becoming one (stede, chun-li and xanthe come to mind)

You have been watching too much TV

As for what templar really is (in-game), think of it as a squire (melee warrior type) with the ability to heal himself over some time.

A lot of people like to point that disciples also have the ability to buff themselves, problem is, all classes have one or more skills that are self supportive, and the disciple ones are not particularly impressive if you compare them to others, therefore if the disciples have the ability to buff themselves, all classes can do that too.

Also, mage warrior or battle mage or other similar descriptions are quite wrong, templars don’t have any magical skills, and even our heal is not affected by magic. Same with calling us paladins, crusaders or white knights, there’s nothing holy about the powers and skills of templars (once again, in this game) and it’s not our mission to vanquish demons, undeads or other similar evil creatures. It’s true however that our powers come from a goddess but that is Polutance, the goddess of war.

a Templar is like a Squire and an Acolyte mixed. They can have a decent base atk and have self buffs that mirror Acolyte's buffs. This is a good class if you want to get the best of both worlds. However, this will come with some draw backs.
A lv45 Squire will significantly do more dmg than a lv45 Disciple, however, the Squire must sit/consume HP pots regularly (unless with Aco) where as the Disciple can keep hacking away while using Assist Heal.
A lv45 Acolyte can also heal much more efficently than Disciples can heal. However, when aggros approches, the Aco will have to run away and has a high chance of not suriving where as a Disciple can jump in and launch a few stuns and help atk.

That's my 2 cents
